Al Fatihah in Hulu Selangor.
I wrote a short article about Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah. Yesterday he turned 73. He is our longest serving MP. He is MP or Gua Musang since 1974. Generally speaking, people get good wishes and payers by others. There was one comment that finds it amusing that people should be praising TRH. According to this remark, there is only one thing that stopped TRH from becoming PM. HIMSELF. I agree. TRH is too gentleman and lacked the killer instinct. Like Dr Mahathir for example. He is Mahathir the Vanquisher just like Vlad was the impaler. So what is the thing that will prevent BN from winning Hulu Selangor? ITSELF. It didn't heed the voices of the people. The people want a Malay MP. No two ways about it. Not racist or anything. Malay people just got tired of compromises especially, as it appears that its always them who are making way. I have already written 2 articles on the prospects of the HS elections. I have outlined the causes that could lead to a BN loss. In my own estimate, BN has only about 17,000 secured votes. Call it BN's Fixed Deposit in Hulu Selangor. Assuming that only 80% of the 64k voters actually come out, BN needs another 10,000 votes to win this election. Later we shall discuss what factor/s BN has that could earn it a WIN. For the moment, I am interested in outlining the causes that could lead to defeat. I have mentioned candidate as one. BN is likely to field a candidate from MIC. It won't be Palanivel who certalnly would cause BN to earn a defeat. He has served 18 years as MP and still there are a lot of problems and grouses. What do those tell you? They tell us that Palanivel hasn't been working and they tell us, that people are tired of seeing Palanivel for the last 18 years. If Palanivel couldn't win HS despite having served for 18 years and despite being an incumbent during the last GE, how could he win in a by election? UMNO and BN isn't as strong as it wants the public to believe. If it's strong, they wouldn't be tripping over each other's legs rushing to Perlis to persuade that chinaman from MCA NOT to quit and therefore triggering off a by election. If its strong, it wouldn't mind going through a by elections. It will face the elections like an anak Jantan. In UMNO there is only one alpha male- Nazri Aziz. Others are faggots. I want to know the role of Perkasa in this. It has been going around the country pompously and noisily claiming that it looks after Malay interest. Now if UMNO agrees to a non UMNO candidate in Hulu Selangor which means sidelining a Malay interest would warrior Ibrahim Ali unleash the keris which appears to be taller than him in protest? Mengamuk lah Brahim wok, calun dalam kawasan Melayu, bukan Melayu! People will ask UMNO. What is your weltanschauung? What's your main agenda? UMNO will say it's looking out for the Malays. People will ask further, if that is the case, why aren't you fielding a Malay candidate? People will say if it is claimed that a non Malay can represent and fight for Malay interests, then a priori, a Malay can also do the same- fight for the interests of non Malays. I received a text message from an unknown person. He asked- please vote for someone who can offer us Al Fatihah supplications when we are dead. PILIH LAH ORANG YANG BOLEH SEDEKAHKAN AL FATIHAH BILA KITA MATI. That my friend is a powerful message that UMNO and BN have to face and maneuver around. I promise, in the next few articles, I will write what I think can win BN this by election.

Regardless of anything, survival of the malay depends on how they interprete politics. Its time to vote for your own skin and that should infact be the slogan of PERKASA. Chinese is doing just that in Penang.

Si Isa Adun sorang lagi tu...alahai Dato' cuba tengok latar belakang dia, jadi apa nak di harapkan, mereka tak kan berani nak bertegang urat dengan Najib dan Mdin mempertahankan Melayu....dua dua anak tempatan, dua dua pun tak bolih di harapkan.
SO, elok lah Zaid menang pun walau pun bukan anak tempatan tetapi anak Malaysia bukan Palinavil atau Mugilan!!! Tak tahu lah, kalau dua dua ni dah pandai baca Fatihah!!! Sekira nya anak tempatan menjadi isu UMNO/BN untuk menentang Zaid, saya cadangkan BN/UMNo lihat report card si Deris dan Isa ADUN BN tu dahulu sebelum dia backfire dan nasihatkan lah Zainal Sakom supaya tutup sahaja mulut dia tu jangan memalukan diri dan UMNO sahaja.

Soalan: jika kerusi yg ada 19 peratus pengundi India tak diberi kpd MIC, kerusi mana yg nak diberi MIC? Yang di tengah-tengah Kelantan dan Terengganu ke?
Pengundi India dikatakan dah mula sejuk hati kepada Umno-BN, jadi jika diletak calon Melayu di kawasan mereka ramai pengundi dan menjadi kerusi tradisi India (MIC), mungkin mereka lari.
Kalau nak diberi kerusi kpd MIC hanya di mana ada majoriti kaum India, mana ada beb? Kalau kat Singapore ada - di Serangoon.
Jadi bagaimana nak selesaikan masalah ini? Atau anda nak sarankan diboikot saja MIC selagi ada Semi Value?
Dilema besar untuk Umno-BN, sebab Pakatan bijak kerana berkata: Tak kira bangsa apa pun kami letak, kami berjuang atas dasar, bukan bangsa.
Mungkin dasar parti mengikut kaum ni dah sampai masanya dibubarkan? Jadi di masa depan Umno-BN boleh letak calon Melayu di mana saja, 100 peratus?

If that is the case, then Umno must put candidates in 90% of all constituencies. This is because, most of them are Malay majority seats. Umno doesn't need BN if this is the case.

Nak sangat orang Melayu hingga dapat calun orang Melayu yang terpaksa mengumumkan "Saya pun Melayu" kerana sudah hilang ciri-ciri keMelayuaan.
Macam mana dia ngaku jadi suara rakyat? Sebagai orang Kelantan, Zaid malu nak ngaku Kelantan. Dia seolah-olah malu nak kecek Kelate.

It is a sad day indeed when a person like you proposes that the only way for BN to win is by nominating a Malay candidate although you are, in my opinion, absolutely right.But it is a sad state of affairs.....I have always felt that given the kind of rhetoric from many quarters of the Malay leaders-govt and non-govt-they have created a "chicken and egg" situation in that the majority of the Malay population have been led to believe that loans, houses, non-necessity to repay loans, education, etc etc are their rights whether they merit it or not. To take advantage of this intrinsic belief, politicians keep jumping on this bandwagon by fanning the belief amongst them that this part of the Malaysian population-who are in the majority in most constituencies purely by fact of procreation (and who have done so because of the fact that whoever is the govt. will look after their children with welfare, education, etc to keep getting their ever increasing votes)- are entitled to many things at the expense of other peoples of Malaysia even if the others are more qualified. If this trend continues, Dato', there will come a time soon enough when our Parliament will, at least as far as West Malaysia is concerned , be 100% Malay MP's. And what quality of MP's-the kind that played on racial sentiment to win the votes of the majority in the election and who, during their tenure in Parliament, will continue to play on this with the next elections in mind. But will they be looking after the interests of even their Malay constituents? What happens to the interests of the Malaysians whose forefathers developed the tin mines, the roads, the towns the businesses, the govt administration. When to the BN, race becomes a factor in selecting a candidate, then it is a reflection of the way of thinking of the Malay population-that many of them will only vote on a racial basis and not on party or on the personal capabilities and quality of a candidate-Malay, Chinese, Indian,Kadazan, etc. They have got used to the hand-outs, they believe in all the rhetoric of the self-serving politicians and they are lost. They will be left with a formerly beautiful country (where people of different cultures lived and worked),that would end up poor, with disharmony and suspicion amongst the peoples with all its ramifications.
But Dato', you are right-for BN to win the HS by-election, they MUST choose a Malay candidate. But then what will be the message that will be sent by BN? But you are right Dato'. The sad thing is that when Malays like you think like this then what is the difference between you, Ibrahim Ali,Mohd Noh, etc.

In this instance your reasoning seemed to have missed the mark(contradiction in blaming palanieval for not doing the job but then justifying your selection of a malay candidate because he is that - a malay candidate). Mr Remgold seemed to have nailed it. Shouldn't it be someone who can do the job instead of semeone with the right kulitfication? One of your commentator seemed to indicate that the chinese in Penang is voting based on their skin colour but i bet if LGE did a Palanieval he wont be there long.

Why worry, let HS voters decide lah. If Zaid has so much baggage, UMNO should be very happy. So why complain ?
