The Conduct of BN Lawmakers

UMNO and BN can be described as recalcitrant parties. The people from UMNO are simply ill-mannered. Any observer who comes into parliament hall to witness on-going debates will be appalled at the moronic and low-class antics of the UMNO and BN reps. They can’t answer arguments with reasons, they respond by shouts and heckles.
These people are no match for the likes of Rafizi, Surendran, Ong Kian Meng, Tony Pua, Anthony Loke. Gobind Singh strikes fear in the hearts of BN lawmakers. Sivarasa will gnaw into you with his uncompromising reasoning.
There are doctors, lawyers, aeronautics engineer, surgeons, and I can’t exhaust the list. The looming quietly confident PAS ustazs. The Pakatan women MPs who can carry themselves with much substance.
These are the people who will carry Malaysia to new heights. I don’t have to mention the presence of the irrepressible warhorses like Kit Siang, Karpal et al. and of course, there is the pervading presence of the man who simply refuses to fade away- Anwar Ibrahim, UMNO’s bête noir. The quality of opposition lawmakers is of benchmarking standard.
I have already developed immunity against these insults. When I rose to speak, there will be UMNO heckling saying- he must be saying what Lim Kit Siang asks him to. Or that, my tokong is the Lim Family.
That’s the behaviour from a group which knows they did not get the moral support. They didn’t forget they won on technical grounds. BN haven’t forgotten it won only 47% of the popular votes. They are saved only by gerrymandered constituencies. UMNO in particular won in many areas where the voter population is perhaps only half of the voter population won by opposition PR. PR won 51% of the popular votes while the other 2 % was accounted for by various independent parties. The fact was, in the 13th GE, 53% of the voters did not support BN.
The arrogance is carried into the august chamber of parliament. This is the 12th day in the disappearance of flight MH370. The PM and the Minister of Transport were never in parliament to explain and inform lawmakers of the missing plane.
Compare this to how the Australian PM treats parliament. He treats parliament as it should be treated. It’s an institution deserving of respect and a duty which is almost filial like. Unfortunately, the arrogance which is second nature to UMNO and BN is shown in the conduct unbecoming of the PM and the minister of the occasion- the transport minister.
The case of the missing flight MH370 is a national calamity which unites everyone in grief and intense agony. The Minister of Transport cannot use the infantile excuse of not being asked by Pakatan Rakyat to brief them on what’s going on. In these times he cannot choose to be partisan. As a responsible person holding office accountable to the whole country, it behoves him to present himself in parliament every day in fact to brief the entire parliament.
The PM should respond appropriately and heed the calls of PR parliamentarians to form a parliamentary select committee to look into this matter.

When PR comes into federal power,we will see more professionals as ministers.Until then we have to bare with the animal mentality of the present batches of ministers and their pack of hooligans.

See the behavior and words of Azalina Othman of Penggerang yesterday?
A backlane heshe has more decorum and sophistication than her.
How was it that once she was a Putri Umnob leader and a cabinet member????
No wonder the Umnob youngs are now more like Um-porno activists.

Less than three days and we will know the results of the Kajang by-election.A big win by Wan Azizah and we can say that the PKR is still preferred by the people over the Mca.

The only unhappy guy is Azmin Ali.He is still a sour grapes over the polls favoring Khalid as MB over him.Azmin of no MB material should take Rafizi and migrate back to Umno.Umno will welcome him back with open arms as they did with Ezam.

Excellent analysis of the Malaysian lawmakers. The ruling government is arrogant beyond description and has failed in their duty to the citizens & victims and families of the missing MH370.
It is a national crisis and they have got the audacity to exclude about half of the parliamentary lawmakers from MH370 briefing.Instead of holding this grief-strickened parliamentary briefing in our Parliament house, they feasted in an expensive hotel. This is a witness against them. Who paid for the hotel bill which they must give accountability. In Malaysia now, we already have a 2 party-system for check & balance; but the ruling arrogant regime is doing everything to eliminate the Opposition. In UK, the Opposition is known as Her Royal Majesty's Loyal Opposition Party. More than 50% of Malaysian rakyat is with you the Opposition and we pray that you lawmakers will soon be recognised by our King as His Yang Pertuan Agong's loyal's Opposition and soon to be the new government to clean up our beloved country.

BN/UMNO is a lost cause & beyond hope. They are a bunch of idiots, morons & behave like monkeys. Totally have no moral values at all. May God save us all.

We knew, as if on cue, that Hishamuddin, the PM, IGP and Home minister would screw thia one up like they did with Lahad Datu invasion. It would certainly surprised us if they handle it well. After all, our beloved country is run by the Do-Re-Mi government. Any of the opposition leaders would have done a much much better job for certain.

the mean machine,

Not some but many of BN MPs and Senators can't speakee Inglish well. In the course of duty I happen to encounter with many of our elected/appointed political reps.

Few years back I happened to meet 7 Malaysian senators over a dinner in Istanbul. 4 UMNO, 2 MCA and 1 MIC. They were on their way back to KL after attending world-wide senators conference in Ankara. The UMNO senators' english was like makcik pakcik kampung english, MCA senators the jinjang type and MIC senator the estate type. Not only their english but their dressing too was like makcik pakcik kampung, jinjang and estate types. My collegue and I just wondered how the world look at Malaysia. And the topic they discussed over the dinner... not worth mentioning.

We Aussies know that when it's time for a fair go, we go bipartisan. Not so in Malaysia when lynch mob mentality prevails with the incumbents. Kajang results shall chart the direction of where Malaysia is headed but don't expect BN to act otherwise. The Bomohgate confirms that they wear tempurungs all the time.

It's the same in some hotels lounges in the city and in the other towns... just the other day at the Citi Coffee Lounge in Cititel Mid Valley in KL, we overheard an UMNO MP said loudly and authoritatively to a waitress "Engkau tahu saya siapa? Kalau tak tahu pergi Tanya GM awak!"

The MP actually looked stupid because i) the waitress was a Cambodian waitress, and ii) her Malay was just very basic sufficient to take orders in the menu...

Salam Dato'.

Standard MP BN, cap ayam. Menteri Cap ayam. Bercakap pakai lutut. Tiada fakta. sampah dan hanya tahu menyalak. itulah sebab Najib banyak guna konsultan utk pikir macam mana nak buat sesuatu dasar .
MP Bn hanya tau sapu duit dan peruntukkan dan nak boncitkan perut.

Anonymous,  22 March 2014 at 12:43

Agree totally with you Dato. Our opposition MPs are 100 times more capable & talented than those idiots, crooks, corrupted & morons from UMNO/BN.

drop the ketuanan attitude and mindset and coupled with a strong opposition and we might just see a semblance of what a mature parliament would look like...that is, for the people and by the people.... as it is the BN lawmakers think the people owes them a leaving
