Are Anwar’s chickens coming home to roost?

Maybe Anwar is troubled with the move to send him to jail on a fabricated charge of sodomy, and now for being the 'mastermind' behind the church attacks as well. In that case take sabbatical leave and go solve your personal problems first. And after your personal problems have been solved then come back into active political life.

These were perhaps the biggest understatements thus far- Anwar Ibrahim is to take leave to solve his personal problems? Why should Anwar Ibrahim listen to RPK when he refused a similar advice which Tun Mahathir gave him in the first place? Didn't Dr Mahathir ask Anwar to leave quietly with the unspoken possibility of coming back later? Anwar didn't because his way is lawan tetap lawan.

He could have gone abroad, dealt with his personal problems, which are known only to RPK, come back a few years later and claim leadership of UMNO. That would have been possible because the Malays are a forgiving lot who easily forgets personal transgressions.

The truth is that would have been so un-Anwar. He needs to fight to stay relevant. So, please don't go on sabbatical. Stay and waste the government. Stay and stand your ground to sexpose expose the evil machinations of the evil government.

Anwar Ibrahim knows of only one way to solve his personal and that not to be mentioned in- front- of- kids problem. That is by creating as much chaos and anarchy as possible. That is why he is going on a series of road shows to accuse the government of masterminding a second sodomy case.

We have not even gone before the courts. We would like to hear the arguments of his lawyers. He will have every chance to defend himself and to rebut the charges proffered by the evil government prosecutors. If Ghani Patail is leading the case for the government, he is placing himself at the mercy of being methodically dissected by Anwar's legal team. If he is not, then his replacement will bear the additional liability of defending his name.

The court case should be the ideal place and avenue for Anwar and his legal team to abuse the government mercilessly. Wouldn't his day in court be the best forum to expose the government with a list of wrongdoings? Wouldn't his day in court be the perfect forum to bring down the evil 'Reichstag' government on its knees and usher in a new millennium at Putrajaya?

That's why he needs to go around the country to paint this second sodomy case as being part of a government conspiracy to finish him off for good. The funny thing is- the government doesn't seem to be beleaguered. Instead we have the government behaving as though it already has sufficient material to finish Anwar off legally. The government is not flustering while Anwar and his team are behaving all muddled up.

Admittedly, this way of facing off Anwar is most beastly. It would have been sweeter to explode the hollowness of Anwar- his policies, his politics and his thinking through democratically sanctioned ways.

Anwar's chickens have come home to roost.

We, the public want to know whether there is credence in the rumours and whispers going around that poor Saiful fellow didn't go to the toilet for days so as to contain body fluids from foreign bodies allowing medical experts to test them. And I am not talking about international relations.

We wish Anwar all the best. If he manages to overcome this biggest hurdle, and somehow gets to Putrajaya, he will have his chance to clear his name once and for all.

If you are in DSAI shoe, you will do the same.

"If he manages to overcome this biggest hurdle, and somehow gets to Putrajaya, he will have his chance to clear his name once and for all.".

I, for one, am not holding my breath. People (politicians) have a despicable way of changing their tune once they get to a position of power.

Anwar as PM? Same old, same old. I'd prefer Zaid Ibrahim anytime. Or, even Karpal Singh.

Dato'

I am sure you have seen how corrupted Gani Patail and IGP are..look at the Rosli and his lawyer's cases.

Look at what Kevin Morais from MACC say during interrogation.

During Anwar's Sodomy 1 trial, the Judge was so bias ..everything is irrelevant.

The next judge will be the same.
How can Anwar win this sodomy 2 trial?

Sir,

I can see that you have absolute trust in our police and judiciary.

For me, a big NO, especially when it involves political issues.

To each his own.

Zul 23 January 2010 at 08:30

Dear Dato,

Should I call you Dato? Since Sultan has given you the title and I respect the Sultan, I am obliged to call you Dato.

What option do Anwar have? Anwar can argue whatever he wants in court, he can forward his argument as airtight as possible, he still lose and go to jail.

What trust did he got with Malaysian judiary? Sodomy 1 is a proof of that, and yet Dato ramble about it. Time has change la Dato, we are not in 1997. The problem with Badawi and now Najib, they live in 1997/8.....and still thought they do....

Anonymous,  23 January 2010 at 08:45

Dato, whatever it is, the coming trial is going to be explosive worst than the issue on ALLAH.
Why can't the government think about it.
Entah la Dato', kita rakyat biasa juga yang jadi mangsa.
Kita kena sabar je ke Tok?!!!

Ariff Sabri 23 January 2010 at 10:28

zul,
which part bothers you?
the part that you have to call me dato?
the part that you respect the Sultan?
the part about sodomy 1 is a conspiracy like you alleged and therefore sodomy 2 must be one.

why dont you write about which one so that all can debate about it.

Are You Gonna Go My Way,  23 January 2010 at 11:36

Anwar does have a choice...remember that famous word "Anwar mesti bertaubat".

Even without this sodomy case, Anwar is still a bullshit. However since you all are liberal minded people maybe..sodomy is acceptable in your society. Its just an ass no big deal..its already part of normal sexual activities just like oral sex. Your ass , my ass...

"Father Donald Cozzens, an author, psychologist, and Catholic seminary president says that there is such a high percentage of gay priests in the church that he is concerned that 'the priesthood is or is becoming a gay profession.' In his book, "The Changing Face of the Priesthood," -- published in the year 2000 -- he estimates that 50% of Roman Catholic priests have a homosexual orientation"

If you can accept a gay priest, of course you can accept a gay prime minister. No hal....

Dato,

"If he manages to overcome this biggest hurdle, and somehow gets to Putrajaya, he will have his chance to clear his name once and for all.". - I fully agree with you on this statement. In that case, since PM IS in Putrajaya, please ask him to clear his name once and for all with regards to Altantuya case. Rakyat would like to listen to his side of the story

What Annuar achieved is far far more important than any weakness he may have.

He is the one that transformed a more responsive govts to the rakyat politics.

Before you just need to swallow the arrogance beyond imagination. Do you see that now?

He is the one who for the first time make a possible two alternatives to govern thus giving the country a chance to recover from the disastrous ways we are undergoing now.

For that we are grateful.. at least we have a choice and a chance.

He may not have the best virtues. He has made what seemingly impossible to be possible.

Anyone can do that ? Including those who criticise him?

Udah-udah le tu Nuar.
Masuk ajelah jel.
Cukuplah postpone here, postpone there.
Senang sikit Malaysia ni tanpa ko.
Kau banyak memperorak-perandakan negara.
Kesianlah anak buah aku si Epol tu.
Dahlah kau lanyak dia. Dia pulak yang jadi cacian orang yang fanatik dengan ko.
He just cant win.
Is that what you call justice???

Sad Malaysian,  23 January 2010 at 19:24

Sakmongkol, you disappoint us again. The first Sodomy trial was so obviously biased and your opinion don't seem to be influenced by that. And what about the medical report that testify no penetration? Sheesh.

Ariff Sabri 23 January 2010 at 19:51

sad malaysian,

sorry to disappoint you yet again. lets contest the medical report in court- not in the media.
you have 9 lawyers against how many this time?
oh yes the judiciary is rotten to the core- but in the Allah case, its sanguine.
but dont despair- didn't i wish Anwar the best here?

Quiet Despair,  23 January 2010 at 21:02

Mr Sak
Don't have to apologise to what you believe in.
Your so-called fans are only interested if you go Malay, Muslim and Umno bashing.
Stand up for what you think is right.

The fact that they have to bring Anwar down through a sodomy case shows how desperate the BN is. They can't catch him through more serious charges (eg. corruption, murder) reflects how strong an opponent Anwar is. At least both sides of the political divide will agree on one thing-the Courts will find him guilty. His supporters will say that the courts will be manipulated to reach the decision, while his detractors will laud the decision as divine justice.

Can't agree more with quiet despair,
I'm sick of being nice and apologetic.keep on playing with moderate Malay sentiments.mocking us to,trying to 'educate' us , treating us like those colonials with the 'white man burden'. I'm bored of of those telling me 'oh what u say are not what the majority malay muslim felt' . Let me tell u a secret.U don't know what the general Malay felt. The Allah issues has had us set 2 steps behinds thinking our future predicament.
Make such noise over justice, judges against anwar's sodomy case but when court granted usage of Allah , you celebrate like there's no tomorrow.
Call me backward,kampung,mundur whatever.I don't care.You don't represent the majority.

macam mana nak sokong umno lagi.. hanya kerana anwar sorang huru-hara bn.. mana kredibiliti pemimpin umno? mana pemimpin umno yang dapat menandingi anwar? bila dah ada nanti baru boleh fikir semula nak sokong umno atau tak..

wow Dato Arif Sabri .....finally i found you .class of M.C.E 1973...

Quiet Despair's Take:
Damn Anwar! He has memperorak-perandakan negara to escape justice. He just can't accept the GOVERNMENT has got all the evidences and charges to jail him, to see justice for poor si-epol is served and for good of Malaysia!

Malaysian Justice is made poor and enslaved by the Government determined, abusing all means (and si-efoul) to be the sole Judge, Jury and Executioner to serve political interest that is narrow and personal! (Indeed, would ever the JUDGEMENT of this case meet a single test for a Case Reference?)

Do ALL Malaysians want to see SUCH justice to win?

Bukalah mata. Apa tiada orang setanding dengan si Peliwat tu.
What has he done? Only good as Abim boss.
Sebagai Menteri Pelajaran fail. Sebagai Menteri Kewangan lagi fail.
Sebagai TPM, Ghafar Baba lagi bagus. God bless his soul.
Janganlah taksub sangat.
Sebagai PKR de facto leader, nil performance. Bawah dagu Lim Kit Siang je.
Nik Aziz jangan ceritalah kehebatannya.Carte blance because Anwar is a paper tiger.
Red Alfa.
Justice?? Yeah right.
Only when Anwar is free of all you inferred as gross injustice.
Think. Would a sodomy accusation comes twice if he is innocent.
Like Jamal JB said only when you win is justice served.
You go to town including the world for denigrating Allah.
Now the suraus are attacked, you keep quiet.
Did Zorro Unmasked or that Looney said anything.
No siree. Not a peep.
Your ideal of justice is indeed skewered.
You want to see Saiful lost the case.
So the victim is further victimised and the perpetrator is lauded and hailed as a possible PM.
As long as there are Malays, that wont happen dude.
Like as said in my previous posting, now Malays and Muslim are treated like the minority in the Allah issue.

Sad Malaysian,  24 January 2010 at 09:45

"lets contest the medical report in court- not in the media."
Nothing to say about Sodomy 1 and "not relevant" late judge plus the clearly flawed judgement? Those are history and open to discussions.

"you have 9 lawyers against how many this time?"
What is the use of a battalion of lawyers against an ex-UMNO Chief Justice and a compromised judiciary? Would you defend the judiciary when a former Chief Justice Eusoff Chin can make such a ridiculous judgement as in the fraudulent land transfers and cavort with the likes of that rouge VK Lingam? Plus many clear cut cases.

"oh yes the judiciary is rotten to the core- but in the Allah case, its sanguine"
It is fortunate that not all are corruptible, but then, how many cases had been won at the lower courts and overturned at the Court of Appeal? I believe you are realist enough to know what I am talking about.

And since you are a member of the ruling political party, do make an effort to persuade the AG to issue that authority to Karpal Singh to persecute VK Lingam for after all Nazri had offered him the chance to anyone willing to do that.

Greenbottle 24 January 2010 at 16:52

i don't understand our collective hypocricy here... on the one hand we accept philandering uumno politicians who screw all kinds of female prostitutes but we can't stand a gay politician? it's just another hole for christsake...

i personally don't care if anwar has predeliction to screw male goats...i think the argument should be, is he a good politician and better serve malaysia than the current crop of pirates?

i think he may be (although i personally prefer PAS politicians myself)...

Locky Blu,  24 January 2010 at 22:05

Dear Dato',

This is a case between Saiful and Anwar Ibrahim. Not between Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat or Najib vs Anwar. Rileks, let's the court decide. After all, we all hailed the court for being so fair in the Allah issue, right? Let's not be selective. Saiful needs his justice too, not just Anwar.

flyingman,  25 January 2010 at 13:50

Im not a Malaysian...but from what i see and hear regarding Anwar..

He is one big traitor..willling to sacrifice his race and even religion let alone country just to make sure that he is able to achieve his goal - TO BE PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA.

I dont understand why there are still malays out there who support this beast. So you all think UMNO and BN is corrupt and rotten? But can you have the assurance that PKR will be so corruption free if it rule Malaysia? Im very sure it will be worse.

Anwar should prove himself in court, not by having roadshows prior to the court date. If its a government official who do road show prior to a trial, Anwar will be the first to condemn that person act.

Dear Malaysian, especially Malays, bangunlah dan sedarlah, your rights and "kemerdekaan" are slowly eroding..thanks to you Malays supporting PKR, which of course has DAP in it..

Sigh..sigh..

Malay oh Malay..

shamshul anuar,  26 January 2010 at 23:43

Dear flyingman,

Yes Sir. you got it right.

As far as I can see, Anwar is the worst Malay politician whom I have ever seen.

I remember UMNO protesting his candidacy for permatang pauh way back in 1982. They wanted someone who is older and not that "rebellious".

They appealed to Tun dr mahathir through Pak lah. Pak Lah, in his trademark of wanting to help, supported Anwar's candidacy. Out of respect to Pak lah and Tun Dr Mahathir, UMNO leaders in Permatang pauh supported anwar.

what did Pak Lah got in return? Anwar backstabbed him by wresting the post of Penang UMNO Chief from Pak Lah.

And after telling the world that he respected Tun Ghaffar as a "father figure", Anwar on the very next day announced his intention( or rather his unlimited nafsu) to contest the post of UMNO Deputy President.

Can't he wait? He had given the word not to challenge Tun Ghaffar.

in 2008, Anwar during an interview in Jakarta, condemned UMNO left right and center, calling it as full of corruption. Did he forget that he is the principal "beneficiary" of money politics that he himself encouraged.

And he refused to swear. No Muslim who is accused ( if he is telljng the truth) will reject the "time tested" method of invoking divine intervention.

Why? As Malay says it aptly "Berani kerana benar".

Anwar oh anwar. Are you not tired of this game that eventually will destroy you beside becoming the man who destroy Muslim political power?

The truth shall prevail.
