The interesting case of Adam Radlan and the possible monetization of our justice. Sontoloyo series no 10.

1. At the time he was charged, he was bersatus segambut chief.

2. He was charged of asking 6.7m from contractors. To get some projects under the Janawibawa program.

3. His lawyers negotiated with the prosecution. To get their client off the hook .

4. To sweeten the deal, he was willing to pay 4.1m.

5. The prosecution agreed.

6. But only he be given a DNAA.

7. Of course the whole deal was done on the quiet.

8. So today, this fellow , Adam is fully discharged and free.

9. By paying a fine of 4.1m.

10. Remember, 3 parties were involved here. The defense lawyers, the prosecution team and the judge.

11. If I were the SPRM , I would investigate all 3 parties.

12. To find out, whether there is racket involving justice, or specically a ruling favourable to the defendant is available.

13. Perhaps those given DNAA should contact the lawyers for Adam. Like wak jahid for instance.

14. Make a deal with the accommodating judge .

15. Only now we have uncovered a new thing. A judgement favourable to you is available for a price .

16. The prosecution and the judge were persuaded to give full discharge. 17. SPRM should investigate the nature of this persuasion.

18. Now, those with deep pockets all know their justice can be purchased.

19. Those with no or little money like those caught stealing a few cans of powdered milk or milo can happily look at being a 'special guest' at the various 'resorts '.

20. You may remember, I told you of the story of a friend telling me , all these denizens of the law are like eggs. They come in various grades .

21. I must now add another grade. Rotten eggs.

22. They can be found sometimes in an egg tray.

23. This is something serious- this Adam radlan case . It has inadvertently shown ' something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Read as something stinks in our justice system.

24. There may be a racket selling justice. It involves lawyers and judges.

25. There is a caste system in our law. Brahmins can look forward to DNAA, full discharge, partial pardon, house arrest and so on. Oh, good are the gilded days .

26. Untouchables and dalits can expect 2nd and 3rd class lifestyles at various government ' resorts'.

27. I am now suspicious at courts giving plaintiffs DNAA. Perhaps SPRM should investigate all of them. Also maybe now, SPRM should have its lawyer doing a watching brief in all high profile cases.

28. I am not going to amplify and embellish the universally true observation that the big fish gets away with murder, the small fry, well gets fried .

29. It's so cliche and blase.

30. Have I told you about a friend, a former MB who tells of a document he sighted that says the incidence of corruption is highest in the judiciary?

31. Even higher compared to the incidence among MPs . Maybe in frequency but not in magnitude.

32. Corruption it seems, has invaded the hallowed halls of the judiciary.

33. Corruption is indeed part of our social DNA. The great tun Razak once said, corruption is the grease that lubricates the engine. It has certainly lubricate Adam's engine.

34. After paying 4.1m fine , he still has 2.6m. Obtained by corruption if you remember

35. Enough to share possibly with the prosecutor and the judge. Got balance summore.

36. The balance can be given to Rafizi . Not for his own use but to pay for lawyers acting for the untouchables and dalits.

37. But what is frightening, these transgressions are happening under the watch of the man avowedly the most anti sakau.
