The MIC Dilemma

My bet is, its not going to be curtains down yet for Samy. He's not saying his long goodbye. He makes sure everything is in order. He wont want his legacy to evaporate as soon as he leaves.  He will deal one last lethal blow to his political adversaries. He will most likely sack  Dato Subramaniam. That will pave the way for a clearer succession plan for Minister Subramaniam and Palanivel. Samy has Sothinathan to look out for. Most probably Sothy will  be given a post to prevent him becoming a spoiler.
Everyone seems to be writing off Samy Vellu. He is said to be discredited. The MIC is said to be better off getting rid of him. The people behind GAS are perplexed as to why the BN leadership, in particular DS Najib still tolerate Samy Vellu.
Just suppose, Samy Vellu is asked to go now. who shall fill in the leadership vacuum? Minister Subra? Whisky Subra? Anyone else? None with his presence. He is MIC's MGR. Samy is bigger than Sivaji the Boss. Samy is King.
As paradoxical as it may sound, the MIC still needs Samy Velly to lead MIC. The other people don't have his presence. Now, you can interpret his 'presence' as anything- ranging from a bullying posture, daring people to fight him, baring his hairy chest. You name it, but the MIC needs Samy Vellyu still.
What will happen is , Samy Vellu will draw up a succession plan. He will go off on his terms. As to the BN leadership, they need a solid MIC to support them. MCA can no longer be relied on to deliver votes as its supremacy among Chinese is challenged by other Chinese parties. MIC on the other hand, doesn't have a credible challenger. HIndraft? It has gone limp even before engaging. PPP? It's a basket case reduced to begging for scraps in the form of MP and ADUN seats.
For all we know, Samy may have struck a deal with the BN chairman. He is committed to relinquish the MIC post and probably has presented the BN chairman with an acceptable succession plan. He may probably be appointed as an elder MIC ombudsman, advising the MIC while playing the role as point man between MIC and BN. On top of that, in recent months, Samy Vellu has helped secured UEM some valuable infrastructure contracts in India. In recognition of that, maybe the PM will appoint Samy as ambassador at large to tap the Indian market.
In recent days, we heard vintage Samy declaring that those who are out to destroy MIC will be politically killed off. What is the weapon that he has? He has demonstrated the efficacy of the weapon by sacking a few MIC stalwarts . he has executive presidential powers which he can and has used to kill off pesky MIC members.
So, at the end of the MIC assembly this weekend, we can expect Samy Vellu to deal his final blows on those MIC members he regards as threats who are out to destroy MIC.
I am betting, that he will sack whisky Subramaniam.

The Southern Indians, whom Samy leads adore 'villeins. They don't admire softies like Subra or Palani.

Show your fist, open your chest to expose your hair, shout in a commanding voice then sing a Tamil song.
Wow, the whole crowd will swoon.

If Samy leaves MIC, the party will disintegrate. Why? Everyone down the line wants to be leader, wants positions, wants favours, wants recognition.
Only Samy has the power to keep them leased.
Indians do not know how to unite. This small community is splintered like no other. Even Hindraf is spilt.
PPP, IPF, Makkal Sakti, Hindraf, MIDP, Kimma.
These parties exist in name.
Indians in Malaysia will disintegrate by their own folly.
No need to blame BN.

If Mahathir whom I accuse at http://donplaypuks.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-accuse-drmahathir-mohamad-jaccuse.html can voluntarily resign after 23 years in power, so can Wigs.

No one is indispensable, least of all Wigs! As for his successor, "cometh the hour, cometh the man!!"

those Indians in political parties as members are not middle class up or rich people as members unlike MCA. These are all illiterate people from estates or from suburbs with less education.

Today, most middle class Indians join DAP, PKR or they are not interested in politics at all......

I know many middle class Indians who hates all this pemimpin India syok sendiri....

Samy vellu can be cremated soon with his Maika share certificates and his stupid Wig from radio RTM juruhebah days...

Mahathir was also sacked from UMNO.
He returned to lead the party for many years.
It can happen at MIC too.

BN should do away with racial party and racism....they should combine all into 1...

Dap have very minority malay members, PAS has members for Penyokong Bukan Islam which they going to change to a group within pary members, PKR is multiracial.....

BN should dissolve MIC, MCA and UMNO while PPP Gerakan SUPP boleh dibubarkan terus....

Have Liberal, Conservative, Labour party types in Malaysia....no need racist party with racist agenda including racist chinese in MCA and racist Indians in MIC....

What is so difficult to understand why Najib won't move against Samy Vellu. Because the Indian feudal warlord would fight each other constantly and cause even more headache to BN. When you chop off the head of the big snake, all you get is a mess.

There is one way to challenge Samy Vellu and that is for PR - PKR and DAP Indian leaders to get together and do a PR Indian Bureau. Its risky but if I were LKS and Anwar, I would encourage it with the conditions they have got to set clear organisational structure.

There is one thing unique in MIC.
The vast majority of members are illiterates from the estates, and labourers, drivers, blue collar workers, etc. In their midst there will be some teaches, civil servants, a few executives who will whip up racist sentiments from the gullible under class.
These members vote with emotions. No thinking, no brain, no analysis, no filtering.
These opposing group even fight for their 'masters' and in return get nothing.
Then they return to their ramshackle homes to eat plain rice, resam, dhall and salted fish.

You get the leader you deserved. So the Indans deserved Semi-Value.
Who died and made him king in the first place.
Najib must be brave to sack him. Him and him alone.
He's nothing but a big bully. And bully actually is a coward.
They will grovel if given a taste of their own medicine.
Once Najib sacks him, he will come crawling, or go on bended knees.
"Ayoyo mintak ampun, mintak maaf."
It may create a storm like the proverbial k..... karam, but after that it will be forgotten.
And Samy rides away in the sunset.
Samy must be taught no one is indsipensable.
He is now gloating because he still reigns supreme despite calls for him to step down.
Gloating because he won over Najib who conceded to hs demands but he did not resign as promised after Kamal won and Vel became senator and Deputy Minister.
Cant Najib see that he's being played out by The Wig one.
Or Najib has his own game to play.

Quiet Despair,  9 July 2010 at 16:45

In the name of executive powers, Samy is sacking people left, right and centre.
Soon there will be no MIC leaders left except him, Vel and his Vel fairy son.
A party of one with two blind, deaf and dumb apparatchik.

MUERTE MIC.

Tuan,
UMNO needs Samy more than MIC.The recent Hulu Selangor election is a testimony of that. Samy won not kamalanathan. Palanivel made senator and Deputy miinister ( soon ). Samy will never abandon MIC until his son Velpari is throned the King.He is already being appointed in the Central Committee. He is also the CEO of MAIKA Holdings. The girl friend who allegedly committed suicide is cremated ; so case closed.UMNO companies need Samy for projects in India.Samy has a lot of unfinished business to conclude. He sent gangsters to intimidate the Gerakan Anti Samy ( GAS ).Afterall MIC is full of underclass indians.
Samy doesn't need the educated and upperclass indian support. So they have to perpetuate illiteracy and poverty among the downtrodden to remain in power.

Samy will only give up his position in MIC when he gets his Tunship, period. Then he will be the only living Indian in MIC with the Tun title and be hailed as the MIC carTun god.

Navi 10 July 2010 at 11:25

Dato',

Samy will continue to rule for the next year and will only leave on his own terms. None in this supreme council comes near him on holding MIC together.
Whiskey Subra is a goner - should have gone long ago but hanging on hoping the good old days will be here again. His support stems from members who are from his 'kampong' back in India.
Sothi is no leader having risen from being Samy's yes man; definitely not on his personal qualities.
Minister Subra seems a good choice to succeed Samy, but will Samy let him challenge his appointed Palanivel. Palanivel has not shown any positive qualities except to ride on Samy's patronage.
Come to think of it, MIC has no capable leaders and is bound to disintegrate on Samy's departure.
