Sakmongkol AK47 with Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah(3)

Then there was also the tantalising information that TRH first when to China before Tun Razak's historic visit to the Middle Kingdom in 1974. Not many people knew that Zhou En Lai gave a Chinese painting to TRH. It was a painting of prancing horses. I am sure those who are connoisseurs at Chinese Painting know the symbolism and significance of horses.

Anyway, the interesting thing is the leadership of the present Chinese Communist Party of China is interested to purchase this painting. Even though Zhou En Lai did not paint the picture, the Chinese appreciate the historical significance of the painting. More importantly, China reveres the personality associated with the gift. It knows how to respect its leader. When an official from CP of China saw the painting, he made an offer to buy that painting. I understand, during the time I was talking to TRH; a few appraisers were in TRH's office to put a value to that painting.

John and I entered the room that serves as TRH's office. This room is probably similar to the oval office in the real white house. We sat ourselves in two comfortable swivel leather chairs facing each other with a small coffee table in between. John was sitting across in another sofa.

Tengku greeted me with the customary Asalammu-alaikum, Peace be with you. I answered in the usual way and extended my hand to shake his. John did too and in a remarkable show of almost a filial respect normally associated with a son's to a father, kissed TRH's hand. That left a deep impact on me, as I seldom see it done by a Chinese before.

TRH was wearing a full suit. Aware that it may be off-putting, TRH apologised for being over dressed saying that he had just come back from an official engagement outside.

Khairy sat on the very same chair you are now sitting. He talked to me for over an hour some time ago. TRH said as I asked him about the Pemuda UMNO race.

I knew the father very well. Jamaludin. We were Tun Razak's boys. He was doing foreign work for Tun and I was doing domestic things. I knew Khairy when he was 2 years old. Of course he wouldn't remember. I told him that when he was here the last time.

Yes, we did talk about the whole Ketua Pemuda business. This time, all three were mentioned.

Did you watch the debate between the three the other day? Unfortunately none came across to say anything concrete.

Ok let's see. Mukhriz Mahathir. What has he done? He hasn't done anything exceptional except asking for Pak Lah to resign. We have been asking that far longer than Mukhkriz did. Did you see him during the debate? I am dissapointed that Mukhriz failed to offer material of substance. People will continue seeing him as just riding on the name of Dr Mahathir.

You see, Dr Mahathir will come out backing Najib to the hilt.

But I protested, didn't TDM endorse you before?

Yes itu dulu. Now when Pak Lah leaves, he will support Najib vigorously- for MUkhriz. He wants Mukhriz to become the Ketua Pemuda.

It is unfortunate- but .... see none of them offering any concrete ideas about the how the country is doing and what we are going to do about it. I am fearful for the future of this country.

Before TRH continued, I said; Tengku since you mentioned Tun Razak, may I say something about the seminar Legasi Tun Razak which you spoke at?

I told TRH that I was very disappointed the event became nothing more than an orgy of reminiscing and romancing a past long gone, instead of debating the ideas of Tun Razak. Hence you have people flown in from abroad regaling and enthralling the audience with personal anecdotes with TUn Razak.

Haha, it was just an excuse to further sideline me. I was just there to lend credence to the seminar.

Yes Tengku, I thought the real idea of the seminar was just to neutralise the bête noir of Malaysian politics- Tun Mahathir.

If people are serious to rediscover the legacy of Tun Razak, they would have given you more prominence.

By the way, the legasi was carried out by the very Ketua Pemuda candidate I am now supporting KJ. I am not going to split hairs with KJ on that. I am going to augustinepaul KJ's legasi Tun Razak.

Dato,

Make sense, if there is a draft TRH for Finance Minister or probably even PM, the right Ketua Pemuda for him is KJ.

Thot its TRH ppl that want to come out with the court injunction.

Some players are best put in midfield while some are better as attackers. Some are supersubs..they can create and produce spark of brilliance and magic moment….but its just a spark not really a fire. To be the maestro that controls the game ala Maradona or Platini you have to produce the magic at all time not just sparks of it….you have to produce fire. TRH might be great as a winger, he can provide the ball but not actually a scorer. Where should KJ position be? A Materazzi, where he can nuisance his way to keep the opponent irritated. The problem is not only the opponent became irritated but the spectators too. Even if you win, the spectators will hate your team.

TRH is the PM we never had? Maybe, but I wouldn’t trade TDM for TRH. It was unfortunate that TRH had to live in the same era as TDM. TDM was just a few notches above him and he has to accept that fact. I only want people that put this country and the Malays first before self interest. UMNO is only a tool to help the Malays not the Malays as a tool to gain power in UMNO and this country.

can't understand ur change of heart in supporting KJ.In my opinion he the best antedote 4 the downfall of UMNO in the future. UMNO needs a future leader the have a clean image. as u know KJ is the most despise person in M'sia. His face alone show a very questionable character. For the love of the country Tanah Melayu I pray that he wll be barnish from UMNO as soon as possible. If nor it's bye2 UMNO in the next election.

No matter how far you travel and what your destination is you will not fail to R&R at KJ. I hope KJ will not forget you if ever his mission to be the PM is accomplished. Your eulogy of KJ is just fantabulous outshining even his most hardcore loyalists and fanatics. What really made KJ so special? Other than being a NKP which was presented to him on a silver plate by virtue of being in the corridor of power, other than having proven that he can shout the loudest, other than being at the wrong place at the wrong time does he really have a convincing and good track record? His foes describe him as a liability and will continue to be a liability if he emerges victorious come Mar 2009. His failures are blatantly manifested in the last GE and subsequent by-elections. So Pemuda delegates exercise your god-given wisdom and intelligence.

but when these were done, UMNO approved them. Indeed UMNO accepted them as appropriate.

can his foes describe him otherwise?

Wah Al-Subangi 6 March 2009 at 23:03

Dato,

You said, "..but when these were done, UMNO approved them. Indeed UMNO accepted them as appropriate."

What's a few shouts and few instances in the wrong place in the wrong time.

Heck! he's almost the de-facto PM, who's going to stop him.

You said, "His foes describe him as a liability and will continue to be a liability if he emerges victorious come Mar 2009.

Guess not but afaik he picks the candidates for the 12 GE we already know what that do to FIL, as good as got hounded out of UMNO.

He should have taken the cue and cease and desist but no he still with his shenanigans in Permatang Pauh and KT, and who's going to stop him.

If that's not a liability I don't know what is.

Wah Al-Subangi 6 March 2009 at 23:07

Guess not but afaik he picks the candidates for the 12 GE we already know what that do to FIL, as good as got hounded out of OFFICE.

*sorry got hounded out of OFFICE not UMNO

Anonymous,  6 March 2009 at 23:10

Sak,

1.If truly UMNNO approved and accepted that as appropriate then I feel sorry for UMNO. The party will be facing an uphill battle to win the next GE.The rakyat who are the voters that count.

2. If KJ fanatics cannot deviate from their outlandish impressions of MM and KT, I doubt his foes will describe him otherwise.

wah@janggo,

Thanks. Sudah terang lagi bersuluh.

Hmmm... Who is 'KJ'? Siapa dia?

Back to TRH, I think this guy is bitter about TDM. He just despise Tun. So, hr despise Tun's son, Mukhriz. To TRH anybody, or any other 'creature' is better than Tun's son. Even a 'monkey' is better than Mukhriz to TRH.

Sad. Such 'busuk hati' TRH is. Is this the 'Malay'ness TRH is talking about.

I think 'busuk hati', toppling menoppling dalam UMNO is as bad as money politics.

TRH is one 'busuk hati' fella in UMNO.

Tun dah bagi lu muka and accepted you back to UMNO fold. But, no... You still despise him.

TRH, sakitlah hati sorang-sorang... susahkanlah diri sendiri. I dont think UMNO people would ever hate Tun the way you want it.

KJ and his antics - "but when these were done, UMNO approved them":

The UMNO that is said to be corrupt to the core approved them, so he will be a good leader?
