Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah in Kuantan.

A leader and his Leadership.

Yesterday, 7th of October, Tengku Razaleigh came to Kuantan. He came to celebrate Hari Raya with his supporters here in Kuantan. They came in the thousands. Of course you would not see this being reported in the MSM. Even the TV stations did not air their press conference with TRH yesterday.

TRH reiterated his readiness to offer leadership to the country and UMNO now. This is what the country needs now. While others are busy playing the game of this is yours and that is mine, TRH offers real hope to Malaysians and UMNO.

He says he will contest against Najib too if Najib makes it to the top. That’s because, the president’s post is not Pak Lah’s personal property to give away in the first place. And it is not something that can be unilaterally be decided upon by a much discredited MKT UMNO.

For Sakmongkol and other axed ADUNs in Pahang, the end of this first episode is a welcome relief. The road ahead becomes clearer. Sakmongkol and a number of axed ADUNs will be busy in the next few months, campaigning through our blogs and physically.

the 5 months will be a torturous trip for Dato Najib as well. Sakmongkol has already detected the first of the many salvos against Dato Najib. This one comes through the blog of stephendoss. Expect the unexpected. Ignore for the moment, any unsubstantiated links with the grisly murder of a Mongolian. There are other stories we can dwell.

For example, why was preference given to purchase 12 Eurocopters which could have gotten our country 197 units of India-built helicopters? And friends, plebeians and patricians, lend me your ears. The deal was signed by Dato Najib and not Pak Lah.

I believe Ku Li is the correct man for our times in Malaysia. Anectdotal evidence suggests that he was to have been Tun Razak's choice to lead Malaysia at some point.

Ku Li's record stands proudly until today. He was instrumental in setting up Pernas, Petronas, Bank Bumiputra in the 1970s. As someone who has done start-ups, I can say that it is never easy to "go where no one has gone before" in start-ups. Many non-Malays have always been wary of these institutions. But I don't share that view. Tun Razak's vision, as carried out by Ku Li, was to create institutions that would hold assets in trust (amanah) for Bumiputras until they can stand up for themselves and compete.

This vision was distorted by subsequent leaders. Instead of expressing outrage and indignance, Ku Li handled these adverse outcomes with the dignity of befitting a true Malaysian (and, I dare say, Asian) leader.

This should be his time. He has earned it. I can't vote in UMNO (of course). But if Ku Li leads BN, he may well be worthy of my vote.

The thing about the 'rahman' prophecy is that it doesn't say how long the man will last in the post. For all we know, the cycle may start all over again before next March. Which may mean the next R could be Razaleigh. In any case, one should be thankful it wasn't something like 'nostradamus'.

On second thoughts R could also stand for Rosmah. Shiver me timbers...

The bloody media!
It wasn't even mentioned!

`Somebody' is scared of Tengku Razaleigh's shadow, it seems ... wants a clear, unobstructed run to the president's post. So, it seems that the mainstream media has been given the signal to blank out TRH.

"For Sakmongkol and other axed ADUNs in Pahang..."...well,well,well.all these was about vengeance and all the baptism of fire was about losing out to 'the lucky ones'. Sak, I wonder would you ever blog if you're still under Jibby's 'payroll'...an anecdote to ponder perhaps.

Sakmongkol Sir,

Spent a week in Kelantan for Hari Raya. It seems that transition of power was not the main issue among UMNO grassroot. They would just go with the flow, or simply grab what is offered under the table.

And Ku Li has also admitted that he found it difficult to get nominations even from Kelantan, as dirty game has been played by division leaders loyal to Dollah.

Of course it is a great relief that the sun is setting on regime Dollah-Khairy. But it will be much much much more scary if the country is replaced by another regime, Najib-Isteri.

Why is Stephen Doss' blog empty? Zero?

Mat Cendana 9 October 2008 at 12:08

@the_willow
Hey dude: Sakmongkol has got his own group that he'll be campaigning for. And he was clear about Najib from Day One. So let's not care about him.

Erm, how about getting me on someone's payroll? Can or not?

Hai Mat Cendana,Hiyoo Silver!Sakmongkol is the 'Lone Ranger' and you are forever his very loyal 'Tonto'!Even I kadang2 lutu dia!hahaha..

Mat Cendana 9 October 2008 at 18:36

Mamasita,
This Sakmongkol knows stuff about the inner workings of Umno - can't find this anywhere else at other blogs. Even the other "Umno people" who have blogs didn't mention "he insides" (or can anyone give me the names of other blogs that does this?)

I know nuts about Umno - even less than the average blog follower (was "Missing in Action" [Chuck Norris] for about 18 months in 2005-06). But I still want to write a blog about politics! So I follow what Sakmongkol says here (plus read others too, of course).

I have no shame in saying that what I decide to write are largely influenced by what I see here. No, not "plagiarise" but "expand" (or even "contract"); which are different.

Anyway, we are actually of different groups - Sakmongkol has a group, but I don't. No, I'm not really "Pakatan". Or even PAS, though I'm a devoted follower of Nik Aziz. So actually *I* am the Lone Ranger:-)
