The Speech from the Hermit of Langgak Golf.

I shall wait for a few days to put up an extended analysis of Tengku Razaleigh's speech in parliament.

Yesterday, I put up the speech Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah made in parliament. There is an English version of his speech. I prefer to put up the Malay version to allow the Malay readers understand better the issues raised.
Responses to the speech have been swift. The umno people are not overly disturbed. The delivery of the speech was superb, In line with the cultured personality of Tengku Razaleigh. It was a controlled and, I would say, restrained presentation.
Unlike Tengku Razaleigh, many of us, including I, are not that restrained and containable. We come to parliament- if there are opportunities, will whack the government in the manner of combustible spontaneity within the permissible space of parliamentary immunity.
Because we know, whatever we say, will fall on deaf ears.
Towards the end of his speech, because I knew he would be ending it soon as I have a hard copy of the speech he was delivering, I stood up to ask a question I have asked privately of Tengku Razaleigh ever so many times.
I asked something like this when translated in English.
The most honourable member from Gua Musang has given an intellectual if somewhat fine table mannered rationale of the issues raised for example by Dr Mahathir given outside, in various media. I would like to ask the most honourable member this question- would the most honourable member from Gua Musang take the next step, which is to make a small personal step but a giant leap for the people of this country, to give leadership to this country?
Will you deliver us from this insouciant leadership?

OMG!!! Sakmongkol. I have to commend you on your persistence and keen follow up about the hermit. you are just wasting your time and ink as all these years nothing have changed or will change as long as the UMNO Government is still in place and your insouciant PM is still leading the pack . We can see now whether it is Mahathir or even Abdullah were to speak will not dent any further or even create a slight ripples. Why? they are "busuk" to all degrees. Time that rakyat shows the way. Affirmative action with a strong clean moral and a discipline leader without any communal attachment in ideology and leaving religion out of politic will be the way. I am seeing it in the young people especially the students. Please -lah!!! enough of the hermit. He is totally irrelevant.

In a nutshell, he is just "cakap ayam" - tok kok

The fact remains that 30MPs and only 30 MPs are needed to save this country from going beyond the point of no return.

Dato

This guy is impotent and was just shooting blanks. We should not get distracted by him from all the pressing issues of the country.

Dato,

The question is, will TDM allows Ku Li to step up.

At the moment, Ku Li is THE only qualified person in UMNO BARU to take over from Najib.

Too much internal politics over there. The rakyat has never been their priority.

Dato'

It is just like "terlpas dari mulut buaya..."

As long as the label is UMNO, nothing good will come out of it.

Excuse me for being cynical.

Dato, what was his answer to your question? You left this nicely hanging in the air.
We could interest him in a caretaker's position, clean up the mess left behind and clear the path to a better future, next GE14, and may the best party form the next govt.

Kuli is no maverick. He is man who literally gave up his ambition after losing to Mahathir in 1987. He dissolved his party and joined UMNO. A stupid and cowardly act.
When the problems were surrounding the government he just kept quiet and now he speaks when the horses have bolted.
Who care about the quality of his speech. The result will be a big ZERO.
UMNO really doesn't give a hoot about him or what he says. Dis hanya syok sendiri.

Tengku Razaleigh missed a golden opportunity on Monday.... if he had moved a motion of no confidence in parliament on that day, he just might have been successful in getting the motion passed as it was reported many BN members were absent and that PR MPs outnumbered BN MPs by 2 to 1 in the august house that day!

Dato, he is not relvant anymore. Considering his age to take over the premiership it will be hard for him as long as TDM is still around he will be a NATO. I lost confidence in him when he succumbed to TDM while he knightly riding the Semangat 46.

"We should not get distracted by him from all the pressing issues of the country".

Good, why don't you solve them then?

Report back in 2 weeks, please.

Sak, nothing to get excited. Bottom line it came from the 'same hole' that has produced Najib, Muhyiddin, Zahid ...SEMUA TAK BOLEH PAKAI. Ini adalah kerana 'pola pemimkiran' dan orientasi nya sama. "What is it for me" Period

The truth is Tengku Razaleigh is the only credible PM candidate that is acceptable across the political divide. In this dangerous times, who knows that TR may seriously consider throwing his hat into the arena just to save Msia from disaster. I think the UMNo people (incl. the East Msian BN component parties) are fed up with Najib & co. but are afraid to open their mouths. They are just waiting for someone to start the rebellion and TR may be the one. Now, it is either TR or Pakatan (if Najib stays)taking over Putrajaya. Both ways, the country can be saved. Frankly speaking, I have never known any head of state so useless in the whole wide world.

With due respect to the experienced, not necessarily smarter, the issue at hand is how a Govt change can be realised. This is not about Tengku Razaleigh but about Malaysia.
Tengku Razaleigh has lost his credibility the day he capitulated and deregistered Semangat 46. To fight and then go join the "enemy" is no leader at all. The backbone will tell.
To claim "for Malay Unity" was just bull droppings!
The Opposition should seize any opportunity open to it for a vote of no confidence in the present Govt, or seriously approach the DYMM YDP Agong for a Parliamentary dissolution.
Speculating on the usefulness of Tengku Razaleigh is fruitless as one is only putting the cart before the horse, just useless wishful thinking.

For a man who has the ability to help save this country and yet choose not to lift a finger to do so, we can just forget about him.

Whether he make any speech in parliament or not make no difference.(asking BN MPs to have conscience is a BIG BIG joke)

I use to have great respect for TR, but not anymore.

It is better for him to just keep quiet and go enjoy his life.

People proposed and God dispose , I sincerely hope Tengku Razaliegh can be the Prime Minister . Long Live Ku Li.

Why waste time on the fanciful and impossible?
