The Lies we Suffer

The oft repeated lies by leaders of the present government have reached their tipping point, boiling point, smoke point or whatever one wishes to term it. The biggest lie is this country will descend into anarchy if a new government takes over. Leaders of the present government must be taking us as fools or we are regarded as being born yesterday. Moreover, they must be suffering from an overblown case of inflated sense of importance. UMNO/BN is not indispensable. Najib is not indispensable.
Of course everyone in Malaysia is committed to the idea of changing the government through the vote. No one tolerates any other idea of effecting change other than voting. This is a democratic practice. All of us chose Malaysia to be governed by a good government. Mahathir must be hallucinating now when he says better the devil we know that the angel we don’t know? We know the devil and his devilish ways and we still want to choose him? Have we lost our marbles?
We chose to kick out the devil. And it’s farcical for Dr Mahathir to endorse voting when in UMNO he extinguishes the flame of democracy. During his rule, he started the anti-voting measures to ensure the UMNO president and Deputy President to be almost unchallengeable with bonus votes and all that.
Why must it be so? Why should we even believe that if UMNO/BN falls, this country will descend into widespread chaos? It will be so, only if people do not obey laws anymore. It will if the structures of government crumble.
If UMNO/BN loses, it’s not that the structures of government will disintegrate will they? The civil service will still be around. We are not firing civil servants although there are 1.4 million of them. They will still perform their respective functions. We are not going to close down the land and district office. Post office. Fire stations. Etc. we want to replace only a few scoundrels. Just a scratch. Not even a flesh wound. Maybe we want to replace the chief secretary so that he can join UMNO or Kimma. We want to replace the chairman and president of PETRONAS. Maybe we want to close down MAS and create a MAS-2. Of course we want to replace the CEO of Khazanah. With the exit of these few people, the 1.4 million civil servants are not going to lay down tools, are they?
The police and enforcement agencies will still remain and will still be responsible for the internal security and safety of our citizens. The judiciary will still be there though we would like to replace the rotten apples. Perhaps we want to replace the AG. The military establishment will still be there guarding our nation from external aggression.
Meaning- all the structures of government are still going to be around, their existence isn’t dependent on UMNO/BN’s. What is there to worry then? Only UMNO/BN isn’t there. The rest will still be intact looking out for the country and its people.
And here is a special note to the Malays and Bumiputeras. Their interests are not necessarily looked out best by UMNO alone. As long as Malays are articulate and as long as there are laws that govern our existence and regulate the conduct between persons, it is we who look out for our interest. Why must we depend on UMNO? Malays formed 61% of our 28 million population. Only 1 in 6 Malays is an UMNO member. There are more of us and less of them. Do they have even the capacity to look out for us? The last time I heard, even the quality of the UMNO people is being assailed by non-other than DR Mahathir. UMNO is rotten to the core and consists of half-past six fellows. UMNO says Dr Mahathir, is corrupt from the bottom to the very top!
How can the fate of this country be made to depend on mediocrity?
Many of you have read Michael Porter’s Competitive book series. One of the things he mentioned is we can determine the highest quality of our services and products, by demanding and insisting them to be so. Similarly it is with government. We the people must demand and insist it to be of the highest quality. We translate the forceful demand in the form of our votes.
Vote in good people to get a good government.

Yes Bro Sak,

Only 1 in 6 Malays is an UMNO member. Or 1 in 10 Malaysians is an UMNO member. And if we take only half of which is are diehard UMNO zombies, we have 1 in 20 Malaysians is an UMNO member.

And it is this 1 in 20 that will try all possible means to disrupt peace & harmony to maintain their depraved & corrupted livelihood at the expense of the other 19 Malaysians.

Indeed, there are more of us, and less of them - and if pushing come to shove, let's shove these UMNO rubbish into the dustbin of history for the sake of our children, lest we betray our children's future like our misinformed parents did us.

~ "25 years ago my starting salary was RM1,800, now my children's starting salary is also RM1,800 compared to their cousin's starting salary of RM7,000 across the Causeway. And if UMNO is still in power, my grand children's starting salary would still be RM1,800, and by then, all our grand daughters shall become housemaids and our grandsons, toilet cleaners & petrol pump attendants in neighboring countries. WTF!", lamented a 50-something gentleman. ~

dato appreciate if you could give an acccount of talams issue and also about pncak niaga thanks

Anonymous,  22 August 2012 at 19:52

You did not mention about Sungai Buloh. This is the fear they are living in day and night.
Mahathir is worried that he may have to spend his last few years in striped shirt and pants while sleeping on cement floor with no fan and ikan kering for lunch.
Oh yes, the AG will be his neighbour.

whats happening about talam snd syabas pls enlighten all malaysians tks

Pok Li,  22 August 2012 at 20:12

Mahathir is wrong when he says "better the devil we know than the angel we don't know". Angel is always better than devil whether we know or we don't know. Even if we have to choose between the devils, its better to choose the devil we don't know hoping its the lesser devil than the devil we already know that's rotten to the core. By the way Mahathir has admitted that he is a devil, not an angel.

Dato',

One small correction, you wrote:

"How can the fate of this country be made to depend on mediocrity?"

It should read:

"How can the fate of this country be made to depend on the rotten and corrupt?"

Dato, the ruling elite thinks that just because they are the sugar daddies to a privileged group of marble licking, batang sucking, tongkat, crytches and wheelchair dependents, they are the saviour of the nation and its people. These useless good for nothing brainless politicians still think that all Malaysians still read the garbage bound mainstream papers of Utusan,NST,Star and the Tamil dailies.

These dunggus, firm believers of their own doomed policies, still believed that all Malaysians owned them a living. They still believed,as related to them by their useless sidekicks that the country is headed for cloud nine. These out of touch Umnoputras still doesn't get it that the country is standing in line and screaming to be the next bride of the Pigg's nations.

The Umnoputras will be shocked that there will be widespread celebrations on the streets,by all Malaysians the second they are called the next opposition party in waiting.Their diapers will be dripping liquids if they are unable to board the overloaded midnight flights to Zimbabwe, the land of the cowboys.

The Umnoputras thinking that the country will go into chaos after they are gone? The people with their middle fingers pointed at them saying good riddance to bad rubbish.

Dear Sakmongkol

“The biggest lie is this country will descend into anarchy if a new government takes over.”

You will be surprised how widespread this lie is, and how many people believe it. On one of my Hari Raya open house visits I bumped into a retired general. I asked him if he thought the country will descend into chaos, like UMNO tells the Malays, should PR win, and what might the army do should there be chaos. He said peace and stability were the two most important things and the armed forces had the duty to ensure that there was no chaos.

So I followed up by asking what would the army do if there was chaos caused some UMNO thugs who want to create just such a situation so that an emergency could be declared and Parliament would be suspended to enable UMNO/BN to continue to rule while trying to get frogs to jump? This stumped the general a bit, but he said that the army would probably not be party to such a maneuver because of international condemnation. This, however, we would have to see.

The important thing that Malaysians, especially the Malays, should note is that the new PR government would have a majority of Malay MPs. The DAP, however successful will not have more than 20% of the seats in Parliament. So it will be one group of (cleaner and more capable) Malays replacing the current (corrupt and incompetent) bunch. And finally we would have an enlightened and non-racial government.

As for Dr Mahathir, I wish people would stop listening to him. He is pure racist and should be totally discredited. The things he talks about are shameful and unbecoming of a former PM. But perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised by his racism. He had to ingratiate himself to the Malays to be accepted. The man who was born Mahathir son of Mohamed Iskandar had morphed into Mahathir bin Mohamed, from Indian to Malay. Not long ago in an interview on CNN, the anchor Riz Khan asked him point blank: are you an Indian? Mahathir replied: I am by definition Malay. This is totally shameless: by using a few words one can change one’s race; if genes don’t help words will. This traitor to his race is stirring up all sorts of problems even after he has left office. And he is confusing and misleading the real Malays.

Dear Dato' Sakmongkol,

oh....0h, What we are thinking and what should be happen. The story repeat it self. ^1% o 28 mill are malay. % out of 6 arenon UMNO member so is to speak , malay are dominant, why worried.

Pakatan need to screen the Yes Minister mini series on their ceramah rounds..

The cheeks to suggest that only UMNO Malays can think and act rationally when every instance in the past has shown that UMNO supremos take care of themselves and their cronies. All the multi-billion ringgit losses and bail-outs have proved unequivocally one fact - a dishonest corrupt UMNO is prepared to steal as much as possible, even with the Malay rulers looking on, because UMNO knows it too well that the Rulers were effectively neutralised by none other than the superman who can even walk on water, Mahathir, in the early 90s.

PR with PAS in the lead and actively supported by PKR and DAP will show that this nation does not belong to UMNO alone, especially its crooks, thieves, skirt chasers and assorted miscreants.

Anonymous,  23 August 2012 at 03:08

I think Dr Mahathir is more worried when he look at what happen to Hosni Mubarak.

When Biro Politik UMNO had a meeting and they brief Mahathir on the interlligent report on election survey,he almost fainted when they told him BN can only get 80 parliment seats and another 50 seats 50:50 chance.

He shouted at Najib saying "I told you,you cannot handle Anwar" He ask Najib to delay GE.
The next day ,mahathir make announcement in paper that election should be held in Septembar after Fasting month.

Now inside UMNO all kelam kabut.Najib make a lot of major decision without the knowledge Biro Politik or Mahayuddin at least.
Najib went ahead with RCI in Sabah, without conulting UMNO Sabah.Old timer in UMNO like Ghafur,Saleh keruak,Yahya hussein are quite upset with Najib.

Malays are better off with Pakatan looking after their interest. Knowing that they are vulnerable, parties like DAP and PKR will surely do their best to keep the Malays happy in case they get booted out? Umno has become too arrogant, too greedy and lost their morality to lord over anyone least of all the Malays. They treat the Malays as nothing more than their fixed deposit, there for them to hang on to power. It's good to see many enlightened Malays who now realized that they had bee used by Umno and they have nothing to lose by siding the opposition.

When PR in power, get rid of the protection for Proton and APs, we have enough of these nonsense.

Let everyone enjoys have cheaper and better quality cars, whether imported or locally made vehicles.

Patrick 23 August 2012 at 14:57

The public rhetoric clearly shows massive confusion within UMNO itself. Actually, the politically controlled media is helping to create and spread the confusion more within the UMNO ranks. As I mentioned before, UMNO is imploding and desperation is accelerating the implosion. The moment the UMNO people start to copy and articulate the opposition's planned policies, the govt/UMNO has lost.

All the opposition has to do now is to keep putting the pressure on the govt and UMNO. And watch UMNO commit suicide without even knowing it. PR may not have found the silver bullet to kill off the govt/UMNO/BN with a single shot, but multiple shots so far, will cause the govt/UMNO/BN to bleed to death very fast and naturally.

Malaysia will descend into economic anarchy if the present trend of vote-buying on a massive scale proceeds unchecked.
