Decide rationally, not because we are not happy.
Being pragmatic and businesslike people, the citizens of KT cannot decide on account of being unhappy. RPK is full of unhappy feelings. He wants to do Najib in, based on his unproven allegations that Najib was connected to the murder of the Mongolian Altantuya. RPK is unhappy because he has been ISAed a few times and has a death wish of inviting more ISAs. Perhaps he deserved to be ISAed since he says he doesn’t mind. We must send a message also to this pesky yet formidable blogger of Bugis descent, that it is we, the KT voters who shall decide our destiny. For the moment, that destiny is best served by UMNO.
What the people of Terengganu must now think, whether all this depressing and unhappy talk is because RPK wants the people of Terengganu to settle scores on his behalf? What he wishes BN to be this 17th January is just an extension of his own unhappy feeling.
All this BS about showing the BN government how unhappy you are is just a load of rubbish. The person truly unhappy is RPK himself. So why oblige him, when after all this is over, he will ride into the sunshine in his red Rolls Royce? The people of Terengganu are not going to not vote for BN based on what RPK tells them to do. They must decide according to their conscience. They must do it businesslike. Their conscience will acknowledge that UMNO and BN HAVE their faults and they can’t make everyone happy all the time. Who can please everyone? Even PAS cannot.
Yes, it is true UMNO is full of rotten things. The noble struggle to uplift a nearly forgotten people has been hijacked by the genetic elite whose ranks have been swelled by those subscribing to their rapacious and greedy ideology. Yes, UMNO is full of greedy pigs flaunting their lifestyles at the Perhimpunan Agung UMNO with girlfriends in tow. Yes, we hate to see the haughty and pretentious UMNO goons from Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere who come to KT and treat locals like country bumpkins. We hate their hypocrisy of pretending to be folksy and kampong like, when we know they are more at home with the café latte crowd, more at home celebrating the coming of the new year at Bintang walk and making us looked stupid with our kampungish demeanour. We hate those stupid UMNO ketua Bahagians who are mentally challenged when called upon to provide a vision for the Malays.
We are horrified at Dato Najib for failing to come clean with all this Altantuya thing. He should come out firmly saying that what Razak Baginda did or didn’t, was entirely Razak’s choice. We detest his preachy pontificating about behaving humble, looking at faces when shaking hands, grasping hand firmly and so forth, when we all know, he has behaved exactly like that before.
Yes, we hate the UMNO that seems to warm up and accommodating to the lying and thieving Muhd Taibs, the fornicating Rahim Tamby Chiks, the Marcus Crassuses of Khir Toyos, the puffed up Muhyidin who cried because the only land in Johore not sold yet is the earth mound on his mother’s grave. We hate those hypocritical UMNO leaders and their hangers on who grew wealthy from ill gotten means and so forth, yet with duplicitous poker faces, ask us to work hard. Screw you people!.
Yet, we must realise that these people are dispensable. These donkeys will soon be dumped. Most of the empty vessels are already on the way out. What is more permanent is UMNO’s mission. THAT is bigger than all these people put together. The mission to provide leadership to the Malays so that this country becomes a democratic country, successful and prosperous. The mission to bring dignity to the Malays, their religion, culture and language. On the whole, UMNO, the party has not done too bad. Just look around you. I am not going to insult the intelligence of KT people by listing down the accomplishments of the UMNO/BN government.
If voting the other way means you are not happy, can we then say, when the people of Terengganu booted out the PAS government the last time, they were not happy with PAS and by extension Islam? Surely being unhappy couldn’t be the reason why Terengganuans rejected Haji Hadi or Tok Guru Ayah Chik as he is called. Haji Hadi is a likeable person as a religious leader should be- and all will kiss his hands even if the kisser is an UMNO man. The PAS government was booted out because the Trengganuans felt his government was incompetent. It was all business. Nothing personal.
Then as now, Haji Hadi was living in his present house and all the other PAS politicians are probably staying in their same houses. That’s exemplary of him. It was and is a personal choice- where to stay. You the people of Terengganu are not going to reject the BN government based on the houses politicians lived in. the people of KT booted out the PAS government the last time, because they fumbled in managing the state. They didn’t get back the goodwill money. The pugnacious and street fighter-like present MB did.
You warga Kuala Terengganu have given the BN the mandate to rule Terengganu last march, because, you have judged, on a overall basis, the BN government, despite all the shortcomings- the building of crystal mosques, the monsoon cup extravaganzas and so on, the BN government performed better.
