PERKASA wants PM Najib to be Moses.

PM Najib to part the ocean.

If PERKASA wants to find out more about Blue Ocean Strategy- it should invite Samy Vellu to explain the meaning of BOS. From a practical standpoint- Samy Velu has practiced BOS all his life. I wrote about a joke about Samy building a river so that demand for a bridge arises. Supply creates its own demand.
That's the idea of BOS anyway- that blue sea area where you create a product or service not thought out by your competitors. What can be not thought out by competitors other than you yourself thought out and later on produced to capture a market? It has to be something unique or something with the status of having no substitute and needed by society. Otherwise all oceans- blue or red become one and the same over time.
The blue of the ocean remains so for as long as other competitors don't enter the market or produce something unique but comparable. Your competitor then creates his own blue ocean. Whether its blue or red, if you fall and don't know how to swim, you will die. Hence, your survival will eventually depend on your ability to stay afloat. Others cant stay afloat for you. The government cant.
So when Samy says he wants to build a bridge over a nonexistent river, he creates that very river that demands a bridge to be built. He is an economics maestro- this Samy Velu. I like the joke- tuan2 dan puan- kita sudah makan kinyang kinyang, sekarang kita mempersila Dato Paduka Rafidah Aziz naik pentas untuk buka kain.
Jokes aside, your ability to create BOS would then depend on whether you have absolute control.
Now, if this is what the Perkasa head of Economics bureau meant by BOS, its nothing short of asking the government to create a regime of economic apartheid. By way of legislation, have it decreed that certain economic endeavors are preserved only for Malays. Do two things then- one, legislate the areas in which you want only Malays there; two- any violations of that decree must be rewarded by the most extreme form of punishment- death sentence for example. Hence the BUmiputera who alibabas his business must be hanged and the baba enticing ali to kongsi his business must go to the electric chair.
I don't understand this. UMNO has its own economic bureau. I am not certain who heads it now. What I don't understand is where is his voice? In particular, the voice of its economic bureau? Is it sleeping? Why does it not articulate the economic agenda of the Malays? Why doesn't it speak about the Malay economy? How will the NEM impact the Malays? The leader of the economic bureau if he is worth any salt, will quickly come out with his convention- air the hopes and fears of Malays. In doing so, the NEM will factor them in.
Instead, UMNO seems to surrender this responsibility to Perkasa- that organization headed by one Ibrahim Ali. Maybe UMNO people see Ibrahim Ali as a comic relief who gives them a much needed reprieve from the head-spinning responsibility of taking care of Malays. If they are not willing to bear responsibility, please resign.
Maybe it's all part of the customary practice of UMNO businessmen in sub-contracting their businesses. And since UMNO is likely to be dominated by businessmen of all sorts, sub-contracting every important responsibility becomes second nature to them.
So it's left to Ibrahim Ali and other similar minded and jocose personages in UMNO to speak about some vague and remote Malay exclusivity in some economic endeavors. There are many of them in Parliament speaking for UMNO. One that got married to a starlet recently comes readily in mind. The member from Sri Gading is another. The lipsy deputy minister defies logic- a rational and calculating man falling prey to cheap nationalistic overtures.
So what is the best strategy for Perkasa ( which isn't UMNO) to do? Send the PM a laundry list of its demands. Perkasa intends to send a list of proposed amendments and considerations for the NEM to Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Razak at the end of this month.
Perkasa wants the PM to do a Moses thing- part the sea into two. One for the Chinamen whom are accused by Perkasa as dominating it. The other parted sea will be exclusively for Malays. That will be off limits to the Chinese menace.

I have an idea!!!!
Ask Ibrahim Ali to make a trip to the moon. It's all blue sea there and the chinese will not set foot on the moon nor give him any competition.
It is all for the taking.
Ibrahim Ali can start whatever business he likes there.
On earth Ibrahim can never compete with any Chinese, I mean any Chinese, in any business venture.

The government is bankrupt of ideas to help the malays. Good and sound ideas would require radical changes which the government has not the will to implement. One thing is for sure, whatever ideas that are implemented, the non-malays will eventually find a way round it.

Moses also led the Jews hither and thither in the desert for 40 years before they found the "promised land."

If only he had turned right instead of left after parting the Red Sea, the Jews would have got all the oil and the Arabs the rest of the desert!! So much for Moses being a great leader.

Moses was also apparently a kind of tribal medicine man whose remedy for the common cold and headache was "take two Tablets and see me in the morning!" Lol!

If the Chinese are removed from Malaysia, then, the whole economy of Malaysia will collapse. We need one another to build the nation. We need the Malays, the Indians, the Chinese, every other ethnic races both in Peninsular Malaysia and in Sabah and Sarawak. So, Perkasa must stop the talking down and making provocative statements for personal gains. Think of constructive ways to engage one another. It take years to build a nation, but it will only take hours to tear down a nation. So, stop this lose-lose approach, Perkasa!

joenathan 4 May 2010 at 17:26

And the Indians, especially the poverty stricken and marginalized ones will always be caught between the devil and the deep blue ocean in our PM's 1-MALAYSIA. Politicians don't care or pretend to care only during elections for their political expediency, so called civil society doesn't give two hoods, bloggers remain indifferent towards their plight, media including the alternate one plays to the gallery of their political masters hence the misery of this once hardworking and enterprising community carries on in our PM's 1-Malaysia, while PERKASA continues to talk shit 3 x.

Dato'
The UMNO economy bereau are busy collecting rent for next erection. Or may be they still in the lab with YB Idris Jala, or building up a lab ..still couldnt find a solution.

Dear Dato'

Are we malays that pathetically bad to govern or UMNO leaders are too pathetically bad that they have no idea how to do so?

I recall one scene from "Titanic", where one band kept playing their songs even when the gigantic ship is slowly sinking. That band looks like one Ibrahim Ali that is being hailed by ultra insecured malays as hero...

How tragic UMNO could be...

Quiet Despair,  4 May 2010 at 19:30

Dato Sak, I am tired of hearing about Ibrahim Ali.
We may castigate him but he's something else.
He has his purpose. His usefulness.
Even Tun M recorded his appreciation for wooing the Malay voters in Hulu Selangor.
Actually he's just playing a role to complement the Chinese ultra-group Dong Zhong.
Anyhow, his strategic planning workshop on the NEM over the weekend got an enthusiastic audience.
It does not mean whatever the resolutions handed in to Najib at the Bumiputra Congress will be given attention.
He is just responding to some of the Malays who want some answers from the Umno Ecoomic Bureau on the NEM.
Since the bureau fails to act, Ibrahim Ali comes to the fore.
I can say he is a smooth operator.

even to venture into blue ocean, still you need knowledge, perseverance, and a lot of tears to shed. Let put our effort to educate and inculcate malays with all these 'critical success factor' elements. Nak bagi duit beli ikan ke atau bagi joran dan ajar mengail?

Richard Cranium 4 May 2010 at 20:11

Dear Perkasa

Why stop at Blue Ocean Strategy?

One gets the feeling that Perkasa's think-tank is just throwing some buzzwords from books they just read. Wow, such learned people.

While within the blue ocean, you should also market to the Long Tail.

We all know that people nowadays have become a Category of One.

It is imperative that you Control Your Destiny.

But make sure you don't end up making a Meatball Sundae.

All this will make you become Good To Great.

*and these are just the books in my shelf*

Aspan Alias 4 May 2010 at 20:27

It is simply a great tragedy, to see Ibrahim Ali to ask Najib to be Moses like ( Nabi Musa) to cut the ocean into 2 halves: one half for the Malays and the other half for the non Malays.

What kind of 'mukjizat' does Najib has, or where does the 'mukjizat' comes from?...from the kitchen or from his bed-mate?

Dato Sak, just call Ibrahim and ask him for a brief of what he wants to do or suggest.

I bet to my last cents in my pocket; you won't understand from the first word he utters until the end.

Just treat his proposal like comedian script.

And try to laugh.

Quiet Despair,  4 May 2010 at 21:33

Aspan Alias

I think we both know Ibrahim Ali.
So to our non-Malay friends, don't fear him.
Sdra Sak, don't feel threatened by him. Ibrahim is not of your league.

Spot , anon 17:51.

While majority still harping on Ibahim and Perkasa, you zoom in on the real issue i.e the current dumb leadership.

Forget economics and BOS, our current problem is our contry organisation structure is just like "poltikus membaiki labu"

Hello Fi-Sha 18:38

Yes. I'm a malay and truly admitting that my other fellow peers me-layu laugh at me when I talk about gone were the days when our forefathers teach the basic rope and there is no such thing as shortcut to success.

Literally they laugh so hard till I can almost taste their venom spit of laughter.

Yes. We owe to those UMNO up walking high at the corridors of power and talk with such cocky tone in the very same breath they preach about ISLAM UMNO, We Me-layu have to unite and blah blah blah.

Those Malays are pathetic and the real scums of this land of ours!

Dato Sak merely stating the obvious of those Ali Babas who subcontract their job for others and claiming its is their rights in the very beginning - what a load of bollocks I must say.

UMNO is not tragic; it is beyond Tragedy October due listening to Wings Double Trouble too much!
Bebudak Ali Baba suka layan lagu macam ni sambil rompak harta orang yang kerja keras atas keringat mereka! damn those thieves!

BV, If say, the factory owner leave the country, he will sell the factory I imagine, someone will buy it cheap, so logically goods become cheaper, hey that's good economics. So when are the business owners leaving...?
By all means if makes them happy, cant stop people wanting to attain happiness, not right..

hiley 4 May 2010 at 22:37

Dear Aspan, you dont have to be what you tried to be. It's so pitiful. I heard if you wear a dunce hat walk backwards, DAP will also give you an award, but only bronze. But of coz if you put down yr own people- then better chance for silver or gold.
You're not there yet in performance, but with practice, you'll get to be premium comedian yrself. You have the advantage, you already have the looks.

Putting down your own race is nothing to be ashamed about especially if it is constructive and brings about awareness to the people. I think its better than to put yourself in the basket and carry yourself up or worse say nothing at all. Chinese and Indians get accused of various unsavoury stuff. I don't know of other people but I as a Chinese will take them in and believe that one day we will remember those insults and learn and improve ourselves.

sniper,  5 May 2010 at 00:51

Sir

a selective opinion by you.

Since when did politician don't have their own agenda.

Ibrahim Ali give the ordinary Malays a better option to voice out their frustration.

We cant put all our eggs in Umno, PKR or PAS's basket.

So if Ibrahim Ali asked for Najib to be Moses, no harm asking as the ocean will still remain blue.

Anonymous,  5 May 2010 at 01:19

If the Chinese and Indian start their own NGO, and spark racial issue like Perkasa been doing, will they be put under ISA?

vinnan,  5 May 2010 at 10:18

To Hiley

'BV, If say, the factory owner leave the country, he will sell the factory I imagine, someone will buy it cheap, so logically goods become cheaper, hey that's good economics. So when are the business owners leaving...?'

Who taught you inflation is determined by the price of industrial land? With the exception of prime areas the price of industrial land have generally fallen nationwide while that of agriculture land have gone up. You certainly encourage non-Malays to see Malays as economic and business buffoons with your immature views. Luckily, I have Malay friends who are a lot smarter than you when it comes to economics.

Alan Hiley 9 May 2010 at 21:00

Dear Vinnan,
We are saddened to hear everyone’s talking about leaving. But like I said earlier, if they are pursuing greener pastures, it wouldn’t be fair to stop them.
So we buffoons welcome you to leave also, Villan. In your case I suppose it’ll be in the direction of Bollywood land. I know you and your community must be aching to remiggrate to India where it’s free from buffoons like us and buffoons’ policies. I understand, so don’t worry, I wont be offended.
To facilitate, I will hesistantly suggest to PM to set up another special fund to assist in the passage urgently. By sea okay? I am sure you wont mind coz that would be the way you may like to honour your forebearers.
PM is in the mood to fulfill all your wishes, as your votes are critical. (Wait, if you’re gone you can’t vote anymore. Oh I see, you want to hold on to the red passports in case)
I am pretty sure PM will approve the special allocation coz during the recent summit, he'd given clear commitment to Manmohan that Putrajaya will not stop the reverse brain drain, India is enjoying now. I heard Najib was proposing to return only the 39,000 (Indian citizens who were reported "missing" in Malaysia after their tourist visas expired), but apparently Manmohan insisted India want every one of the 1,946,800 plus the 39,000 plus the 200,000 brains in the various mamak shops too. How stingy this Manmohan, I guess he didn’t get called Manmohan for nothing.
Well we remember old buffon saying: “one man’s poison is another man’s meat” (or was it the other way round?)
I heard there was an uproar in Parliament when they got the word that Najib had conceded to Manmohan’s demand. Ah well, Malaysian so nice always giving in. According to an analyst, it’s more to do with trade balance, palm oil and railway tracks. Najib simply had no choice but to concede.
PS. BTW, no pun intended in "new pastures"

Which issues raised by Perkasa are racial, can you please clarify or just list down?

Alan Hiley 10 May 2010 at 14:26

Ikan Tongkol,
Saya setuju 100% kata-kata saudara.

Dari segi teknikalnya dalam NEM memang ada sebut nak hapuskan 'patronage' dan 'rent-seekers'. Dari segi nak implement 'OB to rentseekers' policy, i dont think the civil servants know how to, and political leaders will do. That's a problem kita kena atasi.

Sabagaimana sdr kata our fellow melayu 'the scums' you referred them as - will still be around, though they are only about 27.5% of the Malays - it's still a big number.

Must figure out how to chuck them out of the system. I imagine they're like gangrene. A real smelly one. If we see them as rotting smelly toes only, in reality the whole leg upto the knees may have to go - termasuklah some menteris, ketua2 bahgian, wakil rakyat, some kerabats, etc.- which are the foot and upper legs -yang dah jadi busuk juga.

We may look like an OKU thereafter but a healthier one.

But what i've just said, is obvious. The question is how to make sure we really tarah the leg.

Jangan bagi can, but this is easier said than done.

The rest of the body which still not infected, must be given the necessary strong anti-bodies. Must be a new strain, the old ones like BTN are already over their shelf life.

Here lies the challenge.
