Sakmongkol AK47 answers his rancorous critics
My short article about why? KJ got rich because… drew a lot of flak. I hope they have got the bile and venom out of their system. But this is a hazard one gets when arguing with excessively hormone charged morbid anti KJ marines. They do not argue against the idea but go after the person. My advice: if you don't know how to argue and reason things out, please stay away. I want to listen to cogent reasoning not be the recipient of unsolicited diatribes. If you want to engage me, please leave the vulgarity and profanities in your bile ducts. I will not torture myself to answer arrogant philippic, maudlin blustering condescension. To wit: addressing me as sanctimonious idiot, unintelligent, change my moral compass, selling soul to KJ etc etc. if I were to support KT or MM, will I be free from being accused of selling my soul to them? I will tolerate many arguments put forth against my own position. To cite an example, my blogger friend, Brick In The Wall, holds diametrically opposite views from mine. I do not begrudge him for this because I respect his decision to hold such differing viewpoints. Our task then is to present these arguments before discerning readers so that they can allow themselves to be convinced by either of our arguments. When they have completed doing so, we accept their decision. We shall fight in the battlefield of ideas but shall never allow our differing positions to degenerate into personal animosity. I hope, the anti KJ people are mature enough in this department. But those advanced particularly by commentators like pink devil, anti sukj, anon at 17:41. Greenbottle , A John and hmm, Jebat Express are explicitly rancorous. Pink Devil -if you are ignorant about Pekan politics, please stay out. UMNO is not your personal property reserved only for the likes of you. As to being critical to DS Najib, I have been so even before beicoming an ADUN. Its not for you to say whether I performed or underperformed as ADUN. As to calling other people idiots- those are the words of Jebat Express, not mine. It doesn't matter what beliefs you hold or who you want to support, I am addressing my reasoning to pemuda delegates. You have as much right to support whoever you are backing and I am not the worse off by that. Again and again, I am aghast that people seem to miss the pith of my arguments. Of course two wrongs do not make a right. Of course being clean is good. I have stated this in many of my previous articles. Probably bigotry has prevented many of the commentators above from reading them. And it is the height of condescension to suggest that I hold a lower moral compass when I am not even advocating this. Take the case of my asking people not to be sanctimonious. What is the pith of my argument? Its not that I am condoning corruption, dubious ad unethical means. So you can exclaim My God! Demi Tuhan! or anything – for you are shooting at a wrong target. The sting of my argument is nor directed there. Accordingly, I am not going to be sucked into a vortex of irrelevant issues. I do not have to answer to an issue I did not raise. The pith and sting of my argument is, given the assumption that all are far from being untainted, why apply a different standard on a particular person? I can only conclude, that this application of selective judgement stems from personal bigotry. This to my mind, is most perilous for UMNO. It seems to endorse the idea that choosing who we like is more important that choosing who is right for UMNO. This is the central issue of my argument when I asked people not to be sanctimonious. It has never been acceptance of corrupt ways as misunderstood by the raging hormones. Of course, the stupidest remark that I have ever heard in blogsphere is to suggest that Hitler can also lead UMNO. This is a clear case where bravado is exceeded by inanity.

Guess what?
Pakatan Rakyat needn't bother with the zorros and harises and RPKs because right here in this blog, we have all the dirt on Umno leaders.
Salute!
DSAI was the best student among the Umno dirt! Graduated with flying colours! Congrats to PKR!
Sakmongkol.
Good luck with your quest for a cogent reasoning. All I know is that the god of reasons abandoned us a long time ago. Good luck to KJ too.

Unfortunately most malaysians are not matured enough to debate intelligently at this moment in time as yet.
AK47,,,,you are light years ahead of the pack !.
Indeed, UMNO needs your proactive involvement again, to rebrand her and get things right to move forward.
I salute you and looks forward to your write-ups as always.
Cheers,,,,selamat malam dah lambat neee yeop!
Dear Dato,
Actually Mr " Can-I-Get-A-Lift-From-You?"/"Nice-Italian-Suit-Guy" hit it on the nail in his first comment on your last article.
The beef with KJ is not so much with his accumulation of wealth but rather the perceived arrogance or the lacking of 'likeability' factor.
Cheers,
Mike Cheok
Admire your conviction to support KJ. Its adamn pity TDM doesnt like him, because he is one helluva talent in local politics. no doubt many commentors says he is nasty and brutish as described by Thomas Hobbes, but at the same time he is a breath of fresh air to the younger generations to aspire to enter politics albeit right or left.
here is to many more KJ aspirants.
1) A few commentators cringed at the tone of the discussion on Kj;that this is about a collapse of party discipline, and, the grime dredged out will be gleefully exploited by Pakatan.
They should not worrry. Umno is cleansing its soul. The party is is letting an outbreak of arguments, for internal issues to dominate media coverage for almost a year now. The acrimony shall dissipate.
2) By comparison Pakatan appears to be control freaks. Anwar and Kit Siang are showing the world they are no paragons of democracy. They have reprimanded internal critics. DAP chairman has been warned to shut up and observe discipline by the scion of a fellow comrade. It is humiliating. Like Singapore politics, Pakatan's stage managed-harmony shall implode. Who's the party boss of DAP; Kit Siang or/and his son? Anwar and family; or Karpal and sons? Can Saifudin or Nasruddin join the ranks of the Ruling Class? Democracy?
Umno has fared better. A bigger leadership base and it has survived the recriminations.
3) The next stage in Umno's revival is regeneration. Dr Mahathir is 15 years older than Pak Lah who is Najib's senior by 13 years. Najib and Zahid belong in the same age-group, they passed the leadership of Pemuda to Hishammuddin, eight years younger than Najib.
With the March transition, a Pemuda under Khairy represents a generational change, reflective of the doubling of young voters in 2012/13.
4) This attrition between Sakmongkol who is letting Khairy's critics kick the man, for now; and Khairy's apparently many opponents, shall be won by objectivity and voices of reason.
5) Khairy may not grin all that much but he does allow a smile every now and than unlike the new US equivalent of Finance Minister. He does look grim, doesn't he? This is not a Colgate contest or a selection of the best facial contours. Niceties are so easy to fabricate.
It means nothing to the jobless. We need leaders. Over time, Khairy will have all the opportunity to show that he could be as personable as, say, Ali Rustam. We most need talents now. Khairy is a top talent.
6) Khairy's critics have been unable to clearly articulate reasons for their dislike of the man. Feelings, emotions and perception are fluid and transferrable.
The first 2 comments above are clearly PR supporters. Many others who comment elsewhere in this blog also are. They are a breed certainly lacking in knowledge of how to get their points across.
I think we should simply disregard them. Just read up to the point when they become not worth reading then forget them and go to the next comment.
Pity, if they use proper words, we might even agree with some of them.
Now that you have stated that you are not condoning corruption etc, I have no problem with what you write. Although I disagree with you - I am unable to sokong the young man, I have doubts on him.
saya tak berapa terer Bahasa Inggeris. Tapi saya benci KJ kerana
1. pengalaman saya masuk tender dengan kerajaan. Semua point lulus, bila company saya masuk board of directors utk dinilai, saya kalah dgn company baru registered.
SO aku tanya la "apek mana tahu KJ ni?." Dia cakap "bukan melayu banyak kena, cina pun kena jugak"
These are some examples how KJ using his muscle and brain and his DIVINE LUCK to get rich and enter UMNO politics. Along the way he killed a lot of competitors , friends and enemy alike. All for self Glory.
He was taught by UMNO of which I thought he could change UMNO for the better but he become the devil himself.
That is why i hate the person, the game he is playing and the destiny he will create for himself and malaysian people.
A bleak, chaos and anarchist destiny, that is.

Gusti
Dato,
All these weeks, you have been ranting and raging against corruption in UMNO, is there a need to promote and now defend someone of questionable intergrity to lead politics in the country? Rather it would be good for you to rally the call for the creation of a new generation of leaders.
was it dato's call or nature's call for UMNO this time ?.
YBhg Dato',
In the end, it's about perception. It is said this perception is based on people's firsthand experiences with whatever is connected to KJ. I have personal experience with the long arm of ECM Libra, a KJ-connected entity.
The perception here is he wants everything, even something very small, crumbs really, something he can leave to others who just want to make a decent living. It epitomizes greed and how that greed is fulfilled - thorugh the abuse of position.
KJ may have all the ingredients of good leadership but the unsavoury baggage he carries creates the negative perception even among ordinary people which may make UMNO more unpalatable. He may be head and shoulder above his rivals but he is something else amongst us ordinary people who will be going out to vote for a government in GE13.
This is probably something to think about. Nothing new, rather repetitive but a reinforcement nevertheless.

2. Itu adalah fatwa oleh Mufti Besar UMNO...Al-Sheikh BELIT El-Kubang Pasu.
3. Belit sambil menelan.
Basically the message is that all 3 are perceived by many to be as corrupted as the other.Regardless, the UMNO masses have voted the three as the candidates indicating that their "corruptness index" is within the UMNO norms. No degree of separation on that aspect then...
The issue is then the type of leadership each party will bring to umno youth and the relevance of such a leadership style to the party at present.
Is it the smart assed activists bully boy?Or is it the unifying statesmanship?Or is it the intellectual street savvy?
As an outsider,I would think that UMNO Youth needs the cool diplomat that can cut through the ranks to rally for a change that is so essential to maintain Umno's position in the longer term.MM would be the man.
However, the Youths themselves may want someone with a lot more fire, willing to stand toe to toe and eyeball the incoming PM as well as the "nasties" of the opposition.KJ political style fits in nicely to that mould.
The rationalists would think that maybe the choice should be the more balanced personae..with a little bit more experience and savvy..with enough people skills spiced with just the right dose of fire.
So my bet is on KT to win.
Look at the Forbes richlist>>
Out of the 20 only 3 bumiputras?
and of the collective wealth of the 20 of about Rm 45 billion (give or take a few billion cos I am lazy to compute other people's wealth to the last billions)the three bumiputras only worth Rm 2.8 billion?
We should be more concerned with that rather than why the heck is TDM's son among the 20.
By the way,Mokhzani listed Kencana (his source of wealth as per the Forbes listing)sometime last year i.e many moons after TDM retired.I believe he invested in the company after TDM's retirement..and actually expanded it organically and not by landing huge negotiated contracts.
Forbes valuation is based on holdings of public listed companies...and may exclude debts etc...and will certainly exclude any billions u may have under your mattress.
AYAH - Well said.
Ahli UMNO Temerloh -
Beri butiran mendalam saperti Sdr buat. Cara ini mungkin membolehkan rakyat di gerakkan supaya melaung sekuat kuat nya supaya timbul kemahuan politik/ political will pemimpin tertinggi untuk membasmi rasuah. That way, you would also be helping UMNO.
Not viable. Loan application not recommended".
Beri lah peluang sedikit kapada orang bahru.
Ahli UMNO Temerloh, usahakan lah suatu blog anti-rasuah.
YBhg Dato',
Is Mokhzani Mahathir a candidate for the post of UMNO Youth head? I thought we were all talking about KJ, MM and KT here.
Please enlighten me, Sir, and perhaps one other or two who may be a little bit confused in their eagerness to say something, irrelevant or otherwise.
Thank you.
AYAH
Beginilah Dato’ Sak,
All that – in totality and cumulatively telah memberikan persepsi negative kepada beliau.
Dia akan percaya sebab mental image dia dah locked based on certain factual premise of what gemuk is all about. Therefore, to counter this section is to rely on facts and formative arguments.
Di sinilah ujian bagi seseorang pemimpin itu kerana great leaders move their people not by moving their minds but by moving their hearts and emotions.
Penjelasan demi penjelasan yang Dato’ Sak berikan amat bernas dan berbaloi bagi minda yang berfikir or the first segment of the sceptics. Tapi saya rasa komen yang Dato’ Sak terima lebih merujuk kepada or stemmed from the latter group.
Pun begitu, characterisation di atas does not hold up for a third sceptics i.e. interest-based scepticism. Ini kerana kritikan dan scepticism mereka is a function of merits and demerits of doing so. Jadinya, ada persoalan untung-rugi di sini.
Kepada mereka yang masih sceptical tentang KJ, buat cost-and-benefit analysis tentang beliau – samaada dalam konteks UMNO dan pertandingan ini (yakni relative comparison dengan calon-calon lain vis-Ć -vis halatuju parti) ataupun dalam konteks new Malaysian politics, that creates new political challenges.
Dan buatlah jua penilaian. In corporate finance, a business value is empirically studied and analysed based on the combinations of the present value of existing assets component and present value of growth opportunities component. Likewise, bolehlah juga dinilai KJ ni dari his (present and potential) role, talent and leadership capital. Barulah fair assessment tu.
Hitler in Umno? Heh..
Inane is right... Perhaps the poster had just watch the latest Tom Cruise's movie on the same.
Anyway: KJ.
In my time as a journo, I had ample chance to meet the man. My first impressions of him are these:
A young politician who seems to have everything handed to him in a silver platter.
Entourage, cued raptuous applause on entry to Umno functions, seeming "respect" from even older statesmen; things like these.
There's not much humility in the man called KJ (outwardly, at least).
He's like one of those British Politics "Mandarin" - aloof yet inscrutinisable.
He's however more relaxed than Hishamuddin ever was.
Mukhriz I've never met.
Khir Toyo: Once, a long time before his "Tempe" facelift and certainly not enough to form an impression.
AK47 may I add,,,
If someone abuses their freedom of speech, to publish hate speech, so be it. The market will respond accordingly based on the strength of these ideas.
,,,, Correcting externalities like slander and incitement is something any economist would almost certainly agree with, but going any further and telling people that they cannot say this or cannot say that without more justification than "Some people don't like what you're saying" is unnecessary intervention.
What's important is allowing people to make their own choices, provided these choices do not harm others.
,,,, ideas which are the height of absurdity in one generation are common wisdom in another — to smother these "absurd" ideas in the cradle simply because we don't like some other truly bad ideas which resemble them is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
I rest my case,,,,sorry.

There are of course times when it is prudent to say nothing, but there are also times when it is better to voice what's on your mind. To say we should always shrink from criticism is just as wrong as saying that nothing positive should ever pass our lips.
The main problem is not criticism, but understanding how to deal with it and build on it. Malaysians often can't deal with criticism because those who criticise only know how to criticise, and the criticised don't know how to respond. Because we are so averse to dissent and disagreement, we do not know how to handle it gracefully, and we rarely see the right response as fixing the problem which led to the issue in the first place.
There is a lot of criticism out there that is simply not right — criticism from people who are just out there to be jerks and assholes, rather than actually contribute. But that does not invalidate criticism from people who do want problems solved. The trouble with our society is that we often appear not to realise this.
The appropriate response to criticism is to see if the problem is real, and try to solve it. If we can do something about it — whether that be writing to the Education Ministry or organising a dialogue with a local councillor — great. If we can't, too bad. Let's not take criticism personally; let's not take it as an insult, even when it is. Ignore the useless criticism, and be glad for the useful brickbats you do get. Our country will be much better off for it. Let’s take criticism as something constructive rather than destructive?.

Dear Dato',
I see that your articles are getting more more comments than usual. More readers are joining in to express their views.
On my part, I have reasons to dislike KJ, and vote against him, but based on the facts you have presented, I hate to agree that you are absolutely right. Of the three candidates nominated, KJ stands out.
Dato',
You will waste your time to fight this war. It's better if you focus not on countering KJ's hatred camps, but to more important issues.
However, some comments are real. Roughly you can estimate now how popular KJ is.
Sometimes, it's better to not over-popular with bad things. At least, being unknown has it advantages.
That's why people say don't let your in-laws or sons go into the politics when you're in power. It has more bad than good.
