The URA and the marginalisation of malays. Part 1. Tales by an unknown blogger no 100
1. For my 100th article in the tales by an unknown blogger series, I am writing my perspectives about the Urban Renewal Act , URA.
2. The ura wasa mooted by DAPs nga kor Meng. He is minister of housing
3. When the URA was first mooted, it raised a storm of protests. Especially from Malay supremacists. Plus other ' defenders of the hapless.
4. But before discussing the URA, let me say a few things about the brouhaha surrounding the controversial very pricey hawker kiosks.
5. It's ridiculous that a unit of kiosk costs so high. There are many of them. People are rightfully angry at that. So they direct their diatribes at NGA.
6. If the criticisms, very strident at that are appropriate, they are acceptable.
7. But what if these criticisms are actually vengeful venom directed at NGA, being a Chinese and from the DAP?
8. But if these criticisms are directed at nga in personam, Nga has every right to defend himself in any manner.
9. No one else has a right to insist Nga defend himself in a scripted way.
10. But what if Nga is defending not himself but his ministry and the officials therein?
11. Has anyone asked, who selected the vendors, approved the kiosk and okayed the unit price?
12. It may have been the ksu or su or heads of departments. And these are malays.
13. Because they are malays, using the simple but not easily disputed logic of the late tun hanif omar, there's a .95 probability that these people are corrupt .
14. You may remember, when hanif omar was asked why 95% of those arrested as communist sympathisers are chinese, he answered that since 95% of communists are Chinese so there is 95% probability that communist sympathisers are Chinese.
15. Logical right?
16. So if 95% of those actually caught and found guilty of corruption are malays, there is a 95% chance of the Malay officials in Ngas ministry are corrupt.
17. So the same ferocious punishment suggested for Nga because he is Chinese and DAP, should also be suggested for the Malay officials, right?
18. It shouldn't be that after realizing the real culprits behind the kiosk issue are malays, we suddenly back down in our ferocity. Tablay itu maciam, tamby.
19. Deal with the malays the same way you would if the culprit were Nga. Baru adil.
20. This is the problem with some malays. If they think that some decisions are made by a Chinese and DAP some more, there must be something fishy and sinister.
21. That's simply hate speech and opinions laced with racism To be continued in part 2
