A Single Spark that starts the prairie fire?

Dengar cerita CEO NFC (suami Sharizat) dpt gaji 100k sebulan, anak sulung (age 31) dpt gaji 45k sebulan, anak kedua (age 27)dpt 35k sebulan, anak ketiga (age 25) dpt 35k sebulan. Jika ini betul, ia sesungguhnya memalukan. Ambil duit rakyat buat bayar gaji besar.
Anak saya pun graduate juga. UPSR, PMR, SPM dapat semua A. Umur 24 tahun. Kerja swasta. Dia pun work hard. Balik kerja paling awal jam 9 malam. Kadang2 sampai 1 pagi. Gaji dia RM2,700/sebulan. Adakah anak saya akan sokong BN/UMNO kalau begini keadaannya? Saya dah tahu jawapannya. UMNO tak boleh kelentong orang cerdik. UMNO is not capable of changing, not with the current leaders.
When more than 50% of our working population is earning less than RM2k/month, tak tahu malu ke mereka-mereka ini. Merompak siang dan malam, 7 hari seminggu. Perompak Ali Baba P Ramli pun ada cuti hujung minggu.
8 December 2011 15:12

Even if we refuse to admit it, the above is an outpouring of bitterness. Although personal and UMNO people will wish it’s confined, its personal anecdote such as this that strikes fear in UMNO. Maybe it’s already that single initial spark that has ignited the prairie fire.
Shahrizat can huff and puff and weave her tales as her mythical namesake did in 1001 Nights. While she can fool UMNO delegates by employing attack is the best form of defence, her actions are only an exercise in futility. For her, the writing is already on the wall. Whatever she does will not extinguish her blackened image.
Dr Mahathir has called for her exit from UMNO politics. She’s finished. Incidentally, the 1001 Nights contained the story of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves which the writer of the comment cited.  Perhaps, Ali Baba and the thieves aptly describe what UMNO has become.
This kind of anecdotal and very personalized tale of feeling marginalized and alienated reflects the wider bitterness of Malays with UMNO. There is nothing that UMNO can do about it now. It’s a discredited brand. It’s synonymous with pillage and plunder, corruption, arrogance that can only be the result of being far too long in power. It’s the manifestation of the political dictum- power corrupts absolutely and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Last year, every big idea thrown up by the UMNO president, were rejected by UMNO delegates. When he spoke about 1 Malaysia, delegates insisted on Malay first, Malaysia second. The deputy UMNO president was even forthright in affirming that line of thinking, which is more in common with the UMNO ground. Even as UMNO members deny it, there is worrisome disconnect between the UMNO president and the rest of his team. When he spoke about his nebulous New Economic Model, delegates spoke about more NEP like policies.
In the end, what has Najib got to defend himself?
He has only the claim that he is the son of Tun Razak- imagining such pedigree is testimony that he won’t abandon principles dear to UMNO. When a person has nothing else to defend himself but lay bare his bloodline credentials it’s a sign he is in trouble. No one can deny that biological connection. The similarities end just there- as people are arguing whether he has inherited the leadership talent of the father.
This year what has UMNO got? It didn’t encourage delegates speaking about economic achievements. No talk on vision, policies and so forth. No one debates about how Shahrizat got the RM 250 million. No one spoke about the ETP, EPP, GTP and whatever labels the UMNO president gave to his string of initiatives. None. The UMNO president pleads for continued mandate from the people as the Malay Agenda has not finished. No one spoke or elaborated about the agenda.
How is that the agenda can only be achieved through UMNO at all? No one puts forth convincing arguments telling us why UMNO is the only qualified instrument for Malays to achieve their collective agenda. Najib is confused about the concept which he came up when he took over Pak Lah which is, the claim that the age of government knows best is over. Yet, by asking the nation to give him the mandate to enable him to continue the agenda, he is reaffirming the exact opposite. The government and the party is the deity and dispenser of what is good to the people.
The 2011 Umno GA was an occasion for an orgy of vituperative shouting match. UMNO does nothing but directed themselves to attacking and insulting its political opponents. UMNO does two things actually- heightened the morbid patriotism and nationalistic urges of Malays. And it does what it hasn’t done before- speak about Malays' greatest fear- assault on the religion of Islam.
But here is the irony, just as Najib who last year had nothing to offer but to invoke the name of his father, similarly too, this year, UMNO hasn’t got anything.
Listening to the maddening speeches by UMNO delegates, I am reminded of what Arthur Schopenhauer in his Essays and Aphorisms said:-
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”
That is what has UMNO become- an inferior good. It is a good that decreases in demand as social awareness increases. Malays in rural areas are not exactly insular in their outlook. They read the papers, understand what’s written in between the lines. Their children come back and inform parents. UMNO can’t fool all the people all the time with its scare mongering tactics.
Every speaker comes up before the podium, trying to outdo the previous in terms of bellicosity and vehemence. The specter of the Yellow Peril is upon us- Chinese will take away Malay rights, turn Malays into Christians, abolish the monarchy and so forth. It’s not going to work because of millions of people are thinking like the person sending in the above comment.
People know. They talk among themselves. It has become a huge money making juggernaut. The ones making money are the UMNO chieftains, cronies, families. UMNO operates a giant Ponzi scheme, not dissimilar to Harry Madoff’s multi-level marketing.
It can’t defend itself on its track record other than reminding people that UMNO has done much for the people and country. That claim sounds hollow because ALL governments in the world carry out programs and implement policies. Mubarak of Egypt did the same thing. Gaddafi gave Libyans much development and personal help to people. The Tunisian president did much development for Tunisia. Therefore what UMNO did, is not unique in that it is sufficient for people to feel beholden and enslaved by UMNO.
I feel sorry for the people who think, the widespread disenchantment with UMNO since 2008 and which has been building up is dismissively viewed as a flash in the pan and regarded, for self-assuring purposes, as mere protest votes. This time it’s real. Ordinary Malays are disputing UMNO’s empty claims of fighting for the interest of Malays.
And UMNO people realize this. This is what UMNO fears most- when Malays themselves start disputing what UMNO says and does.
The facts are these- the people who are ripping off Malays are the UMNO elites. Since Mahathir took over, UMNO has evolved into a company doing a gigantic Ponzi scheme. The elite, the UMNO chieftains, their families and cronies have been ripping the Malays. The RM 500-million fee from the purchase of the submarines? It was divided among top UMNO leaders and it’s rumored that a former PM got RM 160 million. Perhaps by way of this sedekah, the ill-gotten commission is cleansed no?
Who threatened the royal houses? UMNO did during the constitutional crisis years. UMNO leaders were the ones who proposed to tie up royal members on trees and let the fire ants sting them. UMNO was behind the exposure of scandalous behavior of members of the royal family. It wasn’t the Chinese who so much as besmirch the reputation of Malay rulers. I have said it before; the entrepreneurial Chinese would want to befriend the royalty so that through the royal houses, they can corner more businesses.
How can a numerically smaller group dominate a larger group? How can DAP convert Muslims to Christianity when the majority of DAP members are themselves not Christians?
The only way Malays lose everything, is the result of the rot in UMNO and UMNO says Dr Mahathir, is rotten to the core. It’s rotten as a result of endemic corruption. We now speak of billions and not a few hundred thousand being ripped off.
How does UMNO re-flock Malays into its fraternity? By preying on irrational prejudices, fear and probably some bad personal experience. This is the only way UMNO can re-flock Malays.
It’s a reaction that itself reflects fear and paranoia that are enveloping UMNO now. It hasn’t got any big ideas or visionary elements to bind the beliefs of Malays anymore. So, its only way out is to sound and represent itself as the uncompromising champion of Malay extremism.
That approach will fail simply because extremism and the patriotism promoted by UMNO are seen as measures by leaders to preserve themselves.  “Patriotism in its simplest, clearest and most indubitable signification is nothing else but a means of obtaining for the rulers their ambitions and covetous desires, and for the ruled the abdication of human dignity, reason, conscience, and a slavish enthrallment to those in power.”
Leo Tolstoy said that a long time ago.

Dato, spot on. You know i enjoy reading blog such as yours and Aspan Alias. Our country indeed is in need of a leader who can transform and unleash the fullest potential of its people and resources.

A very apt description of UMNO- the multi level marketing, ponzi scheming party out to rob the people by selling empty promises and promoting outright lies. And being a ponzi scheme and a multi level one at that, it doesn't matter that there are few people that are good and maybe "honest" in UMNO leadership.

Because UMNO itself has become the disease, whom ever is touched and is in vicinity of UMNO's 'black soul" has contracted the disease as well (and being that close, it's impossible to be immune from infection). And it's about time the Malays and Malaysian in general, quarantine UMNO for good and I think ABU has become the hope and the cure for the disease.

It has past the point of good candidate or winnable candidates. UMNO has become a disease that threatened the future of this country and it's people especially the Malays! And I sincerely see that most Malays and Malaysian are aware of the facts as well. It's hard not to see when all the symptoms and the open sores of the disease is displayed openly and sickeningly at that (and I do mean the PAU and the NFC fiasco etc)!

Nick.

Najib talks a lot about 'winnable candidate.' Right infront of his eyes' at Putrajaya he is having one sure loosing candidate. If he doesn't fire her, not only he is facing mammoth task to turn her into a winnable candidate, in all likelihood, many sure loosing candidates will also be fielded in coming general election. That's the end of UMNO.

Now that the chief president of Umno has spoken since the directionless PM failed in his job to, is the Cow-minister quietly packing up?

Just asking her to GO won't solve things for sure. It's misappropriation of public funds and we want Shahrizat, her husband and children together with whoever approved the RM240 loan be held accountable and made responsible for the mess, ..criminal breach of trust(CBT) no?

Salam Dato',

A great piece. Have you forwarded it to UMNO's President? It might do him a favour.

Remember the concept of Islam Hadhari introduced by ex PM? See how it evolves into money grabbing corrupt regime? Great hypocrites but Malay being Muslim whom also is the largest majority group in this country tolerates such misconduct by their self appointed leader. Ajaran agama ape tu?

Dato, this cow's scandal created by top Umno leaders and Shahrizat's family members is soon going to be to hot to handle.Although 250 million ringgit is small in terms of Umno's corruption index scale,it has already turned into a fireball.

The cow's scandal has draw a lot of attention and interest from the ordinary guys,BN and PR supporters alike.Even fencesitters too.It is fair to say that NFC was set up with the main interest of supplying affordable beef to all Malaysians, especially the Malays.

The Malays consumed the most of beef besides chicken as a source of protein. The prices of fish, the other source of protein for the Malays has gotten out of hand.It is even too expensive for many Chinese and Indians too. This cow's scandal will draw a lot of interest and anger among the ordinary Malays,as this project was specially set up with them in mind.

Najib, again showed and proved to all Malaysians that he is weak and lack in leadership calibre.Instead of confronting the scandal headfront,he sat back and watch it snowballed. Now the cows has come home and haunt him.Even Mahathir's last call for the cow's minister to exit with shame has come too late for damage control.

Dato

1/2

Like it or not, it is inevitable.

Adakah UMNO sedar? Therefore, the future will be a class struggle not racial clash.

cont...2/2

Back to NFC, rasanya terdapat ramai perompak UMNO yang dapat hasil dari wang rakyat berjumlah RM250 juta ini termasuk menteri pertanian ketika projek ini diberi kepada keluarga Sharizat dulu. Lu tolong gua gua tolong you.

Yang tak dapat 'bahagian' mungkin Bung Mokhtar and the ex-PM who can walk on water kerana berani mendesak Sharizat berhenti.

The only way is to vote for a change.

Your earlier remark regarding Muhyiddin speech in umno general assembly is starting to manifest.

Before we go on. If I were KJ, Shahrizat, Rosmah and whoever was mentioned by Pak Din the DPM- not Pak Din the murtabak seller in Kg Mengkasar Pekan, I would be circumspect and careful. In another era, a previous DPM also from Johor, mentioned a number of people as warriors when UMNO went on the warpath with the Royal Houses. Note ya- not PAS or DAP which brayed for royal blood but UMNO.

If memory doesn’t fail me, that speech was made in Mat Indera’s hometown Batu Pahat and a total of 7 people were singled out. The previous DPM and all those he mentioned in glowing terms not unlike what presently Pak Din does, vanished from the political scene. One of those mentioned then, is now facing legal upheavals- the outcome of the devious and sick minds of UMNO people. Another is of course the present PM. We can see the writings on the wall for Pak Din, KJ, Shahrizat and horrors of horrors- Rosmah Mansor. But then the laws of karma have their own way to arrive at retribution.

Some vicious meddling and monkey biz over at FELDA by Umno's Bagan Pinang Assemblyman Isa Samad and PM Najib behind it?

Sammy Cooper,  11 December 2011 at 02:28

You couldn't have said it any better, Dato. But what baffles me is what are you still doing in UMNO? They are beyond repair.

bruno,  11 December 2011 at 04:58

Dato,Umno is now like a desperate wounded animal. With scandals after scandals coming out, there is nothing that Umno does that seems right in the eyes of the people. It looks more like a tin kosong, empty barrel political party.

Using religion, race and fear mongering to rally the troops in the recent concluded Umno GA.What responsible leaders will sink down to the gutters to do that. And these scaremongers and bigots want forgiveness from the people,to be given another chance to lead the country for another five years. If Umno GOM is still in power after this coming GE,the people cannot complaint anymore as they were the ones who voted them in.

It even has party leaders coming out to openly defend a minister and her family caught in a corruption scandal. What it is sending out as a message to the people,is that Umno supports its ministers and cronies involved in corruption and will defend them if they are caught. What more can be expected of a party that continiously loot the coffers of the people's bank.

Rampant corruption getting out of control, racial and religious bigots running loose, six hundred urban terrorist aka mat rempits set loose in heavily populated PJ by Umno youth, rapist and murderers in the present cabinet has made Dr Mahathir look like an angel.

Anonymous,  11 December 2011 at 07:04

I totally agree with you.

Starting from Mahathir's time onward, UMNO has become an arrogant bully. They have become big, fat and dysfunctional much like the Roman empire before its fall, full of corruption and largesse to cronies.

Raison D'etre 11 December 2011 at 08:05

Am agreeing whole-heartedly with Sammy Cooper, SM.

Why are you still in UMNO really? Insider information, perhaps?

A belief of there being still some good people in the party?

(Who unfortunately seems to be a dying breed..)

Wondering also how far the ruling elite will go to to bring their feudalistic (POZI scheme, SM? Nice analogy) reign to continue.

Yep, the nation has lost much from this modern day version of the 40 thieves.

Let's not be tainted by way of association,SM. Be independent. God knows we need people, no, make that people's reps who can speak their own mind and not be some string-manipulated, commission-taking,tong kosong puppet.

I have no love for PR, but they are representing the best option (the only option) to arrest the systematic lanuning by the elitist Malays and their ilks.

Taqwa,  11 December 2011 at 08:38

Dato,a beautiful piece. All things and issues that you have raised had been a constant source of misery and disenchantment for me with UMNO and the Government for the past decade or so. The corruption in UMNO and the BN Government has reached a stage where the very survival of this nation has been put on threat. Time is running short for us as the feeding frenzy of the UMNO warlords and their cronies increases. Give them another five years and only God knows what miserable situation we are going to be in. I say, let us once and for all remove the malignant cancer that is UMNO and BN and save this nation, if not for ourselves at least for generations to come.

Dato, a great piece of works. This is what majority of Malays is thinking I believed. UMNO has to reinvent itself. The brand is bad.

greenbottle 11 December 2011 at 09:56

dear dato'

despite what you say about the malaise of UMNO which all thinking people will agree wholeheartedly, unfortunately i think UMNO will have a life of at least 10 more years.

this is because of what i will term as 'quiet despair' syndrome.

this guy 'quiet despair' is so stupid that it's beyond description. He is a classic diehard umno person that whatever facts you say will never sway him from supporting umno. And unfortunately there are a huge number of malays who are still exactly like him. This lack in intellectual capacity to change is the single most critical factor in making the malays lag in everyting in their own country.

Anonymous,  11 December 2011 at 10:06

Corruption in UMNO is an ingrained culture where ALL their top leaders knows all of them are involved one way or the other. It is a matter of how much each of them can steal from the Rakyat and whether their evil deeds are exposed. Take the case of NFC where there seem to be no reaction or surprise as far as UMNO top leadership is concerned as corruption and stealing is a "normal" way of life for them. Unfortunately, a lot of Malays still think that UMNO is fighting for their rights & future. Its like unknowingly inviting thieves into their houses and are very happy about it. This is due to the good propaganda job done by our Malay newspapers. BTW Datuk, keep on the good work which can be a catalyst to the quick demise of UMNO, the real enemy of the Malay community. Salam.

Dear SAK;
I truly enjoy reading your column and always looking forward to it. You are among the few who are brave enough to call a spade a spade. UMNO is beyond redemption and corrupted to it' s core. In computer world, when our computer becomes corrupted with virus and beyond repair, we will wipe off the disk and reformat the entire content. Then we will install the new operating system and start afresh. Then we will look at our old files and salvage only the ones that we think still good and go through cleaning process like scanning thru using anti-virus. I think this is what umno need to do to stay relevant!

Thank you SAK for being honest and brave enough to stand up.

"A Single Spark that starts the prairie fire?"

Dato',

Very well said, magnificient article.

In Bolehland we hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.

No matter how noble the objectives of a government, if it blurs decency and kindness, cheapens human life and breeds ill will and suspicion – it is an evil government.

And the question is:

To whom have we so carelessly granted that power?

Are THEY the kind who would understand YOU , who from their experiences would know something of the fears and struggles you have faced?

Will THEY care about YOU or about JUSTICE?

Finally to share this...

Revolutionary Politics : Judge Napolitano: "A nation of sheep breeds a govt. of wolves" - http://revolutionarypolitics.tv/video/viewVideo.php?video_id=16478

The call for ABU is timely and it will reverberate into the the citizen's and nation's battlecry for Justice...

You be the judge.

Shalom.

Anonymous,  11 December 2011 at 11:19

Dato,

The fact that UMNO delegates did not debate or touch on the massive corruption within itself and Sharizat-NFC fiasco is because corruption and abuse of power are already well and living inside its UMNO heart, blood and veins. Corruption is a culture in UMNO which is taken as the rights of the UMNO elites through officially sanctioned corrupt deals. What's the point of debating on how Sharizat's husband got RM250 million from the government when it could mean the delegates spilling the beans on themselves who have already gotten similar "soft loans" or spoiling their chances to get such loans in due course. Every single UMNO delegate harbours the hope of joining the elite circle of UMNO seniority so that they too will then enjoy their "rights" to wealth through officially sanctioned corruption by their own leaders.

Majority of the delegates are not upset or angry with Sharizat's husband getting the RM250 million. They are angry that Sharizat got caught and they are fuming because they too could be under scrutiny. So the best thing UMNO thought they should do is is to keep quiet and not talk about Sharizat and the NFC in the UMNO GA. The UMNO senior leadership may have put a gag order on debating the NFC thinking and instead focus on the frenzy attack against the opposition using the 3R strategy, i.e, Race, Religion and Royalty.

Has UMNO succeeded in creating fear and paranoia in the Malay masses that the Malays will lose their culture and be converted to Christians, Christianity with replace Islam and the Malay sultans will be replaced with a republic? Its learned and open minded Malays like yourselves who can see through the UMNO propaganda of fear and diversion. There are still plentiful of Malays, young and old who still look upon UMNO as their only saviour judging from the photos of happy face young Malay men and women flocking to PWTC to buy Wanita UMNO pink scarves and waiting to have their pictures taken with their UMNO idols. I believe that the open minded right thinking Malays are in the small minority while the majority of Malays are still unable to let go the shackles that UMNO had put on their minds and souls. The coming GE13 will prove whether I am right or wrong in my belief above.

Patrick 11 December 2011 at 11:22

No matter how you restructure your thoughts and articles, UMNO is corrupt and crooked. But suffice to say, UMNO is now in a very bad predicament in the form of Sharizat.

Ironically, UMNO's Sharizat has personally nailed the last nail into the UMNO's own coffin. Sharizat will be forever etched in UMNO's history as being the only woman who single handedly brought down the party with her mighty arrogance and greed. No matter if Sharizat resigns reluctantly or not, UMNO is sunk. If she leaves or is removed, her family will have to account for RM 250M back to the govt, which they cant, and will be subject to criminal prosecution. And UMNO has not known to punish one of its own, which in itself, will bring down the govt as well. If she remains in UMNO, Sharizat will be the poster lady of UMNO for the coming elections, to represent all that is UMNO; greed, arrogance, etc; which will be great fodder for the opposition's ceramahs and UMNO's downfall.

UMNO never fails to bring out the worst in themselves. Now lets wait for the FELDA bubble to burst and witness more tales of corruption, deceit, power play and back stabbing manipulation of the system, which only UMNO knows BEST.

A very good piece to expose the modus operandi and modus vivendi of UMNO tribal heads. The 3.4 millions ordinary members to them are nothing but head counts for the them to justify their wrongdoings. As an ordinary member I'm very fuming reading this piece. Apo nak dikato den motong gotah ajo kato sepupu den!

Sir,

Your pen is truly mightier than the sword. May your ink never runs dry.

Despite all the Agama, why is the CI higher than Kafir Singapore, New Zealand etc?

What is synonymous with corruption here?

I really don't know the answers but I hope change will come this GE13.

Thanks so much again to you SIR, for raising the awareness of the rakyat about our political landscape.

dato,

guess what? last week my client and I had so-called dined into *Meatworks* ... our little bill came up to more than RM200 for a pax of 2. If the so called NFC chain is to produce beef/meat that is affordable for the Malays and by extension the masses; this is indeed ironic.

It costs more than what we would have dine at other joints such as TGIF and at the same time if at all the only consolation the joint has to offer is the ambience; I need not tell you more whether patrons such as ourselves will come back ever again to this joint.

Dato, the question is, can Najib accurately identify the winnable candidates, given the current condition that does not favor him much in terms of choice making. As a matter of fact, majority of the lawmakers in BN are not winnable candidates due to the rampant corruption practice. If there need to be a revamp within the BN component parties, now is the time for a major overhaul exercise.

that 1 coreuption is allowed to go on for so long is because there is no resolve to implement the penalty that could have stop the rot.
let's forget all that had happened. ask ourselves what are we going to do. are we to keep harping on yet offer no alternative?
we had in the past elected leaders who were qualified? but lacked integrity running our country. why not someone maybe not as much educated but has one thing not many leaders have- trust.
a god fearing muslim leader will plug the plundering of our assets and that single act will do what our present leaders couldn't or wouldn't stop the pillage.
it wouldn't help that the oil's bank statement isn't made public.
can we begin by declaring that we malaysians will only vote for any leader who subscribe himself to a declaration ie:

1. all national assets will be made known to all its citizens.

2. all leaders to declare by law any assets they and their families have.

3. severe punishments not excluding the death penalty for any government servant committing corrupt practices.

maybe the way this is written sounds simplistic and just like an old malay movie shown on tv countless of times, maybe we could begin by you, dato, to lead us out of this mess.

Dato, I love all your writtings. PR should appoint you as an Advisor to the newly elected government soon. Please keep writting, please,.

OneMalaysians,  11 December 2011 at 15:51

Dear Sakmongkol

That was indeed a penetrating analysis of the current position of Umno and the Malays. The writer whose son earns RM2400 might well be the equivalent of the Tunisian fruit seller who set himself on fire and thus started the Tunisian revolution that turned into the Arab Spring. It has been said that a storm begins with the flap of a butterfly's wings. For the sake of the Malays I hope a spring will soon come. They have waited too long. Shahrizat and the NFC fiasco is significant not in itself but as a powerful symbol of how Umno chieftains enrich themselves while pretending to serve and protect the Malays.

tbh,  11 December 2011 at 17:02

JMM survey said more than50% Malaysians want PPSMI.
Tun M, PAGE and other blogs polled even higher %.

Yet in UMNO GA2011, about 5800 delegates representing >3m members, no mention of PPSMI. In fact, not a person speak out STRONGLY for PPSMI.

If UMNO claimed to represent the people, especially the malays, the rural folks & the poor, this is a sad reflection of that claim.

Bidin Bin Atan,  11 December 2011 at 17:25

Pak Sak,

Nama saya Bidin. Bapa saya Atan. Saya Bidin bin Atan. Saya bekerja dgn GLC semenjak tahun 1990. Ketika saya mula kerja pada tahun 1990 dulu, gaji saya hanya $1000 walaupun saya berkelulusan U. Pada tahun 1994 baru saya mula mampu beli kereta pertama saya , Proton Iswara pada harga $34K, itu pun dgn pinjaman. Sebelum itu saya pergi keja dgn menonggeng dlm Bas Mini selama 4 tahun.

Hanya pada tahun 2000, baru gaji saya mencecah $3,000. Saya hanya mampu beli baju kerja sehelai sebulan, itupun chap Durban

Just one question: Why are you and Ku Li still in Umno?

Benghazi Boy

Quiet Despair,  11 December 2011 at 19:13

Yes, Shahrizat must go. NOW. No doubt about that. Bapak kitapun dah desak dia blah.
Is she waiting for Najib's say so? Guess so. No needlah Aunty. All the signs are written on the wall.
It seems she consulted Najib on whether she must go. And the reply was be cool. Hang on, this will go quietly. But that was then.
Now the issue is imploding in her face.
There are undercurrents during the PAU on her still staying on. She knows it and that is why she wasn't socializing much that day and look at her face.
Despite delegates not bringing up her issue, she should have said something like she's sorry it happened but it was beyond her control as she's not directly involved.
Instead she chose to be defensive dengan menyinsing lengan. Adoi mak, mahu lawan seperti menegak benang basah. But pfft, tak ada apa-apapun.
She made a grave mistake in accusing the opposition when the fiasco was mentioned in the AG's report.
Truth be told, many in Wanita UMNO wants her to go because it's difficult to defend her during the coming campaign.
She will not lose anything. She already lost Pantai and she stll has her senatorship and Wanita UMNO head position.
She's jeopardizng Raja Nong Chik's sure victory in Lembah Pantai.
Resignlah. Sit tight as the police have said there's no case to answer.
Now Aunt Ijat is hanging on to Ibu Negara's sarong for her political life-line.
Notice that she praised Rosmah Mansor three times in her speech.
Sak,of course you and I know it's not in UMNO's favor to bring up the issue openly.
And it's not in UMNO's culture or style to demand leader's resignation openly.
Only koochi rat like Bung Mokhtar
who dares. This bloke must also go.
Give her a little time to come to her senses. Najib wil do a quiet persuasion.
Then a terse statement will come out: "Shahrizat dengan sukarela mengundur diri atas kepentingan parti dan demi cintakan UMNO."
As to the whining about her privileged children, well why must we be envious.
That is the way the system works the world over.
Her doktor pokok hubby will not get the contract if not for her connections.
You and I may go to a 10 ten world class U, but we start like the other minions.
Privileged kids may go to a uni in the middle of cornfields, but they get better jobs and better perks.
They know the lubang or where to go and do not have to go through the process of applying and going for interviews.
It might be popular and boho for you to be joining in this whining about privileges.
Just move on. Life goes on.
I know this will not go down well with my best buddy Bruno.
Awaiting his response.

The reasons why the ETP,EPP,GTP and all the other Ps were not discussed :-

1. The delegates were either confused or totally ignorant what the Ps are and how they are related to each other. You are bound to get choked when you start mentioning those Ps in one breath. So the best way out was 'forget it and don't mention anything about them.'

2. The delegates were just following through from where Najib has left in his opening address. They equally went berserk and became hysterical condemning and demonising all and sundry in the oppositions.

Dato'

Its all the innumerable "Quiet Despairs" that allowed UMNO to exist the way it is....

The Best Way is if these Quiet Despairs can do good for the Country is that they should refrain from voting in the next elections....

Just Stay Home in Despair!

Monkey does what monkey sees,Umnoputra's are all like that, btw the 3 over million members in Umno, the one that I will hold resposibility on our current situation is non other than Mahathir, say all u want about the rest,Mahathir showed them that the majority Malays are forgiving that being our religious culture,so taking advantage of that,he plundered the nation, sideline the Monarchy(they themselves are not that innocent) n encourage corruption in the civil service n Umno "monkey does what monkey sees",that's he's way of holding their balls,he is so sinister that way.He lambasted the Jews(with their permission)to show the world he's Islamic heroism, but kept most of his money in Tel Aviv, that i have an inside view thru one of he's cronies, one day that story will come out.Insha allah

Quiet Despair,

Hi Buddy, you sure hit the nail spot on the head.Of course your diehard defense of Umnoputras does not go down well with me.But first things first.

Raja Nong Chik standing as a candidate in Lebuh Pantai against a six footer petite lady like Nurul. Are you guys in Umno really that serious in bringing the fight to the opposition.Pitting Raja Nong Chik against Nurul is like throwing a bucketful of minnows into a pond filled with Japanese Koi's.No offense to Raja Nong Chik,of course.Only to his handlers.

The electorate in Lebuh Pantai would prefer to see Muhamad Ali vs Joe Frazier than to see Mike Tyson vs Lindsay Lohan.Don't you think so.Lebuh Pantai residents would prefer to see Khairy Jamaluddin vs Nurul Izzah. That way if Nurul cruises to a KO over Khairy,no way QD can wriggle his way out.

Let me give you a friendly advice, buddy.Just look at the cow's scandal. If PM Najib with his highly overpaid PR team, have just an iota of brains and political guts, they would have sent Shahrizat packing on the same day the scandal broke.Instead of confronting the lembu by its horn, they play political chicken.

If the Najib administration have any capable leaders at all, this cow's scandal would have been nibbed on the bud.Indtead they sat back, waiting, hopping and praying that the controversy would fade away. Now the cow's scandal has snowballed, and the cows have come home to haunt Umno.

If the Umno GOM with all its machinery cannot handle the cow's scandal, how is it able to lead a nation of over twenty eight million people.

It is time diehards like you, buddy QD to look at the crystal ball and ask yourself this question. What if Umno were to retain power for the next fifty four years. What will the future of our children and grandchildren be.Will they be better off or very far worse off.

If we were to take a popular poll today,by a neutral pollster, the answer will be ninety nine percent very worse off under Umno, the remaining one percent better off with QD and company in its corner. It is time for reality and to face the truth.Sometimes the truth really hurts, but it is always better to be late than never.Cheers buddy.

manghup 12 December 2011 at 01:13

Sir, if the top guns in UNMO have not read about you then indeed they are in big trouble. What you have been writing and if they dont see the picture then they are goners

Cruzeiro 12 December 2011 at 09:19

Lovely piece, Sak!
It is this kind off writing that would help people think.
I'm sharing & putting it up on my blog.
Good job.

Dato, the one who sent in his comment about his son, is a rarity. The majority of the Malays in this country still feel very insecure, that is why UMNO is able to manipulate their fears to its advantage. Otherwise, UMNO would have bungkus many GE ago. This is a sad reality. I pray everyday for a bright Malaysia to come soon, without UMNO/BN.

Quiet Despair :

"As to the whining about her privileged children, well why must we be envious.
That is the way the system works the world over.
Her doktor pokok hubby will not get the contract if not for her connections".

This fella must be a clown. Getting a contract from the govt and abusing cheap govt grants by paying themselves exhorbitant salaries, perks and holidays are 2 different things. The first maybe priviledge but the later is betrayal. It is our money that they stole. As long as Malays are forgiving, UMNO can forever cheat them. Wake up please!

Anonymous,  12 December 2011 at 15:30

Our good doctors said (I paraphrase), ‎"When things are not broken, it does not need fixing". Never a better true saying.

But if it is broken, it need fixing. If it cannot be fixed it has to be changed.

How do we know it is broken and needed to be changed?

It has been leaking and breaking down for 50 years.

Actions done/not done has not fixed it. Therefore it has to be changed!

Recently a retired Malay man told me that he had to borrow money to buy decent clothes for his son who had been called for an interview.
The son, a U grad, didn't get the job.

The father said it seemed all jobs are reserved for UMNO VIP children who don't need even to attend interviews.
Their father just make phone calls.

Anon 15.46

Cry the beloved country for its innocent citizens, bumi or otherwise, who had to swallow dignity to try get a job in private or with the govt. My heart goes out to the father who tried his best for his son.
