Distancing in Najibspeake, means go jump off the cliff.

What the UMNO president means.

We don't know what he means. He speaks in riddles. He says in confidence, lets snuff out PERKASA. He encourages the formation of rival NGOs. But none came forward. He asks his people to gun down Perkasa, but gives them no guns. Nobody causes fatalities with water pistols.

He says again. Let us distance ourselves from Perkasa. But what does he mean. we don't know. All we know he is not consistent. But perhaps that is the style of politicians. Always non committal , always inserting escape hatches. Distancing in Najibspeake means- FO Perkasa.

The fact of the matter, the message to his MKT members must have been clear enough to motivate KJ, Nazri Aziz, Khalid Nordin to say bad things against Perkasa.

But you know people, they want to pull punches when it comes to the UMNO president even though, he meant Perkasa to be rid off in the 1st place. Let us be clear- as long UMNO remains committed to Malay Leadership, there is no place for Perkasa.

I hope the Perkasa people realize this. There is no need to 'protrude your cheeks when your nose isn't sharp"- hidung tak mancung, pipi di sorong sorong. Ibrahim Ali should tell his people, Perkasa is independent of UMNO's approval. It exists in spite of UMNO. Why do you want to be part of UMNO.?

UMNO has so many things that are diametrically opposed to your ideals. You fight for NEPish Malay rights as of right issue where UMNO wants to have economic advancement through meritocracy and application of oneself. You stand for Malay first ideology, where UMNO wants to offer compromises. You are directly opposites so you don't need UMNO. Unless of course, behind that temper tantrums and show of force, you actually want to get back into UMNO. You can but you to have to subscribe to UMNO thinking.

Let us not kid ourselves, however Najib says it, UMNO doesn't want to have anything to do with Perkasa. Whatever Perkasa aspires for, UMNO can do better provided they apply themselves to it. I have written several articles on this. That fact has been pointed out by blogger A Voice.

I will answer only one part of the questions he asked. As to the ideology of Perkasa, its none of my business to say how Perkasa should conduct its business. My interest is how should UMNO behave and what it must do. That was my central theme in my articles. I have said it clearly, the principal cause of the confusion on the relation between UMNO and Perkasa is the vacillating stance of the UMNO president.

What Perkasa supporters have done is to unashamedly embrace Najib's ambivalence to support its own cause. It's a shame because Najib is President of UMNO not Perkasa.

Just yesterday, he confounded everyone by seemingly saying, again, UMNO is not antagonizing Perkasa but…. In other words fellers, he is saying, UMNO wants nothing to do with Perkasa. So why does Perkasa people feel, they must at one with the PM?

But that is the style with which the UMNO president speaks. That is his 'endearing' character flaw which sucks. He has been at the political game since a youngster. He knows the game inside out. Whatever stance he takes and however often he cages them, he is always playing politics. Hence speaking in riddles is part f his persona.

I will offer you the reasons why the UMNO president behaves as he does. When he was a young boy staying at Sri Taman, his favorite book was Alice in Wonderland. Its probable he has taken to heart, the teachings of the Hatter.

The Hatter opened his eyes very wide on hearing this; but all he said was, "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
"Come, we shall have some fun now!" thought Alice. "I'm glad they've begun asking riddles. — I believe I can guess that," she added aloud.
"Do you mean that you think you can find out the answer to it?" said the March Hare.
"Exactly so," said Alice.
"Then you should say what you mean," the March Hare went on.
"I do," Alice hastily replied; "at least--at least I mean what I say--that's the same thing, you know."
"Not the same thing a bit!" said the Hatter. "You might just as well say that 'I see what I eat' is the same thing as 'I eat what I see'!"
"You might just as well say," added the March Hare, "that 'I like what I get' is the same thing as 'I get what I like'!"
"You might just as well say," added the Dormouse, who seemed to be talking in his sleep, "that 'I breathe when I sleep' is the same thing as 'I sleep when I breathe'!"
(Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Chapter 7)

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - - that's all."
(Through the Looking Glass, Chapter 6)

Najib should know by now that those who sit on the fence too long will fall with their faces downwards.

Najib wants to be somebody for everybody. The trouble is there a bad division within the "everybody".

At this rate, Najib is slowly looking like a leader with no balls and spineless when the chips are down.

Imagine if the country is invaded or threatened by foreign elements. Would Najib's kind of leadership would lead to the sell-out of the country, as some historians had blamed the Malay rulers of recent past for selling out to colonialists?

Strong leadership is about taking tough decisions for the bigger good of the public interest and national interest.

Najib is running scared of making tough decisions for pure partisan politics, not public or national interest.

PERKASA is a growing malignant CANCER in the national life-blood of the country.

And at the same time PERKASA is sucking up the life-blood of UMNO as party which had ruled the country of the last 50 years. PERKASA whose membership is mainly from UMNO is a third degree malignant cancer cell living and simultaneously killing off the body of UMNO, slowly but surely, with the help of Mahathir, Mukhriz and Muhyiddin.

Najib must be wary of the 3M in UMNO ( MAHATHIR, MUKHRIZ and MUHYIDDIN)

Najib must wake up to realise this very quickly.

Perhaps, paradoxically, it would be PERKASA ( consisting of mainly UMNO members), not PKR or PAS which will finally remove UMNO from winning Government in the next election.

no riddle. UMNO is simply not compatible with Perkasa. it appears so, because the UMNO president is a political invertebrate. we know what he meant.

PANJI HITAM 61 18 September 2010 at 21:54

Salaam Datok,

Why is everybody so paranoid of Perkasa... for God’s sake, Perkasa is only a pressure group. The only logical reason they fear Perkasa because of their insecurity… believe me, I have won many battled against these insecure people including Pak Lah pre, during, pre, and post BERSIH days.

Btw, I was there when Tok Him WHACKED Najib senseless during the MPM closing and soon ,we shall know whether Najib is insecure, inconsistent or incompetent.

Let it be known, Perkasa is not anti Chinese or anti Indian but we are definitely anti Liberal Malays.

P.S: Panjihitam is not anti Govt , just anti Incompetent Govt.

Ariff Sabri 18 September 2010 at 21:58

panjihitam

that is the reason why i dont understand why UMNO people are losing sleep. just let Perkasa does what it wants. the UMNO President must have a spine made of steel. cakap sahaja terang terang. ini mahu main silap mata

Dear Sakmongkol

Yes, it is hard, and a bit frustrating, to guess at Najib’s ambivalence with regards to Perkasa. Perkasa is a nasty thorn in his side, annoying him, and undermining his efforts to bring the fractious major partners – MCA and MIC – into a stronger union to fight the next general election. The poison that Perkasa is spewing is driving support away from these parties, not to mention fair-minded, moderate Malays as well. So Perkasa is as welcome as a skunk.

Yet Perkasa – really an unregistered political party and not a true NGO as claimed – does represent a significant portion of the Malays, and importantly, many of their numbers come from UMNO. One could say that Perkasa is de facto the extreme right wing of UMNO. That explains why although Najib hates Perkasa for being a saboteur, he is quite impotent in dealing with it because it is really a part of UMNO - the right wing of the party that went outside the party to fight its moderate president. If Najib really has power he can simply tell UMNO members to quit Perkasa on pain of being sacked from the party. That would be a good test of his strength in UMNO.

But Najib must have calculated that it does not pay to confront Perkasa directly because any extreme measure such as asking Perkasa’s UMNO members to quit might backfire with them challenging his authority by not obeying that order. And the rebellion might spread. Then what?

So Najib’s best bet is to keep pushing his reform agenda in the hope that he can convince most UMNO members and other non-Malay Malaysians to support him. If this happens and he wins big at the next GE, he will then have the strength and authority to deal with Perkasa and his enemies within UMNO.

But he might just simply be a wishy-washy, indecisive leader who is always saying …… on the one hand, but on the other hand……. .

Salam Dato' Sak,

"....The UMNO President must have a spine made of steel.cakap sahaja terang-terang.ini mahu main silap mata."

The trouble is the President has got no spine at all.And no balls, too.

"The fact of the matter, the message to his MKT members must have been clear enough to motivate KJ, Nazri Aziz, Khalid Nordin to say bad things against Perkasa."

Answer me this then, why over 30+ supreme council members there, only this 3 shouting nonsense abt Perkasa but the rest showed support?

Logic dictates those 3 salah dengar atau cuma mahu dengar apa yang mereka mahu dengar. Fact is, Perkasa not good for their political survival.

The statement below is the very reason why Umno is losing malay support--->

"UMNO wants to have economic advancement through meritocracy and application of oneself. You stand for Malay first ideology, where UMNO
wants to offer compromises."

Umno headed by Najib and you as the self appointed spokesperson of Najib think that compromises and meritocracy in the midst of current hostile environment by the non Malays will make them win votes. Datuk, learn from history. The situation now is akin to Umno days when it was first created in 1946. Back then the non Malays were shouting deaths to Malay sovereignty and hegemony.

If Umno compromises, nothing will be left for the Malays. With so many millions poured in to chinese schools, do the racist pressure groups of dong zong and jiao zong grateful?

Not at all. In fact, they want more. At what expense? Over RM140 million were given to chinese schools for the past 10 by elections.

That money could have been given to the more delapidated national schools.

Compromising this way is what makes Umno a joke. You compromise at a weak position, you will left with nothing. I'm surprise education doenst make you realise this.

Perkasa is there to balance all this chinese racist demands. You think chinese groups want to embrace your 1Malaysia concept? They want to chinesizing all of you if they were given a chance.

Nazri and KJ are fallen for this trap in their quest to stay in power. Think Datuk!

haha

Najib is discrete and non-confrontational

Sak and others who are up-in-your-face kind, is having problems understanding Najib

Anonymous,  19 September 2010 at 00:42

PERKASA is the voice of the constitution. Why are insecure people anxious?

Najib does not say that PERKASA is incompatible with UMNO.

He can't and should not be SEEN to welcome PERKASA in consideration of BN partners.

But I think secretly he is happy they are formed.

Kaz,  19 September 2010 at 01:31

D Sak,

PM playing safe or he's just shitting himself at the prospect of Dr. M having a go at him? Time for leaders to lead i say. Afterall he has his panglima's like KJ, Nzari, Zahid and Ku Nan backing him up. Thats a dream team to thrash Dr M once and for all.

Selamat Lebaran

Anonymous,  19 September 2010 at 06:51

When UMNO by itself can't redeem itself of his own direction and mission in leading the nation, what more with some minority of its hardcore members now splitting to Perkasa, the rakyat see that the BN/UMNO will cease to get endorsement to lead the country in the coming election.

Let Pakatan Rakyat, the lesser evil of the two, for once lead the nation now.

We welcome the bright sunny direction of the new Kerajaan baru.

Selamat datang.

oopps...perkasa standard umno induk pulak ....guana mu nie ....well i can buy that when kj is still the kutua pemuda umno...i wonder if khir toyo or mukhriz is the ketua pemuda, especially mukhriz, will the same senario persis, i wonder ye .....maybe...maybe...it could different...

Anonymous,  19 September 2010 at 09:55
