Fair dinkum, mate

It's Anwar's comeuppance. How come a person like Nik Aziz isn't plagued with an accusation of sodomy like Anwar? Nik Aziz is a bigger person than Anwar. It would be politically profitable to bump Nik Aiz with such an accusation.

No one would believe that right? So why should the government be stupid enough to choose an Issue that will be treated as ridiculous and so preposterous? It is the nature of the accusation that allows Anwar to speak of a bloody conspiracy. Unless you are convinced it's true, you are willing to take the risks.

So Anwar Supporters shouldn't flatter themselves saying Anwar is a threat to BN or UMNO.

The reason is, Anwar opens himself to that charge. He must have that tendency that makes him susceptible to such a charge. There must be something in Anwar that attracts such accusations.

Just like the first sodomy charge, why pick such difficult issue to get Anwar? You know his credentials- the Renaissance man, the one who incessantly talks of Islamic this and that, who seems to breath and live Islam all his life. To get on him on a charge that is so unIslamic given his credentials would be suicidal. The accuser will face not only local ridicule but also earn the ire of the whole world.

Unless of course, the charge was true. So bizarre and preposterous it could only be true. That the government is willing to go through all the difficulties, contempt and odium to nail Anwar, tells something of substance in the accusation. In the end he was lucky, on technicalities he got away. The courts were of the opinion that some homosexual activities did take place. Why should anyone be willing to pay such a high price unless the issue is true? That Anwar is really a bugger and a faggot.

Now a second sodomy charge- why go through the whole thing again unless it's true? Why should Malaysia risks international disapproval or as Michael Danby says, Malaysia's global esteem will go down. Sorry mate, this case simply will not go away just because 50 or so insufficiently informed Aussies didn't like what's happening to Anwar. Nobody says its plain sailing for the government prosecutors. Every contention will be disputed. The vehement disputes from the defence will have to come to terms with evidence and facts.

We are acting fair dinkum, mate. We are sorry it offends your sexual sensibilities.

That's certainly one way of looking at it.

The other is that the regulators are so bereft of ideas that they think that it worked before, so let's try this again.

If you were to ask a non-Umno person-on-the-street, no one really gives a flying fvk.

But they do care that this damn government is waging this stupid useless battle while the country is going to hell on a hand-basket.

Pardon my french, Dato.

Australian politicians should butt out of Malaysia's affairs just like them not liking it if somebody else from another country butt into their affairs. Australian Politicians should better take care of the Indian Nationals there, so that they do not get stabbed in the middle of Australia's streets by Australian race hate mongrels.

if something is too ridiculous, it must be true? thats too much bovine excrement to me...
sounds a little like how Bush claimed WMD to justify their Iraqi invasion.

the comparison is not right- bush didnt bring his case to the UN. he made a unilateral and rushed up decision. here we are going to the court, suffer a long time, opened to world criticism. why should we do that?
something ridiculous which is impossible to defend and is certain to be defeated... you should phrase that in context- otherwise, as you say, its bovine excrement.!
can Obama do another Bush type war?

In Sodomy II the so-called victim is as unsavoury as how you discribed the accused. Dato, you write in a balanced manner, except when it comes to Anwar. Thats just my opinion. You really dont like this guy, do you?

Greetings Dato dearest,
My oh my,Halim(00.44) might be right here, i assume that u totally hate Anwar ibrahim.Must have surelly pi**ed u off bad.
Anyway,if u have the time and if u certainly do believe in justice, do spend some time reading the court procedings of the first sodomy case some time back.
If u do read and cant find anything unusual, abnormal, or notice comical flip-flops throughout the case, then,u should also believe that pigs can fly.

Dato

In Islam, always despise the transgression and do not the person.

Also, a crime must be proven in a court based on the appropriate law. Being judgemental ahead of a sanctioned judgement of a person and humiliating him in public, if wrong, is committing the transgression of fitnah punishable of the damnation to eternity.

You have already said it ... leave it to the court.

Only here, it's the prosecution of justice, the object and manner are so questionable and which there shouldn't be any ... that's my issue. So finds some other people including in faraway Australia.

its yr assumption. those who oppose Anwar can only be labeled what? Anwar haters, right?

Anwar's guilt or innocence dont depend on my liking or hating him.
sure there were flip flops, only that the flip flops on Anwar's lawyers were more.
Anwar isnt the person he makes himself out to be. very sorry to say that. Ask his friends whom he helped become multi millionaires. he is like the many headed representation of a god- looking here he says something, looking there he says another thing.

After years and years of trials and tribulations including years in jail and all;is it not possible that a man would have seen the light and changed for the better?

Wenger J. Khairy 13 February 2010 at 15:01

Dato'
I'm sorry but I dont want to comment on the issue directly.

All things being equal, and this case should be one of those, of course Aussie MPs should not be commenting on our local judicial process.

But things are not equal.

Every time people are lying to the teeth and the intelligensia of the country dare not, are chicken and cowards and dare not take apart their lies with ease.

Take MV Augusta for an example - the link is here.

Because there is the climate of fear, or climate of apathy, nobody bothers to find out the truth.

I was challenged by someone, so I investigated. The truth is out there, but we must name and shame the liars. If not we will become a regressive society like burma where liars can attack and nobody bothers to bring them to task, even when the facts of the case are clear, clear, clear.

Speaking about being judgmental, look at the way this guy judges thing

excerpt: "Kalau Datuk Seri Anwar pergi ke mana-manapun, orang akan menjemput beliau supaya menjadi imam. Siapa pernah tengok Najib mengimamkan solat?

"Jadi, adakah seorang kaki liwat boleh mengimamkan solat?" kata Mohd Nizar.

It is really unbelievable that PR can have someone with such intelligence to become an MB (or ex MB).
