The real economic time bomb of Malaysia. Part 1. Devil's advocate series 61.

1. I think it was circa 1978 I read 'Time Bombs in Malaysia'.

2. At that time I was a student at MU studying economics..I went on to do a master's degree in economics at the U of Manchester, UK.

3. Time Bombs was written by Lim kit Siang

4. I can't remember his position in the DAP then.

5. His was already a big name in DAP then . Along with names like chen man heng, karpal Singh, patto, lee lam thye, goh hock guan, fan yew teng and a name I seemed to readily recall, lee kaw.

6. But alongside the well-known name came a lot of notoriety

7. He was accused to be a Chinese chauvinist, a PAP puppet, a commie, anti all things Malay.

8. I can assure readers with absolute certainty, none of these are true.

9. How can a person accused of all these things be conferred the honorific title of Tan Sri?

10. His Time Bombs centred on 2 issues, as I interpret them now

11. First, on the unfair appointment of economic benefits and opportunities.

12. implemented by zealots and outright Malay supremacists.

13. That could lead to racial resentment which in turn can lead to political instability.

14. 2nd, the screw ups of the government caused by bad management and simply bad governance by mediocre and low quality talents.

15. That results in misrule , corruption, abuse of power etc.

16. At the height of the pig rearing issue,I chanced to read one comment from a Chinese fellow

17. It was both sobering and jolting.

18. It says the 65-75%(Malays) rule Malaysia. Then he added, the stupid, lazy and lagards rule Malaysia.

19. They then impose their tyrannical brand of rule . Because that is the weapon of choice of the lazy, stupid and the laggard

20. Now don't go slapping or spitting in the face of non malays for saying that to the malays

21. Accept that as a terrible indictment on the Malay. You don't respond by going physical on the non Malay. You calmly vow to debunk that perception .

22. Don't go around saying, hey apek, you are not Malay. Therefore you won't understand his longing to return to UMNO rule

23. That's the arrogance of the UMNO Malay unconsciously surfacing.

24. Hello UMNO idiot, it's a big mistake to think the Malay is 1 homogeneous bloc.

25. There is UMNO Malay, PAS Malay, PKR Malay, AMANAH Malay, DAP Malay and so on.

26. Meaning, if Malaysia were to be ruled entirely by Malays, there will be other Malay grouping opposing it.

27. Which brings me to the real time bomb of Malaysia.

28. Lim kit Siang'sTime Bombs was couched in the language and zeitgeist of the 1970s.

29. As a samdol economist I look at the issue from a different perspective. In terms of national productivity and competitiveness

30. The real time bomb is the regression, retrogression, dissolution of our population structure

31. Let me say it bluntly. National productivity and competitiveness is being brought down by the rule of the 60-65%.

32. It's a rule by economic kakistocracy as it were

33. Malays would have to think soberly about it.
