A Chimpanzee with a lethal weapon.

Whenever Zahid Hamidi speaks or expresses himself, I cringe. Does this man really have a PhD? Here is a man with wide legitimate coercive powers, behaving like a swashbuckler. I get the same recoil when watching how some soldiers in one African country gave an AK47 to their pet chimpanzee- the soldiers laughed at first at the chimpanzee, but soon scrambled to safety, when the ape started firing wildly with live ammunitions. God forbid- I am not comparing Zahid to that Chimp.
When I was in UMNO- my friends and I were in stitches recalling, what Zahid said when asked by a reporter after a supreme council meeting. Dato- how do you feel about Tan Sri Mohd bin Mohd Taib? (I think the occasion was the deliberation to decide on Mat Taib when he had married a Selangor princess then)  He turned on the press corps and said - come on lah- you people, relax lah-give him some humanity. You know, give him some humanity. What we wanted to say in Malay would have been ada sikit perasaan peri kemanusiaan lah.
I also now remember how one colleague related when Zahid wanted to practise speaking English with another friend while working in PUNB or PNB. (Working where I can’t remember) After speaking for a brief time Zahid said- mat, kita cakap melayu lah- penatlah cakap orang putih ini.
It’s perfectly ok, not to be proficient in the language. After all we are NOT English people. But I expect some finesse from a top leader in UMNO.
I have met and known Zahid for quite some time. He served as Najib’s political secretary when the latter was Defence Minister. His functions were primarily focused on cultivating political networks around the country. So that when Najib goes for a post in UMNO, Zahid will mobilise the political network. Otherwise, he played a wide field. He deals anything related to domestic politics which really meant dealing with UMNO divisions, UMNO people.
Although our encounters were limited to superficial exchanges, assessing Zahid from those encounters left me with the impression that Zahid has no scholarly qualities. Zahid’s paltriness did not seem to go away, even after we saw a new Zahid with the Doctor prefixed to his name. The man is still superficial. Either that or the advanced learning has not succeeded in cultivating the scholar in Zahid.
This man is simply incapable of refined analysis. A former high ranking officer who once served with Tun Ismail at the Home Ministry said- a man of Zahid’s calibre would not have qualified even to be a clerk with Tun Ismail. That was now clearly evidenced with Zahid’s shocking response to Umno Youth's threat to burn down the DAP headquarters last Thursday. Zahid, ever the intellectual bumpkin pretending he is clever, said of that is the price DAP must pay for allowing its members to utter derogatory words.
A minister aspiring to the highest office if possible, speaking like a common thug! A man responsible for the security and safety of the whole nation with wide coercive powers, speaking as though the only safety and security he is looking after is UMNO’s and not the nation’s.
Of course people can feel hurt and get offended – but that does not excuse lawless behaviour. And he is a minister who looks after lawful behaviour. If UMNO people felt offended, dont behave like a lynching mob in a frontier town, get Rayer to court. The Home Minister should be going after people who carried out criminal intimidation such as uttering to burn a building.
Now, Najib has a major problem in his hands. How to contain a senior minister who is loose in the head and becomes loose cannon. Zahid has inadvertently revealed how people in high office abused their power.
Zahd’s promise to provide RELA people with new uniforms should BN win Teluk Intan is clearly election bribery. Two, Zahid warned the Rela people to all vote for BN because in the last elections he knows the exact number of Rela people who did not vote for BN. how did he know unless, the Election Commission gave free access to UMNO ministers to check the ballot papers. That can only mean, we don’t have ballot secrecy and that voting is secret means nothing to a government bent on herding the people into the pen or worse- the slaughterhouse.
God forbid, I am not likening Zahid to the chimp in the video, ok.

  1. Dato,Zahid is as usual Zahid. This man is predictable because he talks and acts like a preset robot.Robots do not know how to think and make use of their brains. He is a home minister but he do not know how to delegate his IGP and the police force to maintain peace and order.

While he holds the position of home minister his Umno boys are running wild like hornies chasing after bitches from Penang via Teluk Intan to Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan. When he was defence minister old lembak ragtags from Phillipines invaded Sabah. And he has served under so many PM's and he is still a minister because he is funny.

Then we have DPM Muhyiddin who likes to call himself Malay first,Malaysian second. But like Rafidah said people who called themselves Malay first,Malaysian second are stateless persons.

Why stateless persons.Because if one is overseas and says I am a Malay, people will ask Malay where or Malay what? But if one were to say I am a Malaysian, people will say,oh you are from Malaysia.Rafidah is a very smart lady and I like her a lot because she makes Umno men wet their pants.

Now Muhyiddin says the DAP deserves to be hounded by his Umno thugs bnecause of celaka.Does he knows that if he is in the Western countries and talks like this he will be hounded down like a jack rabbit.

Khairy, although at first he did say he understands the feeling of his boys, maybe a slip of tongue,we have to give him the benefit of doubt as he got balls to appologised to Ong Kian Meng and the DAP.He even offered to pay for the damages.

What our ministers and Umno leaders must understand is that a wrong is a wrong, and two wrongs cannot make a right.Whoever breaks the laws have to face the brunt of the law.No excuses and no two ways.

  2. Dear Datuk Sak

Imagine people like Hishamuddin and Zahid Hamidi are top level UMNO Baru leaders who may succeed the current under-performing 1PM and become future
    Prime Ministers !

This is a very serious indictment of Mahathir's forcing out talented rivals and turning the leadership of UMNO Baru into
a collection of mediocrities and bodoh sombong underserving of any respect from thoughtful, informed and educated Malaysians. No wonder we are on the road to Sub-Saharan style Third World "failed state" status!

  5. Zahid for sure always talk like a hooligan. An ordinary person, even children would know it is wrong to talk in a tit-for-tat manner.

Whatever it is, it is the responsibility of Najib as the PM of the nation to rein in such uncivilized people.

As expected, he has kept silent.

He is either condoning such irresponsible bahaviours or he is mostly likely a very weak person who wants the top job but not the responsibility that comes with it.

Up till now, it seems that he still does not know what the PM job entails. Well, it is not about firstly taking care of his position and his interest but rather taking care of the interest of the Rakyat and the nation.

It pains me so much to comment like this but we have come to a point where a little spark will ignite the whole nation.

And all this is the result of the silence of the head of the nation.

If Zahid can break his daughter's boyfriend's nose and get away with it, why can't other UMNO members do the same and resort to violence? If Zahid behaves like a celaka what is wrong in calling UMNO celaka?

  12. Salam Dato,

"Bring forward" 24 years later now 2014.....

Sedihnya aku. Apa dah jadi dengan tahap kepimpinan negara kita bila orang-orang UMNO Baru masih memegang tampuk pemerintahan.

Saf kepimpinan hampir kesemua pimpinan UMNO BN, apa tutur kata macam orang tak pernah ke sekolah. Minta maaflah.

Lihatlah apa yang mereka buat ketika berlaku krisis seperti MH370?

Apa Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi buat, ketika "ranking" univeriti Malaysia merudum?

Apa Kementerian Pelajaran buat, bila IQ pelajar Malaysia dikalahkan oleh budak Vietnam?

Apa bahasa pak Jib pakai ketika "press conference" dengan Presiden Barack Obama? Bahasa Melayu? Ketika Obama di Korea Selatan, Presiden Korea Selatan guna bahasa Korea, sampai Obama terpaksa guna mik telinga? Apa bahasa bila Obama di Jepun, Perdana Menteri Jepun guna bahasa Jepun?

Apa bahasa Chancelor German guna bila berucap di Kongres Amerika Syarikat? Bahasa Jerman!

Apa bahasa Menteri Luar China ketika sidang media MH370 di Australia? Apa bahasa kekanda Kerismuddin pakai?

Bukan saya menidakkan Bahasa Inggeris, tetap penting. Tapi kalau selalu bising Hidup Melayu sana sini, kenapa malu nak bercakap Bahasa Melayu ketika PM sidang media dengan pimpinan asing?

[Saya percaya semua pimpinan dunia pandai berbahasa Inggeris.

Sedangkan orang asing (Russia, Jerman, USa, Australia, Jepun dll) suka dengan Bahasa Melayu, sebahagian rakyat Malaysia masih terkial-kial berbahasa Melayu, itupun malu-malu kucing.

Apa poin penting yang saya maksudkan ialah bahasa penyatu bangsa. Lihatlah di negara jiran Indonesia, semua bercakap Bahasa Indonesia sehingga kita tidak tahu ada di antara mereka berbangsa Tiong Hua.

Nak belajar bahasa asing silakanlah.

    Kita anak Malaysia.

It is naive to think that there is secrecy in our votes. There is non whatsoever. You only need to follow the procedures for voting on the day and the paperwork and you exactly who came to vote where at what time and for whom.

  20. “…come on lah- you people, relax lah-give him some humanity. You know, give him some humanity…”

“Mako besorlah kemaluan saya,” kato oghae Kelatae.

Dato', his predictability as Bruno has put it, is his saving grace, but this still doesn’t reveal the true persona of a man in politics. Like most of them gathering at the political centre today, predictability only goes as far as revealing that they are all issue-based ‘kaki politik’ unlike the ‘ahli politik’ of old who operated within the ‘kerangka besar’ (Dato’ kita cakap melayu lah, sepatah-dua sekali-sekala - penatlah selalu cakap orang putih ini) — men of honour, men who arrive at the centre of power, not necessarily a beneficiary of tertiary-level education but inspired and enriched by a strong religious upbringing, these men were always driven by honourable ambitions to pursue honourable, non-apish objectives, NEVER moaning and groaning ‘for agama, bangsa dan negara’ at the end of every human breath. Tunku, Jaafar Onn, Tun Razak, Tun Ismail, Hussein Onn, Dr Burhanuddin, Aziz Ishak, Uz Zulkifly, Dato Asri, Dato Mohd Nasir and Boestaman, just to name a few, were men who gave a functioning national life to Parliament.

What do we have today in our Parliament and DUN? Yes, “It’s perfectly ok, not to be proficient in the language. After all we are NOT English people.” But we “expect some finesse from a top leader in UMNO” who will not “excuse lawless behaviour” and “who should be going after people who carried out criminal intimidation such as uttering to burn a building.”

Some time back Walla gave a very useful link to someone’s PhD thesis, and believe me it is scholarly cerebral stuff. I also made a request for access to the PhD thesis by Zahid and Ridhuan Tee. Since I have already used up my budget for books this year good scholar-soldier Dr Zahid could do me an immense favour by sending me a copy of his PhD thesis, gratis, via Sakmongkol AK47. And to make the gesture even more generous to prevail upon Ridhuan Tee to contribute his thesis too, afterall he wrote the foreword to one of the latter’s books. I thank both of them in advance, speaking as a retiree with very limited means. It’s perfectly OK with me if the thesis is written in Malay.

I must add, however, as an honourable Kelantanese, that there is more to mass production of creative works, through copies made by ‘burning’ them on CDs; this electro-physical laser process has a biological equivalent.

In rural Kelantan many have had their brains singed and chilled alternately by the heat and cold produced by malaria. Hovering between nirvana and never never land when the parasites attacked I must have had countless out-of-body experiences, but briefly, all I need say at this juncture as I await the arrival of the two theses is, after the bouts of malaria, lots of things I read, remained cauterized for repeated eternal illumination, the biological ROM.

Neuro-scientists can take it from here, gratis, from someone who spent too much time reading instead of studying about how the brains of apes and men function.

"His thesis title is: "MANIFESTO BARISAN NASIONAL SEBAGAI AGENDA AKHBAR BAHASA MELAYU SEMASA TEMPOH KEMPEN PILIHANRAYA UMUM". The thesis is apparently written in Bahasa Malaysia (The thesis can either be written in BM or English)."

Ong quoted from the Ministry of Information website:

"The study was undertaken to identify the usage of BN manifesto as an agenda for the Malay language newspapers namely Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian during the general elections in 1982, 1986, 1990, 1995 dan 1999.
Commenting on his thesis, Dr Zahid said that based on the research the manifesto, which is regarded as a promise by BN, was the basis for the success and support obtained by the party during the general elections.
If the manifesto announced provided something good for the rakyat, the effect would be seen from the number of popular votes and increase in the number of seats won by BN, he said."

I was simply curious how could an "intellectual bumpkin" a Phd scholar.
Phd desertation is nothing more than a reproduction and classified of newpaper cuttings. It confirms my worse fears indeed professor Kangkung breeds kangkung at the post graduate school at our tertiary education. That explains the thousands of questionable Phd holders are littering the country.
