I have written several essays about Perkasa. I wish to assure my blog readers, those essays were not about Ibrahim Ali. I don't know him personally, know of him and seen him from afar. That's about it. What I have written were about what Perkasa represents.
Ibrahim Ali is an inconsequential footnote to our political denouement. That is my personal opinion. Readers may disagree. He is politically finished in Kelantan. He became MP because of some twisted logic of arrangement with PAS which I don't understand. It is now not open for PAS to condemn Ibrahim Ali. You consciously allowed him to contest on your ticket. You should have finished him off the last time.
He has reinvented himself as a champion of Malay rights. This places him at odds with UMNO which is the true voice of the Malay lumpen-proletariat. Elements within UMNO support Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa because he and Perkasa now becomes their voice?
Who are these ailments elements?
They are our own super 30. Those who demand a 30% stake in anything- in business, in positions and whatever. They are the puteras' in the bumi. Ibrahim Ali represents those UMNO contractors who got a contract to build bridges who resold the contracts to their cukongs. Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa represent the puteras who got land from Mat Taib in Selangor. Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa represent those puteras who fly first and business class who gulped copious amounts of wine and who make naughty and obscene remarks to and about stewardesses and sometime to stewards.
Who needs Perkasa? Maybe people like Puad Zarkashi. Then please leave UMNO and join Perkasa. Ibrahim Ali has got a talent forming political parties- persuade him to form one and see how many Malays join him. The reason why its alleged that 70% of Malays identify themselves with Perkasa is due to UMNO's own stupidity. It hasn't spoken about Malay economics, hopes and fears. PM Najib can chuck some of the UMNO ministers out at the coming cabinet reshuffle.
Malay interests are already taken care as per our constitution. Perkasa can't replace UMNO as the substantive voice of the average Malay. UMNO may veer away from their original struggles on which it launched itself in 1946. But UMNO also has its own self healing and self censoring mechanisms.
Do the provisions about Malay interests in the constitution factor heavily in the daily living of the average Malay? They don't- but their existence provides a sense of emotional safeguard and safety net. It's enough they exist and may not even be called up. Because the average Malay knows, what elevate and propel them forward are not guarantees or noises made by people from Perkasa, but their own willingness to work and compete.
"The reason 70% of Malays identify with Perkasa is due to UMNO's stupidity. It hasn't spoken about Malay economics, hopes and fears." - Dato Sak.
ReplyDeletePrecisely. I am a regular Malay with a basic education enough to cari makan. I don't know what's in store for me with the NEM. But I am not unduly worried. I trust Umno will take care of the Malays. Our safety net.
But do other Malays especially in the kampungs think like me? Here comes Ibrahim telling me hey, your rights are eroded with the NEM? So you fear the unknown.
My Umno leaders are silent. So I trust Ibrahim to champion my rights.
As I said repeatedly, in my previous comments, Ibrahim is the Sir Galahad, the knight in shining armor. He's the folk hero to the supposed oppressed.
If you have spoken to him, you will know he's rather empty in the head. But as I said from the outset, he has his usefulness.
Never mind him. He needs his own fiefdom, his limelight. His mind is set on 2012. By then, he will rejoin Umno and hope Kelantan will give him a shanty-town to contest.
Study Ibrahim's journey in politics. He's more of the street politician like that of his one-time idol Anwar Ibrahim. Only he lacks the political finesse.
Ibrahim is really a beningn man. He is 100 percent posturing.
What you said about travelling first class, high on wine and teasing the stewardesses, are the behavior of UMNO people too. Also PKR leaders who are Umno rejects.
So don't lose sleep over Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa. YOU are giving him the power which he does not have.
P.S. Its nice to know that some Malays are against Perkasa. But you don't hear Chinese against the ultra companion of Ibrahim - the Dong Zhong.
Sdra Sak, I am awaiting your masterpiece on the revered Tok Guru.
ReplyDeleteI noticed he's gong senile by the day.
I used to respect him but now no more.
Yang haram dah jadi halal nampaknya.
Cerita Tok Hem ni boringla.
Dato,
ReplyDeleteUMNO people are not scared of Ibrahim Ali. He is just trying his best to remain afloat and relevant politically. To me his political self life has expired.
But why are many UMNO people keeping quiet? Actually, they are all scared of Ibrahim Ali's attack dog. That mamak kutty can create havoc to UMNO if Perkasa is openly chastise by UMNO. The mamak really treats UMNO as his own house. He leave and returns as and when he likes and nobody in UMNO dares to publicly open their mouth against him except the cowboy Nazri.
Betui la....cerita pasai Brahim ni boring la. U ni macam ada personal vendetta against him. Relaks la brader.
ReplyDeleteCerite lah pasal org lain pulak. Nik Ajis ke, Anwar ke, ataupun jejaka idaman kalbu u KJamban ke?
Boring
boring
ReplyDeleteyou ini kayu ke. saya dah cakap ini bukan pasal ibrahim ali. awak tak reti basa ke. ok.. saya akan tulis pasal mukriz dungu anak mamak tu. lagi best.
But you don't hear Chinese against the ultra companion of Ibrahim - the Dong Zhong.
ReplyDeleteCan Quiet Despair tell us Chinese what exactly this group of Dong Jiao Zhong (DJZ) ultras are supposed to represent?
They are only interested in protecting the Chinese culture that is also rooted in the Chinese language. Their emphases is therefore education in the Chinese language. And I guess they'll protect their Constitutional rights with their lives.
If you say that is wrong, then I say it is a "given" in the Constitution. Err, if you like, its also a "social contract" when the races came together for Merdeka.
Don't feel too good, huh, when others throw the "social contract" thing at your face, right?
If the government is serious about eradicating the alternate schooling, there is a simple solution. Make your product (the school system) something that people (= parents) want to buy.
Right now, the national school system is crap.
How's that for a blue ocean strategy?
Sak
ReplyDeleteIt's your blog and you can determine what you want to write. Afterall, you are the blog owner.
I did not see the need for you to be as low as those who commented/condemned your posting.
However, when you say you never meet Ibrahim Ali...betul ke ni? He was in UMNO once and you are still in UMNO. You mean your paths never crossed during the days when Ibrahim Ali was UMNO's supreme member? If that is true, mesti UMNO nie terlalu besar hingga tak terjumpa ahli2nya...wallahualam :)
Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...
generally it appears to me that perkasa represent those who think umno is not malaycentric enough. macam far right lah konon. i think is is best that umno remain moderate and on the middle path. stay away from perkasa.
ReplyDeletenightcaller,
ReplyDeletetrue- never met him although we were both in UMNO. for many years when i was a delegate to the assembly, Ibrahim Ali was only an observer failing to get in as delegate.
maybe you get to see him if you enjoy the nightly dangdut sessions around PWTC.
Why are you so much against Mukhriz? Having some very bad experience with him or his father or any members of his family? Or because he was made a Deputy Minister whilst your favourite remain just a Ketua Pemuda?
ReplyDeleteJangan mudah mengata orang dungu tanpa mencermin diri sendiri terlebih dahulu. In certain aspects you may be worse than him. Many can also question you why you are just a one-term ADUN despite having projected yourself as a prolific blogger and being right under the nose of DSNTR in Pekan.Anyway, I am looking forward to your expose and will respond accordingly.
Of late I observe that you simply cannot take criticisms against your piece. You easily become emotional(you said so) and start using the four- letter word which you never did before, and which your wife despises. You also got into the habit of questioning your commentators' academic qualifications.
What have got into you? Waking up on the wrong side of the bed?Atau ada sesuatu yang menusuk fikiran dan perasaan?
non partisan,
ReplyDeletei only retort if the question posed invites retort of the same nature. dont you people know of manners? you remind me of a cow thief- when caught, scolds his captor.
i am asking you the same question- why are you so against KJ? he has better brains than Mukhriz thats for sure?
whats wrong with being an ADUN for one term? thats better than being none at all.
dont wait- write what you want in yr own blog. then you can write whatever stuff and on whoever you want. see the responses you get
non partisan,
ReplyDeletei think the blogger said Mukriz serves no useful purpose.
it is you who insinuated he is a dungu... you his MRSM buddy or what?
true or not? he is a dungu? got 3rd grade for his SPM?
...represent those puteras who fly first and business class who gulped copious amounts of wine and who make naughty and obscene remarks to and about stewardesses and sometime to stewards.
ReplyDeleteIntereting, so what is said about JJ is true ?
Of course there's nothing wrong being a one-term ADUN. In fact it is an honour to have served the rakyat even for one term knowingly fully well he has served them well, with the highest degree of honesty and intergrity and without self- interest.
ReplyDeleteBUT what perplexed is why you were not nominated again to stand in the 2008 gen.elections. Judging from the substance in your blogs you are definitely a man of quality who can easily outclass most of the ADUN and MP in Pahang. Mungkin bukan rezeki.
To anon 14:50 - paper qualifications alone do not guarantee the success of an individual. Another significant element is ATTITUDE ,whether it is positive or negative. You may be a first class honours graduate but you may not be more marketable than than those with second class honours. Research done in USA has proven this. Jadi janganlah anda berkokok sehingga riuh seluruh kampung hanya kerana mempunyai kelulusan akademik yang tinggi.
I'm not the one who insinuated Mukhriz is a dungu. Refer to Sak's response to boring.
Like you, I'm most enthusiastic about KJ. He's got brains, he's got energy, speaks well. Most importantly, I think he knows why he is in Umno. What's more (and I can say this because I've observed him in action) young people can relate to him.
ReplyDeleteYes one day I'd like to see this young man take his place among the leadership.
Out in blogsphere, there are many haters. I do wish too, though, that you would not stoop to their level. Like calling Mukriz dungu. Ok, maybe he not so brainy. A plodder, I think is more polite.
I forgot to mention Ibrahim Ali was once a deputy minister.
ReplyDeleteRobert Cranium
To me Braim and DZ no diff. One and the same.
We Malays have no problem if you throw the social contract in our face. Its you guys who have that problem. We are so secure that we can condemn Perkasa. You too are happy that we are not backing Perkasa.
You dont like us to be racist, but you can be racist. Mana adil ini?
Oh I forgot that Indians too were strongly for Hindraf and later Makkal Sakti. Only Samy Vellu is scared.
Ibrahim Ali is joining the crowded field of racists.
non partisan,
ReplyDeleteok i took a look at my response to boring's comments. like you said, it was a response done in like manner for accusing me to be a KJ boy( by the way- the term used was KJamban) and hear this Anwar Ibrahim's supporter?
dear Quiet Despair,
ReplyDeletei use to think dongzhong as a parallel to perkasa so i did some research.
if u have time take a good read on dongzhong's suqiu, the thing that made many malays brand them as racist.
its at this website:

have a good day,
kuda
Quiet Despair
ReplyDeleteJust like you I am a regular Chinese guy and a Malaysian. Who is Dong Zhong I don't know, because I don't think I nor the Chinese, basically the Malaysian system needs them. If I have my way, I would abolish vernacular schools and replace them with just a national school system that is non religious and non racial.
