The Excuse given as to why the unidentified plane was not intercepted

From Parliament House.

The Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) did not probe an unidentified aircraft signal which appeared on the military radar in the wee hours of March 8 because it ‘assumed’ that the flight was ordered to turn back by the civilian air traffic control.
In revealing this today, Deputy Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Bakri said the air force decided to ignore the radar signal because the aircraft was categorised as non-hostile in nature.
“We thought the aircraft was non-hostile, we assumed it was a directive of the control tower that had directed the plane to turn back,” he told the Dewan Rakyat today.

I was waiting for this answer as to why our TUDM did not respond to the intrusion of an unidentified plane. The answer is TUDM assumed a number of things; chief being the plane must have been ordered to do so by Subang. Then it concluded that this plane, although unidentified is not hostile. Not a very good answer which shows the standard of the deputy defence minister.
That answer pales for example from the one given by a commentator in my blog.
The answer given by the commentator ran as follows:-
"Most military radar isn't concerned with commercial air traffic on standard routes flying at 30,000+ feet. The skies are full of jetliners. Most just appear as a contact on a tracking scope, watched briefly as they trundle along in a straight line across the sky, and are then ignored. Military people are concerned with threats. Threats typically move in a ballistic trajectory, or a flat fast powered arc, or much closer to the surface. Military radar records might be helpful in figuring out what happened, but unless Flight 370 was behaving like a threat while passing through somebody’s radar envelope, it’s unlikely that anybody would notice or bother to identify it.
The answer given by the deputy defence minister is exactly the answer relished by potential enemies. What if our enemies use lethal flying objects camouflaged as civilian carriers displaying the characteristics so described by the commentator?  So because the unidentified object appear as a contact on a tracking scope, they are watched briefly as they trundle along in a straight line across the sky, and are then ignored.
We ignore at our peril then. Our enemies can easily out-think this sort of complacent and cavalier attitude on the part of military people. Let’s pray they don’t operate on these lines even though our confidence is shattered as a result of the conduct in the MH370 case.

  1. Dato, if a bunch of "sarong-clad starving old men" but armed to the teeth was able to do what they did in Sabah not too long ago, this thing here would be way beyond the depth of our defence leaders.

I also wondering whether they sent our pristined Scorpene subs to the Indian Ocean to help with the SAR.

  2. All it would have taken was one phone call from the radar station to the control tower to confirm the said 'assumption'. The answer would have been negative that the control tower had asked the plane to turn around which in turn would have scrambled fighters to sight, buzz and escort the plane to the nearest airfield.

We are finished as a nation. Losing two jet engines wasn't enough. We had to lose an entire plane full of innocent people.

See my prior article and YOUTUBE VIDEO for more info, where Mike Harris and I discuss Freescale Semiconductor and focus on why it cannot be simply a "coincidence" that 20 of their employees were aboard when the company is ALL ABOUT STEALTH TECH. Please... there are no coincidences only synchronicities that point in a direction. Lots of smoke around this disappeared plane.

  6. yes the stealth tech engineers, scientists on board the plane, surprisingly, no mention of them by the gomen.

the hugely negative perceptions toward the gomen, the nation and Malaysians will inevitably be stretching over the years.

  8. I once taught a group of cadet soldiers at ROTU (Reserve Officers Training Unit) at a local university how to dismantle an M-16 Armalite and how to put it back together in less than 5 minutes.... I demonstrated it three times myself and that should be good enough because I did it step-by-step with slow explanations since these are undergraduates whom I assumed then to be smart...

In the end I had to put back every M-16 rifle myself because none of the 120 trainee officers could put the gun back together again...

Ever since that day, I have never assumed anything when it comes to intelligence level of our uniformed units, Dato...

  10. Dato Sak,
The Deputy Defence Minister is an ass because he assumed too much!
Assume is one of those words that I like to use in a situation like this on a donkey of a defence minister like ours! Break the word "assume" up and you get "ass+u+me".

  13. The generals are trying to pull wools over our eyes by giving std 6 rational. Any wonder why the government is providing a low level of kampong national education to children?
Only if Malaysians are a flock of sheep can this government commit all kinds of mistakes, wrong-doings, criminal acts and sin against its people, and yet win the elections, and repeat their evil deeds over and over again.

  15. Dato Sak, it is mind boggling that with the so called high tech and state of the art survieillance technology they still cannot monitor the movement of the aircraft. They claim that these satellites can get images as small as cigarette butts miles from above, we are wondering why such a big Boing 777 cannot be traced. Therefore , we can make several assumptions with regards to the tragedy. It is pretty obvious that some invisible hands is having a good time. The suckers in this affair are the public and the victims. In short ini adalah kerja Dajjal dimana kita telah lihat ramai anak2 Dajjal sedang berkeliaran di bumi kita ini. Salam

  16. Sak,
Don't you think the RMAF personnel be sack or the chief be sack for this blunder. Shouldn't they check with the air controller whether or not this plane was told to divert?

What sort of excuse are they giving to save their ass.
Not responsible at all. Always putting the blame on someone or something else to save their neck.

Who is the defence chief and PM when we lost MH370 and its' total crew and passengers?

  25. Dato Sak,
You tell a lie and you need to tell more lies in order to cover the original lie. Why focus on the RMAF neglected to intercept the UFO but not that they were ordered not intercept? I can accept our tak aper attitude if MH370 was ignored by 1 radar station but 3 radar stations repeated the same mistake just can't add up to the equation. If you follow the theory that they were ordered not intercept, this can answer many questions as below.
    1. Why the RMAF general spilled out the plane might turn back to Strait of Melaka but retracted his statement the next day? Is he so foolish to give blank statement without any supporting data?
    2. Why the Deputy Defense Minister makes so many U-turn about the U-turn?
    3. Why the delay in reporting MH370 lost?
    4. Why when every countries doing SAR at South China Seas, our SOP is to search the Strait of Melaka as well? They knew something the whole world don't?
