The PM told the people not to change horses at midstream. So we asked- we don’t change even if the horse is limping and is running on 3 legs? In endurance races, riders change horses in order to arrive at the destination. Malaysians should be pragmatic when it comes to deciding their future.
Midstream for BN and UMNO is already over 50 years. Since 1955 when the first elections took place until now, from Perikatan to BN, we have had more than 50 years of BN rule. What do we have? We have development for sure- but are also damaged by rampant corruption, utter disregard for the rule of law, abuses of all kinds, political manipulations, deception and lies and gross mismanagement of the economy. To all that, the PM says, we don’t change? If we don’t, we shall have another 50 years of unchecked corruption, emasculation of the judiciary, thugs running the legal institutions, abuses and gross mismanagement.
At another place in his speech, the PM says, we don’t know whether the opposition knows what to do if they come into power. We don’t know whether under Pakatan we can achieve a developed status by 2020with the fabled per capita income of USD15,000.
Of course Pakatan knows what to do. In the short years they came into power; direct investments have been highest in Pakatan led states of Penang, Selangor and Kedah. These states have achieved balanced budgets without doing arithmetic tricks. In Penang which is led by non-Muslim, grants to Islamic religious institutions have reached RM 30 million a year. Compare that to Negeri Sembilan, which is led by a good Muslim, the grant is only RM 12 million a year. How is that possible? Because the state coffers have been managed better in one state that in the other state which is managed by BN and UMNO.
So in answer to the PM’s pained exhortations, change horses if and when necessary. It’s now most necessary to change the tired horse. Retire him. But as a good animal lover, we won’t put it to sleep but maybe employ it as a riding horse for children.
The other piece of news that struck me as odd was the statement from khazanah that it didn’t make profit from its sale of Proton shares to DRB hicom. If no profits were made, why sell the shares? You mean, a simple bottom line judgment call require a phalanx of Oldbridge Oxbridge analysts to justify in order to sell at a profit? Secondly, Khazanah’s statement can be construed as an admission that it was given a fait-acompli- take this price and don’t ask any questions. In Malaysia, only one person can do that- the man who can walk on water.
I hope I can throw more light into the sale of proton shares to DRB Hicom. Were there any other bids besides DRB Hicom presented to Khazanah? Is Khazanah brave enough to publish the identity of all bidders? If it has the courage to do so, we shall not be surprised if the bidders were only Tengku Mahalil- Arumugam group, DRB Hicom, Nazmi and Co. if that is the case, whoever gets the shares have only one master. The man who can walk on water.
Dato',
ReplyDeleteAfter more than 50 years it is time to change horses. After all the horses are old and tired. Otherwise we will be saddled by the same old tired horses for who knows how much longer. The worst part is that the horses are straying us to where who knows where.
Before the country goes bankrupt, somebody else should take over to mend the economy before it is too late. The way we are spending our money, bankruptcy can hit Malaysia very very soon. By then only God can save Malaysia.
Pak Tua
Wow, I know whom you mean. That man who can walk on water is in his middle eighties... He is from Alor Setar...
ReplyDeleteLove reading your comments and opinions. As usual, not only easy to read and digest but also always logical and demonstration of justice. Great work, please keep it up.
ReplyDeleteDato, this time around the horses will be changing, whether it is midstream or upstream,it doesn't matter. As long as it is changed. After fifty five years, the old horses are to tired to toiled the lands.
ReplyDeleteWith rampant corruption, how can the country reached developed nation status. We will be lucky if it doesn't go bankrupt by 2020.And look what has happened to the stepchild of the GOM,the Employee's Provident Fund(EPF).
The EPF,one of the largest investor,if not the largest in the KLSE,has now become the largest speculator of the KLSE.It has been used by the GOM to prop up the prices of the counters of its GLC's,which make up the bulk of the KLSE index.
The EPF once flushed with cash from the contributions of workers, has become the biggest lender to the GOM and it's GLC's.And two individuals(cronies) have also been granted loans amounting to hundreds of millions without collateral.
The EPF has owned some prime rental properties in some parts of tony London.Last year the values of these properties was reported to have dropped somewhere near half a billion.Just recently it has added more prime properties to its stables, borrowing some two billion pounds from banks. The EPF has become a net lender to a borrower.
Do we need to change horses midstream, upstream or in the middle of the ocean.Do your own homework and figure it out.
Dato', whois this Arumugam Group? Could you share some light over with us, your humble reader...
ReplyDeleteA lot of the current problems/issues/economic stagnancy faced by Malaysia are caused by rampant corruption and abuse of power.
ReplyDeleteAs the current ruling coalition (read Umno) is corrupted to the core (hey even the founder of Umno Baru, Mahathir said so ); Pakatan Rakyat when in power will be a government of integrity and honesty compare to the current on (based on the current PR's state governments performance) , half of the problems /issues will be resolved by itself.
please - malaysians dont ever change horses in mid stream but remember to change COWS. our nation is going through a big trial in financial management- too many scandals from bmf to perwaja to cow gate n PKFZ- billions are lost?? who are involved?? so please change the cow leaders ruling this nation??
ReplyDeletean old horse makes good glue.
ReplyDeleteDear Sakmongkol
ReplyDelete“So we asked - we don’t change even if the horse is limping and is running on 3 legs?”
A very reasonable, and indeed pertinent, question to ask. We should have asked a long time ago.
What might have been the horse’s answer if it could speak? Why change, you might find no other horse. But we have. There is one waiting, and hopefully will run with vigour, and take us to our destination.
But Umno/BN has always tried to frighten us into not abandoning them, and they have succeeded for a long time. We have to be courageous like the Egyptians, the Tunisians and the Libyans. Let’s not be afraid that some short-term chaos might ensue. Look at Penang, Kedah and Selangor. It was business as usual after the unprecedented changes in state governments, and it has all been for the better.
Yesterday, Chua Soi Lek told the Chinese that they have done well under the BN government. You cannot understand the stupidity of MCA leaders. If he cares to look around he would have seen how far Singaporeans, Taiwanese and Koreans who in the 1960s were on par or were poorer than us have left us far behind. You must benchmark properly if you want to know if you are doing well or not. Gazing towards Bangladesh won’t help.
For the Malays, have they got better? Yes. But the proper question to ask is, could they have been much better? That to me is again yes. There are Malay success stories, but these are few and far between. Those few who have succeeded, with the help of scholarships for example, feel so grateful to UMNO that they forgot to look around to see how the vast majority of their less fortunate brethrens are doing.
We will eventually crawl to developed nation status with USD 15000 per capita income. But by then Indonesia might have been there 10 years already. No, this horse won’t do, lame or not lame. We need a fresh horse that can really run.
With that kind of mind-set Najib is unfit to be our PM. He has totally outlived shelf-life and is politically irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteWe have development for sure... And this is precisely what UMNO BN also shouts about.
ReplyDeleteBut isn't this expected of the Government? Development is But a natural progression for any nation. What more when Malaysia is such a resource rich nation.
But the question that the people wants to know from UMNO BN is whether development would be more comprehensive & beneficial to all Malaysians if not for the misdeeds, corruption & abuse of power by UMNO BN
Thank god you are not the leader of this country. You will sell this country for a song. And your mother too. A disgrace to your race, you are. You really love the squinted eyed people. But then, one cannot expect anything from a dejected one term assemblyman who did not contribute anything while in office.
ReplyDeleteDear Sak,The judgement of the people is that 'horses needs to be changed when they are no more capable in crossing a shallow stream; it does not matter whether the horses are being ridden upstream or even downstream'. More so if the horses are already crippled and the practice is to 'put them to sleep'. So, I hope the PM and UMNO/BN leaders understand the peoples' aspiration for a good and non-corrupt Government. No Govt in the world can forever rule, no matter how good or bad they can be. I think having had their share of Governance for 55 years, I think its time to retire the tired horses before they get drown in mid-stream.
ReplyDeleteNajib says that only BN can govern this country and deliver. Deliver what?
ReplyDeleteTake a simple case of taxi meters. All taxis are installed with meters. Yet taxi drivers have defiantly refused to use them till this day and the government is helpless.
Check with IRD how many companies collect 6% government tax and have refused to turn them in the collections to the government.
It is a damned shame we have such a government. Out with them I say!
Najib is scolding UMNO for ditching Pak Lah. Can't really blame him for talking from experience.

ReplyDeleteHi Dato' Arif
ReplyDeleteYou really can't flog a old horse, Dato'. Its days are over. I agree totally with you that you either retire it or let it be a fun ride for kids.
The sale of Proton to DRB-HICOM is another attempt to create monopolistic business, and we see the shadows of Dr M looming large.
Better still. When the horse is limpping tie it where you boss wants you to tie it even if you know that it will be dead the next day.
ReplyDeleteSdr. Sakmongkol,
ReplyDeleteHow is the real sentiments on the ground?
If I go by the media, all is pretty...
If I analyse the PM's speeches or tweets, I sense there all is well...
So what is exactly happening..?
I have no problem with Pakatan Rakyat taking over Putrajaya, at least with PAS or DAP. I only have reservation about PKR or specifically, Anwar Ibrahim and his inner circle.
If I have my way, it would be 55% Pakatan and 45% BN for Parliament.
If BN were to win, my wish would be 51%-52% BN and 48%-49% Pakatan.
As for the states, I think Pakatan should be able to add Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Perak to their current portfolio.
Sekian.

Dear Sakmongkol
ReplyDelete“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.” – General Douglas MacArther in his farewell speech to the US Congress, 1951.
I generally dislike writing two posts to one article. But you had touched on two quite important but quite different subjects, both of which are critically important. I have written earlier about why we need to change horses. Now I wish to say something about what the man “who can walk on water” is helping to bring about: the sale of Proton to DRB-Hicom.
General MacArther must surely rank as the greatest soldier that ever served in the US Army. He was the only one ever to be accorded 5 stars, but later demoted to 4, because of insubordination over the conduct of the Korean War. However, when he retired, the US Congress gave him the singular honour to address them. And there he uttered those immortal words, to signal his retirement.
How I wish our own political old soldier from Alor Setar would emulate MacArther and fade away, and thereby endearing him to the eternal memory of Malaysians. But, no, he gets into the gutter to fight unworthy battles like he were some upstart politicians. What a pity!
Proton was one of his many ill-judged projects. Back in 1984 I had opposed it, and had told someone who walked the corridors of power to tell Dr M to drop it because it could not be justified economically. This friend agreed, but he said once the boss had made up his mind, no one could change it. The die was cast.
For 27 long years Malaysians paid for expensive non-Proton cars because of the import duty and excise duty that were imposed to protect Proton. Such a measure could arguably be defended on the ground that a short period was needed to allow an infant business build sufficient volume and compete on lower cost. What happened didn’t go according to script. Proton volumes decline in number and was overtaken by Perodua. Its built quality was the lowest in the market. Windows literally fell off; I know because we once had the misfortune to own one. I once asked a taxi driver why he did not wind down the window (he opened the door instead) when paying at the toll. He said if he did that there was a risk that the window won’t go back up. You might know that in the mid-1980s, Hyundia was no bigger than Proton. So while Proton struggled to keep its market share at home (let’s not talk about the laughable export drive), Hyundai and other Korean cars have raced ahead and now can match Japanese quality standards.
Khazanah is quite right in trying to rid itself of a very lame horse in its stable. But we must ask some questions. Has it been transparent in the bidding process? Did it attempt to get the highest price? If it thought DRB-Hicom could do a better job with this asset, why did it not in all years that it held this asset employ managers and business strategies that would have made Proton profitable and so justify the public sacrifice that supported its existence? The government had claimed that Proton was a ”national” asset and implied that even if it lost money and we had to pay high taxes and duties to support it, it was our duty to do so. And the government owned it (substantially) on our behalf. (Let’s pretend here). So now that some private investors will own it, will the high duties and excise duties continue to apply? Will we be able to buy cheaper and better non-Proton cars because there can be no further justification to protect a private company? In other words, is this just a transfer of a public asset into private hands and we the public are no better off?
Someone here said that we'll eventually get to USD15,000 per capita.
ReplyDeleteYes, by that time, the developed status threshold will be USD25,000!
"The other piece of news that struck me as odd was the statement from khazanah that it didn’t make profit from its sale of Proton shares to DRB hicom.."
ReplyDeleteI clearly read Khazanah's boss saying they made some profit, by which he meant profits were not maximised since Maha Firaun arm-twisted them to divest to DRB. If they had called for open tender and not discriminated against foreign investors, they would have made a killing (later as well), especially they would not have had to sell their entire bloc.
But, if Khazanag bouth the shares at $8 and sold it at $5, where is the profit.
One can only assume Khazanah was able to average its holding cost downars by subscribing to rights issues, bonus shares and buying in when Proton shares dived to way below 5.
It's up to Khazanah to be transparent to the Taxpayer.

As usual,Pak Jeep just blurted out without facts like an overflowed rubbish bin.He is PM, not on merit but Pak Sleepy weak leadership. His late father too pushes the late T.A.R cuz of his 'biaq pi,taq apa attitude'.And the trinity of Razak>Hussein>Mahathir was formed. These 3 families are trying to emulate the same cycle of Najib>Hisham>Mukhriz. The corridor of power in M'sia only evolves among these 3 families. The other PMs are just fill in as jingle. We,as voters should stop these nonsense in the coming GE before they become too strong to be defeated.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Khazanah, the man who can walk on water made them an offer they can't refused, Mafia-style.Who gave the green light? Not surprise at all if it involves the 3nity Of Power.Or maybe, they are just anticipating losing in the next GE,thus dividing the cake among them-self now before its too late.
Anyway, whatever will be happening in the next GE,we must keep on fighting for justice for our generations. And don't forget to fully-load your AK47 during the next GE. Ha..ha
Have a nice holiday Dato' and may Allah bless you+family.
Sir,
ReplyDeleteThe cunning old horse will be with us for a long time to come because all the personal files of his "friends" would probably be passed on to his son. All he has to say is Port Dikson is lovely and pink lips will tremble.
The only way to break this stranglehold is ABU.
"RM8.00 (per share) is not our cost. Our cost is significantly lower,” Khazanah managing director Azman Mokhtar told reporters.
ReplyDelete“We will book a gain from this one, a modest one. So we feel the divestment price was fair,” he said, noting that the holding cost was “somewhat lower” than RM5.50 per share." Azman Mokhtar, Malaysian Insider.

we are all of 1 Race, the Human Race
All fine, but "Developed Country" does not go by GDP per capita or anything like that. Brunei isn't. Singapore is.
ReplyDeleteTravel a developed country and you'll know you are traveling one. Without drains filled with garbage (yes, population education and behaviour); with clean trains circulating on time and concerns about the environment beyond cheap talk.
In the end Malaysia will make it and reach its target of 2020. If need be simply through fireworks on Merdeka Square and a declaration by the Minister of Finance on January 1st, 2020.
Like me declaring myself the most attractive man of this continent at midnight tonight. And you may rest assured, that's what I'll be tomorrow.
Wow! Malaysia has a man who can walk on water!!!
ReplyDeleteUMNO, a horse and a good horse at that? Well, that claim is totally laughable and ludicrous at the same time. Looking at how the country is managed and abused for decades, UMNO is neither a horse nor even a donkey. UMNO can only be best described as a fox running loose in a hen house.
ReplyDeleteIt's no longer about changing a beast of burden that would best able to carry this nation through the new millennium but rather the need of Malaysian to catch a predatory animal that has long been preying and destroying the livelihood and the future of this nation. By claiming UMNO to be a horse, najib is again trying to sidestep the real issue that's plaguing this nation which is corruption and a rampant one at that! Still trying to convince Malaysian that UMNO has brought development and progress to Malaysia, Najib still doesn't get the plot. It's the corruption, Stupid! When corruption is rampant, any progress and development comes at a price that's way beyond the means of this nation and its people. It will ultimately leads to bankruptcy and the destitution of the people. Najib doesn't understand this and how could he when he is part and parcel of the problem.
And for those who still believe that UMNO can still reform and would be able in the future, work for the benefit of this country are clearly delusional. How can UMNO be good for the country when it's DNA is clearly 99% corruption and 1% reform. Any way we rehash or trying to change it, it's corruption DNA would always take over and overwhelm the reform gene of it. You can't change a creature by applying cosmetic and a change of wardrobe. It just doesn't work, not when it's corruption DNA is nearly the whole make up of the creature. The present business deals involving FELDA and Proton confirms it. UMNO is no longer the solution but more of a fact, the exact problem that plague this nation (and the man who walks on water who created UMNO B is an even bigger problem than UMNO B). So lets stop dreaming about UMNO changing its DNA and start eliminating the problem that plague this nation. The solution is right in front of us!
Nick.
Najib and Dr Mahathir do not appear to see eye to eye on almost everything and are tolerating each other only out of political necessity.
ReplyDeleteFraming Anwar’s case as the backdrop, I would predict the infighting within UMNO reaching a critical stage like two tag teams in a boxing match facing each other in the blue and red corners.
Blue corner: Najib and reformists. Tactic: Give clear signal for the case to go through the natural course of justice and be decided dispassionately one way or the other based on merits of clear evidence. Preference is to let Anwar win again this time and show Malaysians that the earlier “not guilty” verdict was not politically fixed and that the reformation of justice system and other state institutions has truly started. Objective: To win the middle ground, weaken the hands of the warlords considerably, and face the PR in the GE openly and win it with the crucial support of a good majority of middle ground electorate.
Red corner: DPM Muhyiddin, Dr M & Co. Tactic: Give clear signal to find Anwar guilty. Objectives: 1 Remove him from the political scene and weaken the PR leadership with further underhand operations against its component parties and their key leaders before the GE. 2. Weaken the hands of Najib (and if necessary depose him) and stack the list of UMNO candidates for the GE with supporters from this camp.
Both sides will be sounding out the referee – the Chief Justice. The result will depend on which side he will be leaning to or favour.
going private and yet having the benefit of maintaining national car status is nothing but a scam that only that assimilated malay can perpetrate..by instructing his deputy(not ah jib goh's btw) to expeditiously proclaim maintaining national car status is a given and worth more than the amount they pay for proton...the eventual bailout will be another costly pride saving exercise for the rakyat reminiscent of mas...
ReplyDeleteDato', what irks me is this. I am a Chinese by ancestry and because of what I am, I am not entitled to privileges like my Malay brothers. It is okay with me. I have learned to live with it and got on with my life. During the years after the introduction of the NEP, I struggled to make ends meet by doing four jobs. I have a full time job with a company and during the week ends I would lecture at some colleges during the afternoons and in the evenings, I would rush off to perform (as a musician) at some corporate dinners. During the weekdays, in the evenings, after office hours, I would ply my trade as an encyclopedia salesman. I do not regret for almost 'killing' myself having to undergo such stressful pursuits, as on the positive side, I turned out to be a better person accepting these as part of life's challenges. From this hard earned money, I duly pay my tax like any good citizen would but what do I read these days? The government is squandering our money away buying useless junks and embarking on projects that continue to burden the rakyat. To compound the problem, we have govt officials now on the take, not RM200 or RM2000 but in the millions. I feel really sick inside while many of us a struggling to make ends meet, here we have these fellas unshamedly abusing our trust. I feel enough is enough. The BN has to go and the sooner the better before people start taking their own lives as they would not be able to cope with the financial burden any longer.
ReplyDeleteare we riding a horse all these years...? i feel like i am riding a cow.... an old lazy cow for that matter? common.. i need a horse... a real horse... damn
ReplyDeleteDato,
ReplyDeleteThe man who walk on water has brought shame and indignity to its people and country by squandering its wealth for himself, family and cronies. Yet at his last lap of his cursed life he has the audacity to squeeze more from the tax-payers without mercy. He has no end to his greed for wealth and I strongly believe retribution for him is nigh. He really has no shame and thick-skinned. Rightfully he should be doing God's work and spend more time sleeping and praying in the mosque in Alor Star rather than in Putrajaya.
Dato, since the AG's report,I have been observing that Uncle Jibby has found new energy and a new lease of political life.In fact you can see the makings of a Mahathir protegy.
ReplyDeleteSince Jibby cannot depend on Dr Mahathir's support,as Dr Mahathir is not anyone he can just order around,he has gone on the offensive against the Badawi faction.By letting the cows fiasco leaked out and incriminating Shahrizat and her family.
Shahrizat is one of the most powerful ally of the Badawi faction.By showing that he can make Shahrizat irrelevant,in the process neutralising the Badawi faction. They should have a pow wow soon if not already. And maybe have already signed a peace treaty.
All this means that PR cannot let down its guard and be complacent. If the factions in Umno comes together,a stronger Umno means that they will not get humilated in the polls. Therefore if Umno loses small, either way it will be a race to the wire for Putrajaya.
We can forget about the Mca,Gerakan and the Mic.They will cease to exists after the elections. For Umno to consolidate their coming together,my personal opinion is that the elections will be after the second half if not end of the year.

Have some common sense and dont display your ignorance and stupidity. You are just like this blogger. Equally stupid. If this country is so bad why are you still here enjoying yourself?
Dato, sayang betul awak dengan bangsa yang baling kepala babi kedalam masjid. Mati esok awak mintalah ditanam di kubur cina.
ReplyDeleteDato,my mistake on earlier comments.Last year the values of these properties was reported to have dropped somewhere near half a billion(ringgit and not pounds)Just recently(EPF) it has added more prime property to its stable borrowing two billion pounds from banks. It should read borrowing about three hundred million pounds from banks and not two billion pounds from banks.
ReplyDeleteSomebody gave me a translation of a Chinese newspaper's editorial. It questioned if Proton under DRB Hicom would still enjoy Govt subsidy and price protection, now that it has been taken private.
ReplyDelete-MAKORANG-
For Umno, midstream is eternity. But I thought eternity is for god? As for development, which country has not developed in all those 50 so years? So, as far as the claim of bringing development to the country is concerned, Umno is talking through their old horse nose. Oh ya, only Umno knows about 2020 because they were the ones who fantasize about it.
ReplyDeleteGong Xi Fa Chai dear Bruno, Nick, Walla and everyone. In a matter of hours you will have have a reunion dinner.
ReplyDeleteFor Sak, it will be the first CNY with the DAP. Chap Boh Liao for him.
May he have a propitious year.
Looks like the elections will not be held so soon.
The earliest is July. Maybe not even this year.
I take the cue from Najib's request to settle the grouses of the civil servants within three months.
It is the civil servants who form the bulk of the BN voters.
Just a gentle reminder:
Stop using the words man who can walk on water if you want Najib to lose.
I was in the US during the 2008 presidential elections and they keep talking about Obama as the Messiah who can walk on water.
He won.
Now I noticed the Republican Presidential nominees in the primary debates refrain from using the words to describe Obama.

Congratulations on your conviction to DAP. You have changed horse after being a diehard UMNO man for these many years.
ReplyDeleteSo was Tunku and Tun Hussein . They were not in UMNO in their last days after having been in power under UMNO. Life goes on without UMNO.
Nobody is beholden to a corrupt system that don't seem to go away.
Orangseremban,

Harap bila PR berjaya ke Putrajaya tentukan BM dikembangkan seluas luasnya.Kerana bahasa menyatukan bangsa.Pemansohan PPMSI adalah keputusan yang tepat bagi Malaysia.Terima kasih BN.
Najib might have used the wrong animal when quoting Honest Abe about changing horses midstream. Leopards would have been more accurate.
ReplyDeleteWas he directing his request at those he already knew would be swinging their votes to Pakatan in GE13 on the very reason Umno has not changed its spots since GE12 - otherwise why say don't change?
And if these voting rakyat were to ask now that Mahathir has come out supporting DAP's initiative to declare assets, would Najib be immediately submitting the expenditure statements of the Permata project to an independent body appointed by parliament?
With a yawning national debt anytime soon to hit half a trillion ringgit, the rakyat need to know because the rakyat have all lost hope that people who can spend public funds so ruinously and unconscionably for over thirty years will lose no sleep leaving the rakyat as riders of horses in midstream to drown in the river while these fine leaders take a riverboat cruise like how they do in Disneyland, Miami, Florida, zipcode 32830.
Since the rakyat are now reminded to ride horses, the inevitable conclusion is that they will soon not be able to afford even local cars.
DRB-Hicom is an Umno company which supplies autoparts to Proton while running Honda, VW and Suzuki franchises and marketing Proton through Eon. It also has some Mindef vehicular contracts.
The menglembu peanut questions now are these:
- where is the independent business case that says giving Proton to DRB-Hicom is in the best interest of Proton when it could also well be to protect DRB-Hicom's own autoparts business which would have been jeopardized should Proton be given to a foreign partner which would definitely have more expertise in running Proton?
- how much can DRB-Hicom technically improve Proton in the two years that is the moratorium period against any sale of its Proton stake for capital gains when Proton's problems have compounded with loss of market share and brand value, incoherence in model extension, weak after-sales service, conflicting showroom selling data and costly fifty percent utilization of its two plants?
- where is DRB-Hicom to find the right R&D people to design and build winnable new models based on the new common platform strategy when such a strategy requires exceptional technical skills to be present in order for DRB-Hicom to also tap into its Japanese and German vendors methods, if they are at all not too indisposed to provide them?
This country has been run like how Proton has been run and its problem passed from one hand to another at increasing cost to public funds. The rakyat have been forced not to have choices they can afford in order to support a project or a party they have long become disillusioned with.
Maybe that was what was really meant when talking about not changing horses midstream.

Five to fifteen seats either way.My money will be on Pakatan.Small margin,it is still okay.A win is still a win, even by a nose.As long as there's change, better times are ahead for all Malaysians.
quiet despair,
ReplyDeletei hope yr hope that elections be held later, will turn out true. but it will not change the outcome-bn will suffer its most devastating defeat.
unfortunately, the elections will be held very early. how do i know? because elections dry run are already carried out in Pekan, bilik gerakan are up, and pusat daerah mengundi are already established. when these take place in Pekan, the seat of Najib Razak, elections is round the corner. my bet it will take place in march but not later than June 2012.
Quite Despair,
ReplyDeleteI was also in the US during the 2008 presidential elections. Then the mood and rallying cry was anything but Republican. That was how Obama won.
Now the same mood and rallying cry for change is anything but Umno(ABU).This is why Umno is going to get blown into the ocean.By the winds of change.(TSUMANI ll)
Bro Sak
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. My relative who is one of his many, many workers in Pekan said the same thing. He comes home home only to change clothers.
Whenever this busy-body call him, he will be saying I am at bilik gerakan.
If you read back my postings, I did say it's gonna be in March.
But now many said it's not gonna be this year.
During the giving out of the Bantuan RM1 in Pekan, he said: Tahun naga ni bagus. Elections boleh diadakan sekarang. Then pause.. Kalau tahun depanpun boleh juga."
I am sure you are like many of us who are suffering from guessing election date fatigue.
Want it to be over and done with. Tak tahanlah dengan this heavy politicking now. We are all in election mode if you look at the comments in your blog and elsewhere.
Yep, Najib's on an election trail. But I think he's waffling. Maybe has decided but he kept changing his mind.
I think he's worried about the civil servant PBA issue. He gave a three month dateline. But I am sure it can be settled less than a month.
The best time is now, because I think he's riding high. And I still stand by my believe that BN will win handsomely.
Even if the GE is held next year, the outcome is still the same. Only negligible differences. I think by now most have decided whom they are voting.
And have you strategised in winning Raub? Do it now. The Nyonya you want to unseat is there almost every week-end. He's launching this and that including Raub taximen as tourist ambassadors.
Hahaha, like Raub is the capital.
I really like to see how Malays in Raub are taking it with you as DAP rep.
Kalau calon UMNO, pejam mata boleh menang. I am sure you are realistic enough to admit orang Melayu Pahang ni orang setia UMNO.

ReplyDeleteYou must be a retarded person if you dont know how to have a good time here. What else do you want? This country not good enough for you?
Najib attended a lunch session with Royal Selangor Club members last week.
ReplyDeleteAfter the usual makan, during the open talk, one member asked PM Najib the following question :
" Dear Mr.PM, You said the opposition can take over Putra Jaya over my dead body in one of your speeches some time ago. That means 'langkah mayat aku dahulu' in Malay. Very serious ...! Mr.PM please tell us what do you mean by that? Would there be a smooth transfer of power to the winning party should BN lose the next election ?
The PM did not give a quick answer. He was lost for words.
The president of the Royal Selangor Club saved the embarrassment by saying the PM NEED NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION IF HE DOES NOT FEEL SO'.Hence proceeded to the next question on English being the medium of language which he could not answer too.
Malunya Najib ...!
The PM is talking about transformasi and nuts all these years and yet can't answer a simple straight question from the floor?
Apa nak jadi ?
QD,
ReplyDeleteYes Pahang is a hunting ground for BN .There is no way this blogger can win in a malay dominated area. The malays are not ready to accept DAP.Of course BN will win in Pahang convincingly. I was in Penang yesterday and saw many BN blue flags all over the town,a sign of an election just around the corner may be.It doesn't look like its going to be in March. The NFC issue need to be sorted out so that it clears the mind of voters that it was a genuine business transactions far from being a corruption as argued.Shahrizat ,a lawyer herself,100 million sue to those PKR goons shows that she dares to prove her innocence. You are right BN especially UMNO will keep Putrajaya with little problems. The election results would be better for BN compared to the 2008.Tghe Rakyat is tired of the squabbles in Pakatan.Too much politicking but no material change.
When UMNO was declared illegal. UMNO baru was formed. This UNMO baru replaces the old UMNO. It is not United Malay National Organisation but 'UNITED MAMAK NATIONAL ORGANISATION' THAT IS WHY A LOT OF mAMAK ARE HOLDING TOP POST IN umno BARU.
ReplyDeleteI'm in quite a jovial mood now and all because many stalwart and "kipas susah mati" of UMNO are blissfully existing in a dream state where in that dream land, UMNO is as strong as it was in the 70's and 80's (BN will win with little effort but if that was so, one wonders why Najib has such difficulties in finding the auspices dates? No clues coming from the stars, the moon, the cloud or bomoh or Mr designer, Kapp? BN will win no matter what, says one anon..but why wasn't the GE held yesterday, if that's the case, huh?). Well, anons, QDs and such, keep on dreaming and sleepwalking. I truly, truly and truly hope that all of you stay dreaming and sleepwalking until it's too late to realize that you are walking on the "double tracking (triple the cost)" railroad track and of course there's an electric locomotive made by the China Harbor Construction Company (perplexing, ain't it?) barreling down the track in front of you at 90km/h, just mere meters away. Go in peace or go in pieces??? My take? Go in ashes (ABU) of course!
ReplyDeleteNick.
Dato',
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh when you describe the horse as a limping three legged horse. This is still too good a description for UMNO-BN. UMNO-BN is now an old, haggard, limping 2 legged horse with the remaining 2 legs stuck in quicksand. If we don't get off this old UMNO-BN horse stuck in the quicksand, we would all surely be swallowed by the quicksand too. And the man who walks on water may not even be powerful enough to pull the dead UMNO-BN horse out of the quicksand and to revive it.
Nick
ReplyDeleteMost times, QD talks make sense. He's not dreaming. He's a realist. It's you who are having delusions. Didn't QD said many times, Abu will turn to ashes. I setuju because I am a very involved party person. QD is a brave man to be writing in this blog when everyone seems to be hitting out at him. Heran ya kenapa tak ada langsung orang UMNO kat sini. Kena delete ke, Tuan blog?
What about Tengku Razaligh staying put in UMNO ...Any future for him in UMNO ?
ReplyDeleteWhat is he waiting for or hesitating for so long ?
UMNO has long sidelined him already.
He has his pride too , so it would be losing face if he too abandons the horse now ! It's now or never.
who is the biggest winner in malaysian economy?? the powerful cronies n politicians. the poor suffers ?? poverty everywhere?? is this not malaysia today??
ReplyDeleteLet umno work hard for you - by voting them out of power. Only then will they try their best for yr vote.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, PR won't do such a bad job that we need to vote umno & gang back into power again!
