Anwar has been acquitted. I don’t wish to douse the flames of enthusiasm that was evident on the faces and response from his supporters. Family members and friends were elated. I am watching out for possible landmines.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Anwar said, this present case shouldn’t be considered as a landmark case representing the independence of the judiciary. The only concession he made was to recognize the courage of the presiding judge to arrive at this particular verdict. It will be interesting to watch what happens in the coming months.
The future of Malaysia will depend on what happens within one or two weeks after the Anwar verdict. He has been acquitted. However I do not think he is out of the woods yet. Despite being acquitted Anwar is circumspect about the judiciary. His acquittal does not prove the judiciary is independent he says. Now, that is somewhat ominous. Why would Anwar say that?
Anwar knows this. He is let off the hook this time- that’s what the government MAY want the public to think. So that they can say, this is proof that the judiciary is independent. DR Mahathir says it before the sitting PM does. Dr Mahathir says Anwar’s acquittal is proof that the judiciary in independent. The information Minister said the same thing too. Finally the PM joined in saying the same thing. It’s almost like preparing the ground to justify that if Anwar is charged and convicted for some other offences, it is not possible for people to accuse the judiciary of being not independent. It is the same judiciary that acquitted Anwar in this sodomy 2 case.
What if, Anwar is charged for other offenses? And he is convicted there because the evidence is so overwhelming. Anwar isn’t able to say the judiciary is independent now because if he is indeed convicted on another instance, he can’t turn around to say, the judiciary is not independent. That would be contradictory. So despite being acquitted, Anwar can’t say the judiciary is independent.
He can be charged for making a false report about the video showing a man resembling Anwar having sex with a China doll. Having sex is not a crime but making a false report is. Anwar is charged once more because the prosecution has the omega watch, the Chinese national in their custody and the video is proven as authentic by forensic experts. Anwar can then be charged and may be found for committal.
So, he is still not out of the woods yet. Even in the present case, the prosecution can appeal. Dr Mahathir will order DS Najib to appeal. Dr Mahathir would rather have UMNO lose than allow Anwar to be PM. He knows if Anwar ascends to the chief executive office, Mahathir and all those on the same ship are finished. So Anwar must be stopped at all cost.
We must move this country beyond Anwar. Much energy and resources have been spent on the Anwar Saga. While Anwar and his supporters will shout of fitnah and of lies perpetrated, the public is also wasted with the tiring claim of conspiracy. It’s been 14 long and bloodletting years.
Anwar’s salvation actually lies in changing the government. And that is possible through the next general elections.
It doesn't matter with problems or no problems, over or not over and who cares with mahathir kutty and wtf with Najib clueless. The people just hate them period.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not ALLAH maha perkasa and not kutty or weaky mat mongol.Let them be warned that never underestimate the rakyat and once the explosion started those in power will have not enough ground to run. So stop the provocation unless they hate this nation.
Alahai... Braheng Ali.
Dato, this time Anwar got off because public perception was overwhelmingly against the Umno GOM.It could also be another PR ploy.Umno GOM did not charged Anwar for sodomy 2 and wasted two long years trying him just to let him walk.
ReplyDeleteIt will depend when the GE will be called. If the GE is call later in the year, there is a good chance that Anwar will be charged for another offence. The only thing is that the Umno GOM forget conveniently to charge Thamby Chik, the leader of the Datuk T trio for procession and screening of xxx-rated films.
I think Anwar should be left alone and the field can get pretty even for both BN and PR to slug it out for the minds, hearts and votes of the nation’s electorate. Any further prosecutions on his supposed pending crimes of past, particularly the one related to sex video, will boomerang on Najib and BN with the middle ground Malaysians voting against the ruling alliance with vengeance. Don’t outvote yourselves!
ReplyDeleteDato',
ReplyDeleteI agree fully with you that Anwar is not out of the wood yet. After much consideration, NTR is exercising the best option under the present circumstances. He is just retreating to prepare another onslaught that may spell the death knell to Anwar. The best option now is to prepare someone else to lead PR. Someone acceptable to all and has no baggage whatsoever. Ain't there anybody at all among PR? The time to do that is NOW! Do not wait for a new charge is pressed against Anwar. That will take away the wind from NTR's sail.
Pak Tua
Encik Ariff,
ReplyDeleteIf Najib and Umno come up with a new case against Anwar again, hopefully it is something other than sex. The sex case is getting really old now, no one will believe it anymore.
Saudara Sakmonkol,
ReplyDeleteYou do have a valid point!
But the shift from BN to PR would not be solely because of Anwar. At best, he is just one catalyst.
The real reasons are known to everyone. Dah tak tahan dengan gelagat BN, especially UMNO..!
Even some staunch supporters of UMNO (the ones I know personally) dah naik meluat sampai termuntah-muntah. Mind you these people I mention are not even in any party or politics for that matter.
They have been pacifying people like me to "kasik chan"... But now they are even more meluat that I.
Sekian.
Dah Tak Tahan Dah - DTTD
Dato,
ReplyDeleteTahniah kerana u masuk DAP. Saya cuma nak tanya pendapat dato tentang anwar. Adakah pendapat dato masih seperti dulu atau sudah berubah setelah dato join pasukan PR? Inii kerana kebanyakan musuh Anwar yg mengutuk beliau ketika didalam BN sekarang ini tidur sebantal dgnnya....Tak payah ulas dgn bahasa bahasa bombastik. Cukup dgn bahasa mudah utk semua akan paham....
Zack
Whatever the verdict was yesterday, one thing for sure is the rise of the people has gained momentum. Look and see for yourself when the rounds of ceramah were done. Lots of people regardless of race were there showing support not necessarily for Anwar but for a better nation, that is to make do without UMNO-BN in power!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind anyone leading Pakatan. Problem is, a wrong type of exit by Anwar will break the confidence of the public.
ReplyDeleteAfter this fiasco, jailing Anwar using ANY reason, will not be swallowed by the public as long as Anwar denies any wrongdoing. The sex video, even if believable, won't make much difference. Malays might be religious but I don't think it makes them less human. We humans don't like excessive bullying and witch-hunting.
At this stage, Anwar exiting the stage by being jailed will be okay for PR but Anwar resigning from PR will 'indicate' his guilt.
Once Anwar admits to any wrongdoings, it will be child's play to make all other slanders, like LGE's son's case, stick. More slanders can be brought against Mat Sabu, etc.
The general public, including me, are not experts in searching and finding the truth. Anwar might not be the glue of Pakatan anymore but he has been forced into being the bulwark against UMNO's only weapon: sex-slanders. If he falls willingly, we might see UMNO using their weapons wantonly against anyone and everyone.
Dato,
ReplyDeleteCharging AI for making a false report on the Datuk T video just won't happen.
The cops will have to prove that the video is genuine and I don't see how the courts can consider as credible witnesses a prostitute or/and a person who facilitated in that wrongful act of prostitution.
For every expert that is brought in to say that the video is genuine, the defense can bring in 2 more to say that it isn't.
Public opinion on the video is already on the side of AI, charging him again will only reinforce this perception.
Anwar is definitely not out of the woods yet. More interesting events are anticipated for as long as Anwar does not stop his charade against UMNO/BN regime.
ReplyDeleteThe tactic used against Anwar i.e. acquit him now to show that judiciary is independent to justify for another charge and conviction for some other offences is quite easy to understand. Gone were the days that the regime can deceive the rakyat. It is public perception now that whatever accusations levelled against Anwar are trumped up accusations. I applaud Anwar/PR for being able to come this far. Anwar/PR are one up.
As you rightly said, Dr Mahathir would rather have UMNO lose than allow Anwar to be PM. The stakes for that Mamak is too high, so Anwar must be stopped at all cost. For those who live to see the fight since Mahathir/Anwar fallout in 1997, we know the actual issue - its all about economy, corruption, cronyism and nepotism.
As for the rakyat, we all know that the fight is beyond Anwar. However, it is naive to say that PR will have an easier sailing if somebody else helms the coalition. LKS, LGE, Hadi, Mat Sabu, Azmin, Zaid?, TR? or even "baggage free" Nurul Izzah would face the wrath of UMNO/BN with any trumped up accusations. We know how the regime works. I don't think anyone would be able to stand up like Anwar does.
Like it or not, Anwar has become the icon of fight against injustice and the corrupt regime. Two up for Anwar/PR.
Anwar can continue to helm PR and let UMNO/BN focus on him. Meanwhile, other PR leaders should lead battles on the ground. Anwar may fall along the way but so be it. Afterall the fight is beyond Anwar. The fight has to be along with Anwar's fight.
Dear Sakmongkol
ReplyDelete“We must move this country beyond Anwar.”
Yes, Anwar or no Anwar, we must forge ahead, but not with this current government. They are past their sell-by date. We need change. We need new leadership. We need new ideas.
We want the new government to repeat on a national scale what has been achieved in Penang in its procurement policy – open tenders. By doing this it is estimated that the government can save 10-20% through competitive bidding. With better management of the civil service we can also cut waste by better planning and better execution. This will save another 10-15%. So even without cutting subsidies we might be able to balance the federal budget. Penang turned years of deficits into surpluses.
But we need to tackle the current subsidies, mainly in fuel – petrol, diesel and gas. This is simply because they are unsustainable in the long term. Besides, subsidies, when sustained over long periods, distort prices and demand in the wrong way. We simply become inefficient users of fuel because it is cheap. We postpone taking action that results in better fuel usage. We poison the environment.
Removing subsidies can only be done if the real income of the people rises. Right now one third of working Malaysians earn RM700 per month, the same wage that we pay 3-4 million foreign workers from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Indonesia. Filipino maids are now paid RM1200 per month, excluding free meals and free lodging. This is higher than what 1/3 of working Malaysians earn. Surely something is very wrong with our economy when we import so much foreign labour and in the process impoverish millions of Malaysians. Our businesses are not moving up the value chain. They continue to rely on cheap labour. So Malaysians have to compete with millions of foreigners for the same low paying jobs. Bad economic policies and corrupt Immigration officers working with labour agencies have conspired to ensure that 40% of Malaysian households earn less than RM1500 per month. That’s BN’s idea of progress.
This directly leads to severe social and racial problems because 90% of this 40% are Malays, the very people that UMNO had pledged to help. It is not happening, and it cannot happen when you have the NFC abuse multiplied 1000 times. It cannot happen until the Malays rebel against UMNO and free the shackles that UMNO has placed over their minds. It will not happen until new Malays emerge to tell the Malays they are not inferior to the Chinese. They have what it takes to succeed. What they need is confidence, desire, education and real opportunities.
That’s why I am excited by the possibility of PR wining. That’s why I am excited when people like Sakmongkol and Aspan join the DAP, or PKR or PAS.
Dato Ariff
ReplyDeleteI do totally agree with you that 'it ain't over unless it's over'. The M-factor will strike back!
Dato,
ReplyDeleteAs you so rightly put it, Dr M will not let DSAI off the hook...the future of Mukris becoming PM,depends on it...if DSAI becomes PM...all of Dr M secrets will be let loose.
I pray that all Malaysians will go out to vote that the only salvation our beloved Malaysia has is a change at Putrajaya!
I posted this in Din Merican's blog. I will repeat it here cos I agree with Ariff that something sinister is in the UMNO workshop.
ReplyDelete'I am convinced beyond any thread of doubt that the judge played along with UMNO’s directions from the very beginning.
But when the time came, he showed his middle finger to UMNO and Najib and followed his God-given conscience.
Now it is for the Court of Appeal to overturn the verdict and this is something which is a reality. The judges in the COA are UMNO stooges.
If the AG appeals, it would mean my assumption above is correct."
Sam01
If I may add. UMNO will lose more ground and lose whatever goodwill it won if it continues to file false report charges against Anwar.
ReplyDeleteNajib will stand on ground zero if this happens. He should not allow Mahathir to dictate terms but just ignore him just as Zabidin Diah ignored UMNO.
Hi Sak-AK47,
ReplyDeleteFirst let me say, I am no admirer of Anwar. I believe that anyone who cared to read our political history will realize that Anwar is the quintessence of Malay politics - "where nothing is ever what it seems to be". Its so hard to tell where the man is going in terms of his true politics.
But the realpolitik for Anwar is, I believe easily determined.
Its not a matter of his salvation.
The man is going for redemption. Now, that is something personal and in realpolitik for us, the rakyat, the man's struggle for redemption might just get in the way of the plans to kick BN out of PutraJaya.
Personally yesterday acquittal verdict for DSAI was a pleasant news for me for I really wish him to have more time with the family more than wasting his time alone in the jail.As a family man I know how it feels to have time with the dearest ones.Whatever happened between him and Saiful only both of them know. They will be judged for any misadventures in the next world. There is no escape. It is too private .It is now their relationship with the creator to seek keinsafan.DSAI will slways be remembered by many as full of controversies.
ReplyDeletePolitically, as for me he is no more a PM material. He is good at moving the masses getting them emotionally
charged just as he was during his student days at UM because of his firely speeches. He is a good orator and a
good leader sadly tarnished by poor behaviour, morally.
Najib was such a gentleman refusing to comment the result as it is really a private matter between DSAi and Saiful though many have been made to believe it was politically motivated but then Saiful was never a politician.
This is a high profile case involving one who aspire to be PM of Malysia by whatever means .One who made many unfulfilled promises ,who changed clothes depending on
the audience, who is willing to destroy whatever that has been built by the previous leaders especially Tun ,the unity ,harmony and peace to achieve his dream.
His acquittal was good in a way it dispel all this crap accusation that JUDICIARY is dependent and being
meddled by the Gomen. It is good that DSAI can now prepare for the PRU 13 for his party to capture Putrajaya though I doubt it can happen from my observation.
Best of luck to both BN and PR .May the better party win. Unlike Bruno and Nick I am for the current Gomen.!Thanks.
Dato
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the point of TDM playing Machivellian games with the gullible Malaysian public. But to use the sex stuff will stretching the patience of the public too far. Also the point of foreign experts which you mentioned is one sided and not proven.
Is the Judiciary out of the woods? The string of cases where the verdict is doubtful, is there for all to view. So we need more convincing.
The judge only pointed to two aspects of the case. DNA was tainted while the evidence of Saiful was stated as uncorroborated! He did not touch on the demeanour or truthfulness of the accuser which is crucial in such cases. Further he did not bring up any of the evidences of the medical witnesses from the two hospitals. Maybe he will do so in his written judgement. As the intention was to acquit the accused, the main points were sufficient.
I believe TDM will not allow the mater to rest. He is likely to goad the PM to put pressure on DSAI using other vile means. DSAI is prudent in his comments.
As much as I wish there will be no more cases for DSAI let the law takes it's own course.Let's again uphold justice of law .If there is a case for further charges it is not the Gomen decision to pursue.Again have faith in our judiciary.Let's not speculate no matter how much you desire for PR to win. Each one of us has a vote each.Let's choose the best for us.
ReplyDeleteHonestly ,this shout of corruption and cronyism is getting hackneyed .We are all tired of it.Many who disagree with me have blamed me for like katak bawah tempurong because I am an orang kampong .In my first comment in Aspan blog I was touched by that one Malay song I overheard through an FM Radio.Thought we can share this in Sak blog :
ORANG KATA SAYA KATAK BAWAH TEMPURONG,
KERANA SAYA ORANG KAMPONG,
TAPI ! SAYA TIDAK PERNAH SOMBONG
ORANG SUSAH SAYA SUKA TOLONG......
Sak, ini lah namanya membalas budi...
Yes, it ain't over yet. An appeal will be filed within 10 days. Let's give Saiful the chance to be vindicated. It's his ass, after all.
ReplyDeleteTak kisahlah if he loses again. Janji he's exhausted all avenues.
Your Mr Aljay has already left for India with his long-suffering wife. Another platform for him to bad-mouth Malaysia. Next stop Turkey.
Thought he would have gone to Umrah to thank Allah for the blessing. Or at least a thanksgiving kenduri at his sprawling Selayang villa.
Takpelah he and his people dah kenyang eating their own words, after the verdict is returned.
And yes, let's stop at this Saiful case. Like I said yesterday, after ths if there are any more Anu's misconduct, just turn a blind eye. Leave him be.
We leave it to Allah. Allah never sleeps.
It's really pointless to charge a man yang tak makan saman.
The China and Omega watch saga, there's a strong case. But forget it. Heard there's other videos coming up.
If the government wins, it's still not a victory to his supporters. The government and the people will still be the losers.
We will see more demos, other explosions and possibly people killed.
We love this country and the peace more than we love our leaders. We cannot have our lives disrupted anymore, just for the selfish interest of someone's incorrigible greed for power.
He has the US government and the international media to back him. We can do no right as we are perceived to be persecuting him.
Now all the transformation agendas and the economic reformations are drowned by this maniac's propaganda machinery to prove his innocence and political prowess.
Najib should now fight the quiet way in his quest for Malaysia's 2020 agenda.
Mr Aljay does not have a road-map to spear-head our economy. So let the rakyat see it. Expose him for his lack of leadership capabilities. That he really does not have an agenda for this country.
That is the only way to defeat him. Right now the rakyat cannot see his ineptitude, because for 14 years we are fighting him for his personal morals. So rakyat pity Anwar as a victim.
Sak, you mentioned Anwar's salvation actually lies in changing the government. And that is possible through the next GE.
But can DAP and PAS have change when someone irrelevant is still there. When there's someone with moral issues.
We are now like the US. They want to rid Obama but looking at the Republican nominees, Obama is heading for a second term.
Why is our people still hankering for someone morally flawed to be the next PM? We seem to be more liberal and accepting than the Americans who throw out would-be candidates even if there are suspicions of an iota of bad morals.
It's time DAP and PAS get together to put Anwar in the back-burner. Compromise among yourselves on a PAS PM and DAP DPM.
There are already statements among PAS leaders that Ustaz Hadi should be the next PM.
Yeah, why not since he has a masters in islamic finance, has economic degree and is well-read. Can administer too, unlike Anwar.
I don't think people on the street can accept an Anwar-Azmin, PM and DPM partnership.
DAP's endorsement to Anwar made it appear that Pakatan has no leaders to project except Anu-war.
So to the people on the street, might as well stay with Najib and Muhyiddin.
So it's back to square one. No change like you want to have.
You be the bold one to effect change in Pakatan. Change mindset from Anwar, who is less academic wise than any leaders in DAP and PAS.
And Anwar should be honorably removed from our political scene. It can be arranged with the US giving him honorary citizen status.
And we can live in peace.
If he is PM, he will devote his time to avenge BN leaders by charging them for alleged corruption and other cases.
Again, we will be on a rigmarole with the courts. Progress be damned.
Same nauseating scenarios with different people.
We must remember Pakatan is formed solely for Anwar's survival and not for the people which BN, PAS and DAP stand for.
Everybody knows that Toon Kutty wants Anwar behind bars to save his thieving corrupt arse. But the thing is, with or without Anwar, if PR is in power, they should throw this "bapak segala penyamun" behind bars, the one who had kicked-start the thieving activities of corrupt UMNO regime
ReplyDeleteLater, the other thieving UMNO regime members should also be paraded, filed in a single-line into the Sungei Buluh prison, lock each and every single cell and throw away the keys for good!
We do not want them to walk free on the surface of this earth!
It's not about the verdict that matters most, it's about the trial itself. The system has failed us time and time again. How come a star witness can refuse to testify because he or she is the Prime Minister etc? Did the police know the verdict beforehand thus allowing the rally to go ahead?
ReplyDeleteThat is what we need to reform, the system.
Strange enough, I was just thinking about the same thing.
ReplyDeleteYour analysis makes perfect sense.
We've just seen the tailend of Act 2 (Sodomy 2). Let's wait for Act 3 to start.
Dear Dato'
ReplyDeleteThat Anwar is not out of the wood is clear. He (Anwar) sees this clearly. It is Anwar who should be making his move quickly to place the party and it's struggles above him immediately. Even placing his wifey or daughter in the driving seat will not help but will only serve to villify him and the party.
He will still remain in History as a a legacy even over TDM if he martyrs himself for the sake of party and its cause.
This is not to say to fades into obvilion as his charisma is still needed by the party.
Dear Dato', I share your opinion. It's not going to stop right here. Their long hands will try to reach Anwar by hook or by crook if not Mahathir can't sleep well.
ReplyDeleteSo, habis lah calon ko orang berdua Tengku Razaleigh!! No chance la to become PM. Its ok la your Supreme Leader Lim Kit Sang Buaya will be your choice of PM what!! He is DAP Supremo, so as a staunch DAP member both of you MUST will surely support him to be PM!!! hip hip hooray. ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteUp till this moment i cannot relate how the omega watch prove that dsai is the man in the video.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your last two lines.
ReplyDeleteLets make it possible!
"Anwar is charged once more because the prosecution has the omega watch."
ReplyDeleteThere's no way they can link that Omega watch with Anwar. No Saudi prince is going to get involved in Datuk Trio or Rosemajib or I Polis Raja's machinations. Or else they would have gone to town long ago and Datuk Trio would be vacationing in the fckshops of Phuket!
dpp
we are all of 1 Race, the HUman race
Anwar problems are definitely not over yet.
ReplyDeleteHe should lay low for awhile and let the propose one to take over for now.
Recharge himself and cleans up his mind with compassion.
Compassion for the people that go thru with him.
you seem to opine a'la rpk.
ReplyDeleteif the both of you are proved right, i shudder at what might befall malaysia...
Well the majority of the rakyat is now asking why waste all the tax payers money in the first place for some asshole. Now they are asking n wondering if there will be an appeal for an asshole when there is no appeal for murder.
ReplyDeleteAnd lastly no one is fool because all the keling jadi bumi and all his kingdom man is already coming out in droves to sing clear to the Corridors of Power to be,
Dato,
ReplyDeleteThere is of course another probability. Not to charge Anwar again. But instead, since the judiciary has been deemed "free" from interference, then would it perhaps be seen that way in awarding similar "not enough evidence" acquittals in the case of Tun LLS, Cow-gate and other high profiled cases :)
Kaaj
Dato,
ReplyDeleteSometimes the verdict is intended not for another round of malicious attacks. There is still Tun LLS, Cow-Gate and other similar high profile cases. The judiciaries decision in those cases will mirror the one seen yesterday - "not enough evidence".
kaaj
who are the biggest losers in this deal? of course Sakmongkol and Aspan! There goes their plan to get their idol Tengku R to be PR leader. what a sad ending for the both of them. Malunya........

Datuk Sak,
ReplyDeleteNajib had rewritten the script, titled " It is better to lose in the Court Room than to lose everything in the GE13"
Losing the GE13 is the last thing Najib & Mahathir can't imagine at all happening to them.
So if the rakyaat can be fool by Najib & Mahathir, then after GE13 they will be more dangerous than ever.
Thereby all Malaysian must be well aware, DSAI had been freed, the next thing is to free the nation and it's people from UMNO evils deeds forever and we must ABU in GE13 to achieve it.
Sodomy 2 is a very sad episode and reflected the ugly side of malays, all nurtured by Mahathir. As a malay I'm truly embarassed and ashamed at it all. The accuser was a malay, the conspirators from the Umno and Police side are all malays. I'm talking about Najib, Musa and Rodwan. The majority of the prosecutors were malays and of course we had a malay judge accsuing another malay of sodomy.
ReplyDeleteDon't these ugly and despicable malays have better things to do than to 'quarrel in the midst of worldwide publicity' over Saiful's arse. It is Saiful's duty to take care of his own arse and he could easily do so since he had the PM and the IGP at his disposal. Why drag the whole country in this ugly episode over his dirty arse.
I think Anwar had been Finance Minister for a number of years. For goodness sake, Umno & their police should go and get some cases where Anwar had been caught abusing his office for personal and family interest. And not showcase those fabricated sexual cases which the majority of malaysians would dismiss it as all made up.
As to the sex video produced by the trio, I beg to disagree. I don't think Anwar had made a false report. Despite what others say, he was not the man featured in the video. What the police is investigating is an allegation that when Anwar gave his statement to that indian Police officer( forgot his name) he must have made some statements in answer to the recording officer, which is later found to be false in material particulars. I suspect he must have said that he does not know Eskay when a later video published by Umno bloggers showed Anwar and Eskay together entering a lift. This might be a small issue but to Umno and the Police, anything that can implicate Anwar is big enough for them. Giving a statement to a police officer in answer to a question, which is later found to be false is considered perjury.
What can we do? We've Lembu condo, PKFZ, missed use of Zakat money, Lembu Head, Pig Head, and the list goes on. We know UMNO Baru is concern about the money only.
ReplyDeleteSalam
Dato'
ReplyDeleteEasy for us to just say nasty things about Anwar but have we ever consider the reaction we would have if we were in his shoes? What about our family?
It is so easy for him and family to leave and live their lives elsewhere like so many self exiled tan sri's, dato' seri's that got rich during his time in power. Yet he stayed...
His wife and children deserves the respect for standing up to all this slander. If Anwar did not have anything much to be glorified in the end, his whole family is one that should be remembered as being one tough family unit.
That fact we should all agree.
Orang Muda.
charging anwar again for some other offences will be too obvious. pakatan will make anwar their martyr
ReplyDelete"His acquittal was good in a way it dispel all this crap accusation that JUDICIARY is dependent and being meddled by the Gomen."
ReplyDeleteKampung man,
Not a single person that I talked to ever believed that Anwar being acquitted got to do with the Judiciary being independent.
Like Dato, they suspect that
"It ain't over till the fat lady sings". Note, no reference to RM.
If the Judiciary has been independent, this case would not have gone to court in the first place, let alone dragged on for 2 years. Waste of tax-payer money!
Now, everybody is asking "WHY the acquittal?"
Quiet Despair,
ReplyDelete"Yes, it ain't over yet. An appeal will be filed within 10 days".
What makes you think there is going to be an appeal? I bet you, the AG will not appeal as it will backfire badly.
"Thought he would have gone to Umrah to thank Allah for the blessing".
That is the culture of UMNO leaders. They will go for UMRAH every year to cleanse themselves after cheating the rakyat. That is also their believe.
"Mr Aljay does not have a road-map to spear-head our economy".
Did you ever try to read Buku Jingga or you couldn't be bothered because of your prejudices towards him?
"Expose him for his lack of leadership capabilities".
You mean to say Najib and Muhyiddin has better leadership qualities. I let the readers decide.
"If he is PM, he will devote his time to avenge BN leaders by charging them for alleged corruption and other cases".
What is wrong with it? If there are prove that they are corrupted, let us all put them on trial. This is why UMNO is so scared.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeletePlease try to comment in Bahasa. Your English is below par. Tapi since you orang kampong, boleh terima laa tu..
Dato',
ReplyDeleteYou took the words right out of my mouth. The immediate response of Anwar's acquittal from all the senior UMNO-BN leaders seem to be a well orchestrated and drafted script response of "this shows the judiciary is independent" nonsense. UMNO is using reverse psychology and Anwar and his supporters should wise up that UMNO will not so easily let Anwar off the hook. The acquittal of Anwar is simply a bait for bigger and worst things to come for Anwar. No doubt UMNO is brewing something. Let's watch this space.
dream on datok, the mass just don't get it. glance through the comments for your postings and through the blogsphere. you know that majority malaysians don't give a rat's ass about judicial reform (or whatever reform). nobody from both sides cares about the fact that the judge made the best judgement by acknowledging that the dna proof is not acceptable under the circumstances, and the twisted statement of saiful if totally bogus. with this kind of mentality, in the end everybody loses.
ReplyDeleteQuiet Despair,
ReplyDeleteHi buddy, its good to know that you are in a partying mood celebrating Anu-war's aquittal, and dancing to the tune of 'it ain't over till it's over'.There is another song though am not sure whether you have heard it before. It start's and end like 'it ain't over till I,the grumpy fat lady sing's'.Cheers.
The judiciary is only independent when Anwar becomes the PM, even if it more rigged than ever. :)
ReplyDeleteAssalamu'alaikum
ReplyDelete1.The scene on the SCREEN:
TOYOL and PONTIANAK
SMILING faces
no fear of GOD
no fear of DEATH
looting and siphoning
our Nation's WEALTH
2.The scene WE want to see :
GE13 - the day after
GONE forever
the CHANCE to plunder
TOYOL and PONTIANAK
struck by LIGHTNING
NEVER recover
cheering CROWD
smiling UNDERTAKER
Wassalam.
Whatever they do after this makes no difference. People no longer love the BN. Some may still like, but not love!
ReplyDelete14 days later barulah tahu, ok !?
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Datuk. The acquittal is not the end for Anwar. We don't know what the powers that be will come up with next. And even here the prosecution still has a lot of time to appeal Anwar's acquittal and if past experience is anything to go by, they will. Look, Saiful has said he wants justice too and that the prosecution should appeal. A script well written? So, Anwar might yet be convicted on appeal. At least, Anwar cannot say that he didn't have his day in court. Didn't the High Court acquit him? Anway, it's good that you and Aspan have joined DAP. You have our votes.
ReplyDeleteElection is near,I dun think UMNO will carry on with the sex tape case cos the porno actor of MCA Chua Soi Lek is begging Jibby not to proceed.
ReplyDeleteOne of the bloggers above implied that Anwar is morally flawed and Najib is a gentleman. You want to see what you want to see. Go ahead – no issue at all.
ReplyDeleteAny neutral person with basic intelligence knows that the sodomy case(s) against Anwar is a false and fabricated one designed to finish him off politically by sending him behind bars to languish for years to come.
Getting Anwar’s DNA sample afresh and validate it legally was a course the authorities were hell-bent to take in order to fix him. Remember at one occasion he had pre-fixed appointment at Police HQ to give statement in the afternoon. But the police waylaid him hours before that and locked him up overnight at the station for no justifiable reason and released him the following day. Was it done for fun? Certainly not. It was to get his DNA sample openly or by stealth. I suspect they did manage to get it. Later they moved a bill in parliament to validate all DNAs that were obtained in the course of investigations or something to that effect, I think. Despite all the efforts by the police, Anwar was vindicated by the courts which acquitted him in both sodomy 1 case (upon appeal) and now in sodomy 2 case.
Look at the 2nd case from this angle. Anwar is being watched 24/7 – his current and intended movements, his phone and email traffic etc. The authorities should have known in advance the arranged rendezvous between Anwar and Saiful at the said condo? What do you do with the heaven sent golden opportunity to catch Anwar with his pants down? Simple. You conceal a pin-hole camera in the apartment to record everything that transpires there in video. Getting this done should be easy as Saiful is your man. Perhaps this was done but it drew a blank. Why? Because the two were probably there for purposes other than for indulging in sodomy. If sodomy it was, Anwar would have been nailed good and proper and destroyed way back then itself.
What about the morals of Najib? When Razak Baginda was in police custody an SOS message was sent to him and he responded via another person for Razak to be calm and that he would speak to IGP re the matter (This is what RPK revealed in Malaysia Today). Is this not a blatant case of him interfering with the course of justice? What about allegations of corruption in defense procurements? In respect of the murder of the Mongolian woman, you say you have never seen or known her but you showed cowardice to take a stand in court to be grilled over this issue. But you were ready to go to mosque to sumpah – how very convenient! Again you first lied that you never met Saiful but few days later you said you did.
So who is moral or immoral – Anwar or Najib?
QD abis melenting. cakap merapu. kesian.
ReplyDeleteInstead of developing the country to the next level, the BN leaders are busy at who's screwing who.Why don't they realize that this will only reflect their low IQ and 3rd world mentality. They too are not angels, are they?
ReplyDeleteDear Hawk,
ReplyDeleteOf course Anuar is immoral.period.
Extremely rational analysis and reasoning. It'll be good for others to think this through and take heed. Beware the road ahead.
ReplyDeleteHi fans
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Am happy as can be. Not despairing, not crying myself to sleep. Najib and UMNO wins this round, And my dad is Melayu.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteI think that you have to get to know my best buddy Quiet Despair. Both of you will get to make a good tag team. But before you get to know him, first I want you to think about the big picture.
At night when you are in your bed, before you go to sleep, close your eyes and visualised in your mind that Umno/BN has been sent to pasture.Imagine how happy you and your fellow Malaysians will be.A country without the corrupted cancerous Umno/BN parasites.
Then you will realised that our first piority is to get rid of the commmon enemy number one, Umno/BN,and it is better for you to be on Nick and my side. You will then be cheering your lungs out for a Pakatan victory in the polls.
Then maybe you will not want to know my buddy QD,an Umno diehard after all.
"Hold the accolades! This sordid trial reveals everything that is rotten with the Malaysian system of justice. This case should never have been prosecuted in the first place. That it was, reflected the level or more precisely lack of professionalism on the part of these career prosecutors. As for the trial, there were many instances where the judge could have thrown the case out, as when the physical evidence was introduced. Now the learned judge used that as the reason for acquittal".
ReplyDelete"The verdict notwithstanding, many unanswered questions remain. Najib has yet to explain why he met this confused young man just days before he filed the complaint against Anwar. If, as Najib intimated, that they were discussing a scholarship, I can suggest a few other more talented Malaysians now at top universities who are more deserving of such attention".

Helo fellow citizen, The way i see from talks of the opposition side that is most attracted and fascinating is that when they touch about the issue of corruption. Nevertheless, I believe that most moderate citizens, regardless of race, could trust that a lot of efforts already been planned and implemented by the goverment to overcome this problem. Many cases have been brought to court and justice have been served to include even top level government servants. Stil the opposition is so interested to excite this issue only because it could fast roasting the sentiment of the people to hate the goverment. They are not really focus to challenge today's system of goverment which is long proven able to unite our nation. Can't we see that the goverment is so open already in tackling the cases of corruption. If the goverment is hiding how can the opposition leaders know and become the hot topics in their ceramah anywhere countrywide. If you think of changing the system, of course in this democratic we can do that through the general election. The majority will decide but one thing just to be mindful whichever our choice is, the pillar of our beloved country like it or not is based on multiracial basis and other elements as depicted in our Constitution. No need to elaborate further on this, I guess that's the very fact of Malaysia is. Otherwise where can we find peace, surely not to the satisfaction of everybody!
ReplyDeleteTahniah sak
ReplyDeletewell done bruno.....
ReplyDeleteSak
ReplyDeleteYou were with a group of friends at Bangsar tonight, right? I wasnt so sure it was you. But my pals insisted it was you. Should have said hello, but we were already in the car not far from you guys.
Bruno,
ReplyDelete" this time Anwar got off because public perception was overwhelmingly against the Umno GOM..."
You continue making that false assumption again, putting words into the RAKYAT mouth huh..! believing that the judiciary is on the GOM side and is not independent though it favours Anuar. Many things seem wrong with the BN Gomen in the eyes of PR prior PRU 13.Perhaps the spinners here love their PM wannabe Anuar more than the future of this nation. Can we for once forget this man Anuar. Didn't i said he is not a PM material anymore morally just as the MCA CSL, the difference being that CSL was honest and admitted his doing unlike Anuar.Sigh..it is as though this nation will be hopeless and lost without Anuar.PR should quickly look for an alternative if they can find one. Very sad since Sak now is in DAP his portege Tengku Razaligh(TR )will be left now in the cold.TR is not an acceptable alternative PM candidate to replace Anuar.Furthermore he is an UMNO man and you will be back to square one, UMNO again ! DAP LGE will not like it !
Anyway ,i do hope Anuar is not being charged further and be set free but he made the mistake of making false report on that Omega episod ! Well, well well..It looks like we are going on another cycle again. What a waste of resources. May god bless him and your PR too ! BUT too many unsettled issues in the PR coalition yet to be resolved buddy !.For me I have faith in the current Gomen.Good night.
Perhaps our govt should take this piece of advice from Bloomberg:
ReplyDelete"When the resource-rich nation of 28 million people has made headlines globally in recent years, they have been about sodomy charges against opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, tension between Muslims and Christians, Beyonce’s bellybutton offending local sensibilities or murder investigations involving high-ranking officials. Malaysia really could have its own CSI crime drama.
Far from finding all this entertaining, many foreign investors eye Malaysia with skepticism.......
It's high time for Prime Minister Najib Razak to change the story, to shift the focus toward reforms, not tabloid scandals. Announcing the end of affirmative-action policies that hurt Malaysia's competitiveness might be just the thing."

QD, I think it's high time too that you move on instead of being an 'Anwar-hater'. Why do you hate him so much? Instead, you should be 'shooting' at those who are looting our country high and dry. Be like Dato, principled enough to know when to draw the line with those robbers. Everybody knows that for UMNO to change for the better, it needs to be kicked out in this coming GE.
qd,
ReplyDeleteindeed i was at mahboob yesterday night. it wld have been nice to see a face behind QD. best regards, sakmongkol
Bruno, Malaysian et al
ReplyDeleteI have moved on without Anwar. Envisioned our future without him. His relevance is with you. Like i said he's a perennial pain in my backside.
I pray i don't have to eat my words if he becomes our PM (sic).
But i promise you i will try not to bad-mouth him too much. I regard his name as a bad word or vulgarity. So i will tap my mouth if i uttered it. Or i will place a kitty box like in school where for every vulgarity uttered, we have to pay a dollar.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteWell, you have been offered a chance to be on the side of Nick and me.I guessed you and QD ought to be partners in the tag team. You both deserved each other.Have faith in the kankaroo court and one day the kangaroo with Gani Patail will jump and sit on top of you. Then you will cry and ask Nick and me for assistance.
Sak,QD,
ReplyDeleteBoth you guys love Bangsar a lot eh..May be we should meet.We can tap on our experieneces and exchanging views.May be we can talk football among other things but i am no politician at all.Have lived in Bangsar for 16 years in that little forest called Federal Hill near the palaces and Sri Perdana where Tun and DSAI used to reside.I have my little cottage there. We can get our good buddies Bruno and Nick to come along as well.It will be on me.Of course Mahbob,Cawan and TMC at that Bangsar Lucky Garden is such a happening place. We can invite Aspan too.He sang a beautiful Sri Mersing in the You Tube.If he is the right Aspan from NS i will show him an old photo of him and me standing on a verandah during the student days in PJ.
Bet Sak do not know me but i had makan with him on a couple of occasion with one of his good buddies them having discussion.Sak is cool and a nice gentleman but i think he enjoyed writing alot and well immersed in his blog.I am not from Pahang but my good lady friend Dr Siti Zaharah and Sabarudin Rejab are both good friends if that of any clue.Look forward if we can say hello for teh tarik may be.Have a good day gentlemen.
Yeh! Anwar problem are not over yet.Poor lad !
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteUmno will be very proud to have you as a newly crowned diehard. Now besides my best buddy Quiet Despair would love to have you as his tagteam partner too. After all two heads are better than one.And may the kangaroo courts be kind and truthful to you in the future.
Kankaroo,kangkaroo all the way.
Our idol Sir Arif looks better in the flesh. Handsomer and younger. The fotos do not do justice to him. He's ganteng like bibik Indon said. Shed some pounds, bro, and you will look better.
ReplyDeleteSoon you will be the nation's phenomena. May i suggest you be like Musang Hitam and Anu (oops, break my vow), who direct photographers to shoot them only at certain angles. In their heydays, lah. Now who bothers.
Dato Sak,
ReplyDeleteSo do you believe Anwar is not guilty of sodomy and it was not him with the China Doll?
Say it straight Dato.
You gained your following and admirers all these while for saying it straight about UMNO and BN.
So why can't you just say it now.
JoJo
Salam kampongman
ReplyDeleteFrom the way you write i know you are a fine distinguished gentleman. A retired top PTD official. My dad's age group. Should call you uncle
Yes Federal Hill, Guillemard, Bangsar, Damansara, kira-kira like what gangsters said our kawasan. Lol.
Great salubrious atmosphere.
Yeah know sons of aunty Arah and Uncle Sam (Samaruddin Rejab, his name i think)'.They have names like in Malay Lit eg Ribut, etc.
Yep one day we should meet. Bruno too, whi is also a fine man. I like this blog because we dont have uncouth Jinjang Joes. We agree to differ civilly.
But simehow i think i shoukd remain a mystery to Sak. Have coffee with him but never reveal our identity. Coincidential meeting, perhaps.
Nanti susah oulak nak kutuk dia during the election trail. Macam biadap pila. Tak hormat orang lebih matured and experienced. Note, saya tak guna word tua. Heehee.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteI am just getting riled up,my man.Just getting into form and getting ready to go into top form and the full 15 rounds. Now you say you met Sak before.I cannot hamtam you if you are a friend of Sak's you know.Got to give face to,bro.
So maybe you better go ask Sak or call up your old buddy Aspan and see whether they will kick your ass for having so much faith in the kankaroos or rather kakaroo courts and kangkaroo Gani.Do you know that kangkaroo Gani holds the title of the most corrupted AG in Malaysia.
Did you not remember the song in Aspan's blog 'katak bawah tempurong'.Maybe you are unaware of the happenings because the katak is you.Cheers and sleep easy, buddy.
Bruno,
ReplyDeleteAs i have said politics is not my cup of tea because i never need politicians to move and transform my life. I am self sufficient and my needs are little and limited. So you see i am fresh and not too bog down on politics like you Bruno, Nick,QD and the new DAP members Sak and Aspan may be.I too know i can trust the ruling Govt to manage this land despite all allegations .It might not be perfect and without issues and problems but it has been proven working especially with a good Pakatan opposition the check and balance work well too so far.So why change on a good working system.Look at our LK Siang he has been in an opposition and an opposition leader for most of his political career, now an advisor.
You never know may be with Sak and Aspan in DAP it can attract more good Malay members in.But i doubt it will change significantly. After all the Malays have many to choose from and not many of them can share DAP aspirations especially on Islam and those meritocracy crap for now. PAS and DAP ideological conflict is enough to scare simple dude like me. That is why i do not fear DAP at all.I have my own analysis and read views from both sides and have my own conclusion. PR can continue dreaming buddy.Thanks.
Sabri
ReplyDeleteTengoklah berapa lama kamu akan bersama-sama DAP mahupun PR.
SAK-47 another katak worse than Ibrahim Ali.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteLike my buddy QD said you are a distinguished gentleman, which I have to agreed. From the way you descriped yourself,I assumed that you are a top division government or retired government servant.
You are a slow, easy going person taking everything in its daily stride.Going on your daily business as everything around you is fine and dandy.Enjoying your retirement and pension and looking after the grandkids.
Everyone has a right to his or her own choice. That is our right even though some right wing ketuahnan Melayu people might not agree. But I beg to differ from your comments.
'As i have said politics is not my cup of tea because i never need politicians to move and transform my life.I am self sufficient and my needs are little and limited'.
Politics may not be your cup of tea but you are commenting about politics, and things connected to politics.Just because you are self sufficient and your needs are little and don't need politicians to transform your life, doesn't mean to say that the Umno/BN politicians can go on a looting rampage.
I can assure you that many if not all of the commentators here are self sufficient and do not need handouts from the politicians. That does not mean that they don't have to care that the corrupted Umno/BN have steered the country to the brink of bankruptcy.
Up till 12 years ago politics may not be ineverybody's minds. It is when elections are around that politics are in some people's minds. But times have changed,my friend. This is year 2012.Nowadays politics is in most people's minds.Bread and butter issues. The future of generations to come is at stake, and is an issue.
If everybody is hiding under the tempurong Umno/BN will be having a field day and fiesta every other day. Then there will be no Bersih 2.0.Bersih 2.0 is the awakening of the rakyat. Now ABU is the rallying call.Soon will come the rakyat's roaring 'F' steamroller.Have you heard of steamroller client no:9.
Kampong man, sometimes we have to disagree to agree.Cheers and take it easy, buddy.
Dato, any thoughts on guan eng serving his fourth term as sec gen?
ReplyDelete:)
QD,
ReplyDeleteSorry, i am a businessman (a professional Engineer)really owning my own Oil and Gas business for about 20 years and never been in the Gomen but kind of impressed really with the BN govt.I know Sak was in Shell so he cannot temberang me on the industry because it is my bread and butter and almost my entire working life in it.I see Sak sincerity and honesty and i always have high respect for MU economic graduates of Sak days .They have critical and analytical mind as you can see from Sak .
As for Bruno i think he is probably about your age if i can read his writing energy ha..haa...He is a resident writer in this blog kadang kadang ada bias sikit but ok.
Dont overestimate my age .These people i mentioned are friends i met during the student days while here as well as in the UK.Not telling you more before Bruno think i besar kepala but no i am just a normal kampong dude with urban mentality and harmless.I have no problem with our good buddy Bruno's political views and stand. He is a true and true PR person. What is important is all of us are consistent in our views and can continue contributing and articulating in a civilised manner.Anyway,if i still watch Bon Jovi, and watch live Rock cocerts and anything musical theatre and plays at Istana Budaya and enjoy fingerpicking on my Taylor and Martin Guitars i cannot be that old maa..
Oh yes,Anwar problems are not over yet so are the PR coalition probems.I dont understand why they have to call mamak kutty lah and all those funny names and badmouthing him just to win election.Tun contributions to Malaysia and the international world is remarkable and he is a true STATESMAN and that you cannot take it away from him.I think we all agree here we should just ignore Anwar. He has done too much damage to peaceful Malaysia .Have a good day.
So we are all agreed that we are one big diverse yet happy family. We all have our jobs, own money and do not need anyone to provide us a living.
ReplyDeleteWe are not here on anyone's behest. Just interested in our nation's future.
I have been here much, much longer than bruno. Nick is a mainstay of Aspan's blog. Lately he's been coming here after Sak's entry to his fave party,
Like Kampunman, i regard Mr, Sod as a peace disruptor. And knowing where we come from, of couse we are comfortable with UMNO.
P.s. Sorry for the typos in the last posting. My fingers are too big for I-pad.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteyour easy going tidak apa and pro-Umno/BN attitude has me to wrongly conclude that you were a 'gomen'(govt) servant.
By the way, resident writer or blogger is Sak.You and me are commenters.Because we are regulars, maybe dah upgrade to resident lah.Maybe boleh,if there is anything as resident, lah.Always lah and ah is Malaysian style, lah.
By the way congrats with your new and everlasting tagteam partner,QD.
Two Umno diehards in a tagteam and Sak pun kapala pusing, lah.
Bruno and QD,
ReplyDeleteSee both of you are wrong for gussing me being a Gomen servant. If i have more than 120 engineers and oil and gas tecnical personnel expatriate included answering to me and paid some of them a salary of 120k per month per person surely i cannot retire. You see Professional people like Doctors, Architect ( my wife is one),Accountants etc DON'T retire they DIED ! catch the drift Bruno .
Now i think the election may not be in March according to my kampong bomoh and my Bangsar Feng Shui master.I hope the election will be over soon because than i can tell Bruno again that most of his predictions are not correct.Jangan marah Bruno.See i am trasparent and straightforward.Still don't underdtand why PR people are too scared with TV1,2,3 and Utusan and main media. If i continue reading Harakah and Roket with no problem i think we must be open minded not like katak bawah tempurung.PR Bruno reminds me of EAGLE concert i watched in London on this song DESPERADO long long time ago.Bruno no offence ,just that the lyrics fits the PR state of affair, part of it at least. Will try and meet Aspan another good gentleman .Salam .
where r we going from here ? mianus ANALWAR HITRAHIM/ ooopsss !!! sorry !!! me myself is the atas pagar peeps//count me ini DATO / i deep my finger to the black ink/ count me in....ME NO PARTY PEOPLE/
ReplyDeleteSak/Kampung Man
ReplyDeleteLike my man, Kampung Man, said I too wish GE is held now. Roll on, please.
Najib is riding high now.
I want to see Anwar and his party wipe out in this GE. It's okay if DAP and PAS win some seats.
And I pray Sak will win, wherever he contests, especially in Raub.
If you see, the tourism old lady Ms Yen, is on a big media blitz right now. Recently launching taxi men ambassadors in Raub.
Sorry Bruno Barbossa, your dreams will not come true.
P.S. Remember what I said here and in Aspan's blog that Najib has his gentle persuasion to make Aunt Ijat quit.
So, she's now on a 3-week leave. Which means never to return.
UMNO has its way to rid people.
Kampong man,
ReplyDeleteYou must be a very lucky man to be able to pay your employees 120k a month.I only make peanuts a day, sitting watching the screen 14-18hrs a day at home. The last time I really make 120k a day was when cocoa futures went up 200 dollars a day. That was about 2 years ago.
Professional people like doctors, architect, accountants DON'T retire they DIED.I got the drift. They all must have died poor.No offense,if someone work till they just dropped dead,I have to assumed that they must have to died poor.
If you really do need a real fengshui master ask Joceline Tan of the Star newspaper tabloid. When the elections are over you will have to eat back every single word you uttered.Umno/BN will be licking their wounds the night of GE13.Just ask yourself why Umno is delaying and kept pushing back the elections. They are political chickens,penakut.Hahaha.
Kampong man, sometimes you acting creepy too.Must ask kampong bomoh and fengshui master to forecast a sure Umno/BN losing election. No personal confidence yourself, apa macham ini lah, kawan. You have not heard of ABU 'F' STEAMROLLER.
Quiet Despair,
ReplyDeleteIt will be sad if you will have to board the midnight flight to Zimbabwe with the Umnoputras on election night.May I suggest another alternative. How about the land of your birthright?Cheers.
Dato',
Lupa begitu saja.
Apabila buku Khalid Jafri(Allahyarham), 50 Dalil Kenapa Anuar Tak Boleh Jadi PM keluar, saya tak terkejut dengan dalil ke 10nya.
Jadi, pendapat saya, kes liwat 1 dan 2 memang Anuar terlibat.Sebab itulah diminta bersumpah laknat, tak nak.Dibebaskan atas faktor tenikal.
Kalaupun kecewa tak dapat jadi ahli EXCO Pahang jgnlah keluar UMNO, buruk sangat nampaknya.DAP pulak tu.Kalau PAS oklah jugak.
Kalau ada cita2 nak bertanding Parlimen Raub silalah. Mungkin disana ada ramai penyokong DAP tapi rasanya bukan Melayulah.Tengoklah apa yang Dato' dpt bila jadi ahli DAP.
Salam hormat,
Cicit UMNO.
Bro Sak
ReplyDeleteBagaimana rasanya menghadiri mesyuarat perwakilan Pakatan Rakyat?
Tentu bro and Aspan diberi penghormatan sebagai the latest members and prized catch.
Ceritalah sikit.Story us, buat kata orang sekarang.
Hebat ke the supreme leader? Having wings now that he's a free man. For the time being, that is.
Anwar, Sabu, Khalid, Azmin and others must be extra-vigilant from now on. The holiday mood presages but a lulling calm before the firestorm.
ReplyDeletePakatan tends to be a novice in the art of reading tangential insertions to influence mass opinion. An art that Umno has practiced in many preparations leading to victories in past general elections.
However there is a saving light. The rule of thumb is that anything in the MSM run by Umno lasts only for two weeks in the minds of its audience, and rehashing the propaganda only turns the audience off whereas anything in the alternative media gets reinforced seamlessly with each additional input or comment. Pakatan owns the worldspace of the alternative media, and should use it even more sharply from now on, quickly migrating each argument into the public pavement and kampung space.
Take this rapid announcement by Umno immediately after the court case that the judgement shows Umno is practising transformation. It of course implies that past judgements have been shaded by un-transformed factors. Implying a non-independent judiciary.
So if this time the judiciary is transformed, will there be a recall on the RCI findings on Lingam dan rakan-rakan? If yes, when? If no, why not?
For the same reason why Shahrizat is untouchable because she has hinted her case was of smaller magnitude than others in Umno, everything will be iced, mothballed and shelved because the same rule of thumb will be applied. Umno calculates people will forget. Just like nothing has been done on the MACC report of Taib on Najib's table in Putrajaya for months now which puts the lie to Umno's watch on incorruptible governance.
Did i not say Umno is a syndicate?
At this point, i would like to thank Anon 17.09/10 for the long list. It must have taken effort to assemble and equally painful to read for all who care about Malaysia and her peoples. It is a list that Pakatan can amplify and expand, and use in concert with photo's on the lifestyle and assets of Umno's bigwigs. Remember, Shahrizat was just an ikan billi in the Umno pond of ill-gotten wealth. All that money is from the rakyat, state and institutions. None of them is capable of working to earn such ill-gotten gains.
Don't believe me? Ask Umno to declare assets. Ask Umno to publicly announce that corruption means sacking. If Penang and Pakatan can do so, why can't Umno if it is against corruption? You already know the answer inasmuch you know why nothing was done for years on corruption at the borders which has caused subsidy losses on petrol amounting to millions of the rakyats' money.
Still sceptical? Go to the Dome at Bangsar and watch how Umno weighs deals on hot afternoons. The portentous looks on the faces try to project only the power of position but end up only showing an absence of honesty that realizes any under-table money ultimately comes from the rakyat, for each position carries the weighty responsibility of discharging trust given for state money to be spent for the rakyat and country, not for another holiday for the soft ones sitting in the adjacent chairs, observing the deal-making.

ReplyDeleteThat's why when people living in those places say the Umno government has a good working system so why change it, you would wonder their simple minds despite high education and position in the corporate world are really so simple that they can ignore the items of the list. If even with that list the system is good and working, one wonders how bad the list will have to be if the system is not good and working.
All i see is denial, not honest intelligence, not even an educated mind, and certainly not with a genuine concern for the state of affairs of the country which has only enabled personal success but at a horrendous price to all others.
If upon such we depend for the revival of our Malay race, mampus sekaligus.
I am still in a combative mood for having tried in past weeks to rally world concern for our Iranian brothers about to be decimated as another Iraq.
So, next. Someone has vigorously spoken on the need for national unity through a one-school system. You would read what was written with more than cursory interest if you didn't know in advance he was using a new addy for having in the past showed an utter lack of respect for the other communities. The real agenda was to attack DAP and since it appears the only item in the DAP armor was made out to be vernacular education, thus the one-school system rationale for national unity.
Yet we have already discussed this topic to death.
First, Tun Dr Ismail. How many people know that he lost his cool during one cabinet meeting when he found out that the Yakcob/Arshad combination in the MOE then had arbitrarily reset the passing marks for school certificate Malay Language resulting in thousands of top students getting only a partial certificate despite scoring strings of A's in other papers?
Even back then there was already Malay rightwing group in the mould of Syed Albar's veins inside the Umno government which was subverting the more moderate education policies of some Cabinet ministers. Of the same party!
Can the rakyat therefore be blamed for referring back to the federal constitution which provides for vernacular education as a basic right of national citizenship?
Is that someone therefore auto-suggesting that the federal constitution be changed so that this right to education in the mother tongues be abolished?
Second, our Malay language is a beautiful and defensible medium of communication, cultural identity in fact. This no one should dispute. But unfortunately it does not lead to knowledge. And if our rakyat, especially our Malays, want to survive in the new world, knowledge is paramount. Besides, with knowledge you can get a crack at critical thinking. Something sorely lacking even amongst those who like to portray themselves as well-heeled and educated.
Next, let's for argument sake accept that national unity through education is critical. If say Mandarin or English is the more relevant means to knowledge and global interaction then, wouldn't national unity be better served, for our Malay students to enroll in say Chinese vernacular schools, or English-medium colleges as our Mara administration has been quietly doing? You get not only national unity but also knowledge.
Unless we are saying national unity can only be achieved in a Malay medium school? Which points to assimilation, not integration, which means Malay supremacy, not racial equality - a complete contradiction of the spirit espoused, therefore punctured. What exactly has our Malays as typified by Umno so far done for our non-Malay citizens to earn that honour?
3/3
ReplyDeleteNow, doesn't all that relive the same anxiety that even Tun Dr Ismail must have felt all those years back then, to be waylaid and sabotaged by his own party underlings in government?
In the face of such an unbroken train of specious policy dishonesty, how are we to expect our non-Malay rakyat not to send their children to their own vernacular schools whose education systems also seem to be more focused on full-force education and not the party-time atmosphere of waiting for temporary teachers because people in the MOE have only been too busy trying to climb up their Umno food-chain to be bothered about simple things like planning for teacher allocations despite fifty years of student population projections?
Will anyone therefore be surprised when even our own Malay parents send their children to vernacular schools which until lately have been denied equity in funds distribution despite demand from naturally growing populations? Those children are going to do better than those who have gone through the ineluctably BTN-propelled ellesian system. If one can call it a system.
In fact, just the other day a parent wrote in to ask that one PPSMI school please provide texts in english because it seems the MOE officials have directed the school not to do so.
All this nonsense is still going on. Just as you won't be anytime expecting Najib to tighten his balls and say stop it on corruption in his Umno, you shouldn;t be anytime expecting that cow from Pagoh to moo the right notes. Bray, maybe.
Paham', tak?
Next year this time, do we all honestly want to continue writing like this, feeling pain and anger, anxiety and worry for the young and this country?
That list is just the tip of the iceberg - you knew that, didn't you? Just as Felda families are disintegrating socially, there are more things under the woodwork which will anger more of our Malays to make that massive swing in voter sentiments and change the government after GE13.
It remains for me to salute the stand of both Sakmongkol and Aspan. When i first started writing comments in this blog, i was mindful that Sak was an Umno man. I respected his stand but i respected even more the quality of his critical thinking on issues of national importance. Today he has changed his platform but without changing his principles and those of Aspan in defending good governance. I have said politics only provide platforms. The principles of good governance are what matter the most, over and above partisanship and the shallow loyalty of people who have benefited without conscience from dispensations out of the rakyat money.
You see, only when there is good incorruptible governance will any Malay agenda be defensible that will supplement and complement national progress involving all to the exclusion of none.
walla.
Sak, don't let this blog be a forum between Kampong Man and QD. This two are bebal, die hard fans of a corrupted party.Period.
ReplyDeletewalla...
ReplyDeletewhat a good long writing..

I would see anwar for the man he is, brave tough sob who went thru sit none of would ever imagine surviving and came back kicking ass. Half of us here whacking him a questionable character are benchwarmer self satisfied blogger who has done very little of significance to the change that we are seeing today. Nothing people say he did has ever been proven. Why keep dragging his name thru mud. He is 60+ he has been poisoned before, his time might be soon enough. If he goes before we can ask for his forgiveness then how? Please even if u dont trust him stop hurting him and his family. He might be a politician but he is a human being just like u and me.

Cepatnya Melayu mudah lupa ! Just a few months back, when Sak was still an Umno man, QD requested the very same thing, asking Sak to ban comments from diehard PR supporters ! Irony kan ?
Both side of the political divide sama sama je - all these diehardists whether from Umno or PR should be the first to terjun down to the deepest ravine to give a chance for the rest of us malaysians to live in peace.
Dear Sak,
ReplyDeletePlease could you align your thoughts into each paragraph containing four to five sentences max, some even two sentences for max clarity and effectiveness, to enable us to retrieve and manage our thoughts from our mind-map,
that way to reach your readers more effectively ..
All the best Sak, Cheers.
walla,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fine writing with sincere concern for the Rakyat, struggling over many bread and butter issues.
Quote, "not for another holiday for the soft ones sitting in the adjacent chairs, observing the deal-making. - Jan 15 " This certainly stir up fury.
The consolation is this, perhaps, easy money falling on their laps and " soft ones sitting in adjacent chairs" or on their laps for obscenity are trophies without substance will be discarded with their cosmetic and botoxed "dignity "
if there is any dignity left for enslaving the 99 percent Rakyat.
this is no nation on earth whereby a day goes by without a few gross mismanagement and more abuse of public fund and trust piling up to the stratosphere ! And condoned, accepted, allowed to breed as their culture and getting off scot free !
Thank you Sak for your fine column. Roll on with GE 13 looming.
