Tengku Razaleigh and Galas

Tengku Razaleigh is suddenly placed on a pedestal. Otherwise this PM we never had, lives like a hermit in Langkak Golf. He is ignored by the UMNO big bosses. Of use only when expediency dictates it.

Take Muhyidin for example. Muhyidin was extra friendly with him at one time because MUhyidin wanted him to challenge Pak Lah. Muhyidin prodded Razaleigh on, scaring the diffident Najib into action. Once the game was afoot, Muhyidn was behind Najib.

At his abode, he receives visitors regularly. Even UMNO people too. But UMNO people have this habit of coming like invisible men- afraid of prying eyes. Afraid to be seen with this much respected politician. Should he rise to the occasion, these people will gravitate towards hims like moths to flame.

His name has now become current all because of Galas, a state constituency in his Gua Musang seat. The DPM calls him and invited him to become the Operations Director of the Galas by election. This task is usually undertaken by the DPM with assistance from the Ketua Perhubungan Negeri. In the case of Kelantan- the man with the personality of a lamp post straddling the roads in Gua Musang, Mustafa Mohamad.

So Galas to Tengku Razaleigh will become, the proverbial, you swallow, father will die, you regurgitate, mother dies.

UMNO has never learn to treat its seniors civilly or politely. Imagine this. If UMNO doesn't win Galas, people will say, it's because TRH hasn't done a good joib. He has no influence. Or even worse, TRH will be accused as the enemy under the blanket. If UMNO wins, it's the effort of many, not TRH. Success has got many fathers, failure is an orphan.

I think it's the Kelantan Perhubungan Negeri's call. This will be a barometer whether the UMNO Negeri has carried out ground work in the interim. If it loses, it will also explode the myth and empty promises by Kelantan leaders, that they are ready to re take Kelantan.

TRH does not have to prove anything in Galas.

Indeed, I would suggest that UMNO stand aside to give PAS a walkover in the name of Malay unity. The reason is this: it can show the other non Malay components in BN, that UMNO can and is willing to unite for a common cause. Which is Malay unity. If PAS plays along, UMNO's decision will have the effect of creating mistrust in PR's camp. Lets hasten the anarchy within the opposition.

  2. We have two choices ... get Malay unity through PAS/UMNO as those in UMNO wants it... it destroys the country.

Get Malaysian unity.. we avoid our daughters joining Phillipines, Indonesia overseas to work and our best going overseas as is happening right now on lower scale.

Can anyone imagine, if lets say the hypothical case of 60% Malay one camp and 40% of non Malays the other camp. I say imagine only although it will never happen.

The Malays under Perkasa implements what they want and interpret the article 153 the way they want ... everything (not special only).

You think the non Malays will sit still?

Let's say the non Malays responds peacefully. What can they do?

Well it happened in Indonesia....the mass migration of Chinese/Indian wealth/talents overseas until the Indonesia was in dire situation. Now they know. But do we know?

Malaysia will collapse economically and politically. That is a certainty.

Yes, guys like Ibrahim Alis will cheer with triumph ... having 67% or 90% of Zimbabwe kind of economy where you need 1 trillion ringgit to buy a bread. It hurts the business community less because they can always raise their prices.
The main losers will be the workers and civil servants earning fixed income.

Those who had migrated still earn US/Singapore dollars etc.

We have to remember, the health of the country depends on the business class NOT the working class.

So, should we go Malaysian way or Malay/Chinese/Indians/Ibans separate ways?

    Think about it.

These talks about one race unity is really silly and bad. It should be Malaysian unity.

  3. salam, setuju dgn tuan. Kalau BeeNd kalah, TRH akan terarah jari telunjuk. Kalau BeNd menang kerana kebijaksaan Muhyidin beri jawatan pengarah piliharaya pada TRH.

  4. Dato,

You seriously think UMNO would concede a walkover to PAS ? I think they would rather keep the Wang Ehsan. Also TDM and IA would be laughing all the way and say it confirms that UMNO has lost the Malay vote. Tak jadilah Dato.

  5. "Success has got many fathers, failure is an orphan".

When UMNO/BN did badly in GE 2008, AAB became an orphan. There is no collective responsibility in UMNO. Only the head was forced to resign. Many of his hopeless cabinet ministers and division heads are still around.

Malaysian politics will never allow the clean and the best of the best to rise. This is because the system in UMNO breeds mediocrity. It was started by TDM...the Patronage System...and now being continued bt Najib.

Brains/ideas does not talk. Money talks. And leaders are chosen by tender system. Winners are those who can offer the highest bid. The end result? A failed nation in the making.

If I were Ku Li, I will decline the offer to lead the by-election. Whatever the outcome, Ku Li will not be appreciated. He is a talented and capable politician but sadly UMNO does not recognise capability and people with brains.

Btw, it is Langgak Golf not Langkak Golf.

  6. Dato', it will not hasten the anarchy within PAKATAN. TGNA akan sembahyang sunat sukur and the rest of the PAKATAN wariors will trumpet the UMNO walkover as another chicken.
Lawan sahaja lah... walaupun tahu akan kalah. At least can confirm the current status of Malay support though we know many dislike the current PM.
    Salam Dato'

  7. Dear Sakmongkol

“If PAS plays along, UMNO's decision will have the effect of creating mistrust in PR's camp. Let’s hasten the anarchy within the opposition”.

Eh, Sakmongkol the liberal economist and anti-crony watchdog can be quite Machiavellian.

Well, if UNMO concedes the seat to PAS, PR would cheer, not dissolve in anarchy as you predict, because they know it’s a fight UMNO would rather avoid. So this “Malay unity” is a good way to save face. But I would prefer a fight so the people can better judge the relative strengths of both parties for the hearts of the Malays, and it would give lots of airtime to the debate on 1Malaysia, the NEM and ETP.

As for Ku Li, he simply should extend his trip to Europe and only return at the last possible moment to avoid being trapped in this no-win situation for him personally.

  8. If TR takes the job and win, it is not the true barometer of UMNO's success.

It's the success of TR. But the shameless UMNO leaders at the top will claim that it is UMNO's success and has nothing to do with TR.

Buatlah apa yang terbaik Tengku. UMNO ini memang parti untuk hantu dan syaitan.

  9. Dato' Sak,
You said it plain and simple for everyone to see. I hope the UMNO bosses will take heed of your advice. Take the wind out of PR's sail by giving PAS a walkover and save the people lots of money. Anyway those people in Galas still deserve the goodies that often come with a by-election. Not many goodies has come their way for a long long time and this is a good time to give them something.

  10. "Lets hasten the anarchy within the opposition."
A good post devalued by this last sentence! BN is also in anarchy.

Kuli must take an oversea's trip on "an important personal" mission and let the DPM do what he ought to do.
After all it's his duty. Why ride on Kuli's popularity.
I don't remember a divisional leader being ever appointed Operations Director.
Kuli has been 'cheated' so many times by UMNO. And now again?
Once bitten twice shy, thrice bitten go and die.

    Kuli must reject this appointment.

  11. Hi bro Sak

Damn good one. My thoughts exactly when I saw Muhyiddin making that statement on TV.
Itulah UMNO kita, saudara. Gunakan orang bila perlu. Lepas itu simpan. Manala tau nak pakai lagi.
Of course Ku Li is very much aware of it. But you must remember he is too much a prince to enunciate how he feels to the UMNO top guns.
Muhyiddin has surrendered before entering the battle field. Very convenient.
Tapi lawan tetap lawan. Nanti oghe Kelante kecek mu UMNO bacul dou kali.
Muhyiddin Tok Sei jadi Ketuo kempen. UMNO tok sei letak calon.
Is it to finish off Ku Li??? If you see the last election results his majority has diminished.
You are so right. If it's a win, everyone claims victory. But if If it's a loss, its Ku Li's funeral.
I hope they choose a small fry as a symbol to give Kelantan a walk-over without losing face.
A fish-monger can win compared to a PTD officer in Nik Aziz country.

  12. Sakmongkol, this by election will be very interesting if Ku Li is the UMNO candidate with Kaki Lompat Ibrahim Ali representing Perkasa together with Sallehuddin Ayob repesenting PAS and fellow Blogger Syed Azidi Kickdefella contesting as Calon BEBAS as suggested by Rocky.

  13. Kelantan UMNO Youth wants Ku Li to contest. And Muhyiddin is agreeable to it if KuLi agrees.
What do you make of this?
Say if Ku Li contest and he wins, what is in store fr him?
The way I see it he will just a kuli bataklah. Jadi MP, Jadi Adun. That's it.
If he can get the Kelantan people to oust PAS in the coming GE and UMNO wins, at least he can become MB.If they give him GALAS in the soon-t-o-be-held GE.
I hope so but that I think is wishful thinking. PAS will still be the party of choice.
What if he contest and lost, that will be the end of him. No more MP, no more DUN.
Either way, he's caught in a bind.
I think UMNO is unsure of winning, that explains the desperado measure.
The fact that Muhyiddin is not BN election campaign is enough capital for PAS.
And Nasharuddin has said UMNO or PAS have no edge even if Ku Li is the campaign boss.
    What really is he saying???
It it is just a stop-gap way to fill the DUN seat.
I agree with you just give PAS the walk-over since GE is coming near.
How long can the DUN serve? 1 year or less only. Sheer waste of money!

  14. Dato,

The party which prevented TRH from being eligible to contest the President's post is now offering him to contest just a State Assembly seat.

I wonder whether the Oracle of Syed Putra can offer you some valuable views on this matter.

  15. UMNO gives a walkover to PAS in the name of Malay unity???

    That's a new one.

The reason is simple: UMNO CANNOT win in Galas, that's the word on the ground .

NonEtheless, the walkover is Not a bad idea... that should be adopted for ALL Malay-majority seats for the coming election.

Will PAS say thank you to UMNO??

Don't bet on it!!! Because PAS still needs NON Malay votes in the urban seats especially in the Klang Valley.

Furthermore, PAS needs NON Malay votes to win Federal Govt. Once non Malays feel that PAS is in bed with UMNO, there will be non Malay desertion from PAS in droves.

Good, try Dato Sak, but that is no brainer, if you talk to any PAS supporter.

  16. If Ku LI takes the job as Operations Director for the Galas campaign for UMNO, it is a poison chalice.

Galas is a no-winner for UMNO based on internal polls. As you rightly said, UMNO will blame Ku LI and it is one way of diminishing Ku Li by his detractors in UMNO, especially Muhyiddin.

For all you know, the idea of asking Ku Li to head the Galas campaign came from Mahathir to Muhyiddin since Mahathir has an axe to grind with Ku Li.

It is absolutely stupid of Ku Li to accept the job.

It is a set-up by Muhyiddin to diminish Ku Li further within UMNO

  17. Having met TRH 4 times in private, I tend to agree with Dato Sak.

Yes, TRH should reject the offer.
    Kalau menang pun, takde imbohan.

    Perkasa should contest instead.
If Perkasa wins, Putrajaya will be next.

    Lets rumble.

  18. Maybe on the brighter side, if Razaleigh will to take the job in Galas and as a result UMNO won handsomely, then maybe it's time to throw out the anti-1Malaysia Muhyidin to wilderness. That'll also end Mamak's plan to use Muhyidin to sabotage Najib.

It kills 2 birds with 1 stone and the rakyat wholeheartedly will agree as long as we see the Mamak being demise forever.

  19. RPK said " My final word to Zaid is this. Get out of PKR. Forget about contesting the party elections. Leave and come help us lead the Third Force. Let the Third Force make an electoral pact with any of the 20 or so political parties from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat that may be prepared to make an electoral pact with us."

Well said, RPK... but i do not think Zaid is the right person, Tok Him is more independent minded.

    PERKASA, the 3rd Force Solution.

  20. Bro,
Imagine what Tun Mahathir went through after retirement?
Do you remember what Tun Dol and geng did to Tun Mahathir?

What Kuli's got now is nothing.
Completely nothing compared to Tun Mahathir.

  22. Let Galas voters decide on Nov 4. Talk to much also no good maaa..We knew that since Galas was under PAS the people in Galas remain the same..poor and jobless. Their lands were taken away. Foreign companies earned the profit..squatters scattered around..MB Kelantan never pay a single visit..neither the former wakil rakyat..Let's give a chance to BN to lead since PAS failed to comply their promises. As a voter..I openly declare myself to vote for BN..Is there anybody to question my rights?
