Nike has JUST DO IT! UMNO has Just DU-IT.
On many occasions, I needed only a chance or casual remark to write an article. This article is one of them. it was a chance remark by that remarkable brain box, Walla.
After being on the ground at Hulu Selangor, I did write that I believed UMNO/BN will win this by election. I added however, this victory will leave a bitter and unpleasant aftertaste. Here is why I think so.
Who doesn't want to win? Victory is all the more important, more so, when the PM regarded this by election as a referendum to his leadership and his vision of creating 1 Malaysia. It is also a verdict on his resolve in implementing a new economic model and transformation of government and all that. UMNO/BN simply had to win this election at all costs.
All of us are familiar with the sports shoes- Nike (pronounced Naiki). The shoes are produced by Nike, the company founded by Phillip Knight and his coach Billy Bowerman. The trademark of the company with the swoosh logo, is Just Do It.
Just Do It represents the core spirit of Nike. It explains why the company isn't long on nebulous ideals and catchphrases- all they want is to get on with it, plough along and correct any mistakes while on the way.
UMNO, the present one, the one reformed by Dr Mahathir with his membership being at number 1, also has its trademark similar to Nike. It is Just Du-It. Just duit. This can't be the old UMNO. This UMNO doesn't list Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Razak, Jaafar Albar, Dato Harun Idris, Tun Dr Islmail as members. So, it can't be. This UMNO is Dr. Mahathir's UMNO.
It's the conduct of UMNO in winning elections. We are fast being normalized in seeing the PM, leader of this country and leader of UMNO gong around dishing out cash here and there; here RM3 million for a Chinese School, there a few million for some outstanding promises. The only way UMNO seems to be able to win is by using money. In this Hulu Selangor election, it spent more than RM100 million. Expressway, universities, roads, hard cash, development projects etc. It was a feeding frenzy.
We have the UMNO president, bowl in hand, appealing to FELDA settlers to give him a chance. Here- take this money, give me a chance and there will be plenty of this where it came from. What has it done to UMNO?
Here we have our party president with money in hand persuading commercially opportunistic Chinese to vote for BN. There we have our president promising the world to Malaysian Indians. Everywhere, we have our president appealing help from Malaysian Malays who are expected to have a natural inclination to UMNO but who now have to be induced by cash.
It has reduced UMNO to a mechanical being devoid of its soul.
Where is UMNO's soul? May I remind UMNO members, that the soul of UMNO is expressed clearly in Fasal 3 of UMNO's Constitution:
Did we win allegiance, respect and goodwill by leveraging on these principles? UMNO people hardly talked about these nowadays. They are focused on wining by the mechanical way- spending their way though.
This is disturbing to me and all right thinking UMNO members. I hope the UMNO president, vice presidents, read this. If UMNO's victory is now predicated and dependent on the amount of largesse and money it can dish out to voters, then there is something terribly wrong with UMNO.
Instead of winning the hearts and minds of the people on its principles of struggles, mission and purpose for which UMNO was formed in 1946, it is now actually just a company doing business. Its relevance and legitimacy being is now measured by how much it captures market segment by spending to secure it. It's no longer appealing to the rakyat on the values that it preaches. The way UMNO wins an election is how it conducts its party elections.
Winners just buy their way through.
Cynical lah Dato'.. Is it because your earlier prediction that BN will be defeated was wrong.?
ReplyDeleteThe rakyat want changes and they want changes it fast , not tomorrow..
Do they care to listen for 1 to 2 hours of talks by opposition or BN with all the promises , rhetorics, fitnah ? At the end of the day, those that believe can deliver will get their votes.
The Chinese enjoyed big makan, get big donation but yet majority of them still vote for the opposition.
PAS/PKR campaign got soul ke Dato? Lagi banyak fitnah, good for your entertainment. I do not care if any campaign got no soul as long they deliver the required votes and win the election.
anon 07:01
ReplyDeleteup to you. if you are not disturbed about this, its ok. i am expessing my concern as an UMNO member. can UMNO sustain itself this way?
i am not talking about the opposition parties. not my concern.
the things you mentioned are best done by a govt dept/welfare dept than a political party
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dismissed claims that Barisan Nasional was involved in buying votes to win Sunday's Hulu Selangor by-election. "We didn't buy votes but we solve people's problems. Those are genuine problems which have not been addressed for some time," he said of the RM167mil spent on projects.
ReplyDeleteDS Najib, the rakyat is not stupid, when you only decreed this during a buy election isn't it vote buying. When the Felda settlers got their compensation after 15 years, all this while they are asking for their money no body cares. It solves rakyat problem but it came too late. You know the value of money 15 years ago and now. Some of them already dead waiting for the money.
DS Najib, winning is one thing, but winning with dignity is the want that rakyat wants.
Dato'
ReplyDeleteComing from Hulu Selangor and was there throughout the week, surely something of concern the way UMNO tried to win the election- it is money and money and I believe you!!!
It is very disturbing and it is going to be very difficult to undo the trend.
The people will only change if the UMNO leaderships have the political will and they must lead the changes or otherwise, it is so sorry that "jika di takdirkan ALLAH, Umno hilang kuasa" then the party will have to suffer because of their own doing!!!
So do UMNO has the exit strategy? UMNO President and UMNO MT must start looking for one or time will tell whether they can sustain and survive.
"Mungkin mimpi ngeri" for the future UMNO members or they simply don't care!!! Only you care and to be franked, many people are happy that BN won but the writing is on the wall as can the same splashing be done during GE!!! Kalah semua kot Tok... macam mana nak bantu weh!!!
Yes...yes..yes.. to anon 07:30, Najib sebenarnya menipu, duit yang dia beri sebenarnya memang duit peneroka felda. Nak duit, kena undi... dia pandai, tak bayar semua sekali gus, next election baru bayar lagi sebahagian. Siapa kena tipu?? Hehehe... takpe, biaqpi la Sakmongkol nak bohong pulak.. kita pakat gelak2 jerr... lagi pun dengan duit tu, dapat la orang felda tu bernafas sikit. Macam biasa "Melayu selalu lupa" tipu jer mamat melayu tu depan mata. Idup2 dia percaya. Hehehee... nasihat saya.. kalau u ada ilmu yang boleh tolong negara, jual saja ilmu tu keluar negara..
ReplyDelete...adioss....
Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteIs UMNO really interested in saving their own race? My mother is a headmistress in a primary school. She told me that the headmaster/mistress took bribe. Because of bribery, Malay school(other) is poorly funded. Maybe we need to get rid of UMNO to save the country and your race too. It's sad that even school bribery exist!

ReplyDeletesuper kewl phrase
Umno's Constitution sounds like Perkasa's battlecry. Are you saying Umno should emulate Perkasa, Datuk?
ReplyDeletePerkasa has arrived!!!
Even you find it hard to reconcile Umno's core constitution with Perkasa's justification to exist. They are both the same.
09:43
ReplyDeleteyou mean, ibrahim ali can think of a constitution? wow! wow! i say that again to make it 3 times- wow
Dato'
ReplyDeleteAn excellent and thought provoking piece of article.
The love of money is the root of all evils.
Is UMNO encouraging the voters to do just that ?
'Just Du-It'
JUST DU-IT! Good one. LOL...
ReplyDeleteDatuk, what has Mahathir's UMNO done to our country? To its education system. I am going to lose a daughter and son-in-law to Singapore. Why - children's education and the political situation. We just no longer have any faith in Malaysia's schools except the SJK(C). We no longer have faith in UMNO's elected leaders. Can you help to repair the damage? How about standing for election against Najis next election?
ReplyDeleteSalam Dato',

I am a Malaysian deeply concerned that our leaders are legitimising bribery.
ReplyDeleteAre they not ashamed, endorsing a culture that is among the lowliest in the hierarchy of human indecencies?
Giving the nod to such short-term gains is like building the foundation to a most corrupt society. Yet, our nation's supremo is so shortsighted. He ought to realize the long-term damage done to Malaysians in general. We have had enough done by another leader to last us a lifetime. DS Najib and all the rest entrusted to run this ountry must realize that it's not just UMNO's playbook that he needs to play by. There are others too in the team, even if they play for the other side.
He shows so little respect for the nation's collective intelligence and sense of decency. "It's not bribery," says he when he knows even his own mother does not believe it.
And Tengku Adnan after years of silence since VK Lingam's affair comes up to justify the foul deed by saying that he saw the other side doing it by giving rice and RM200 to each voter. BTW, we are still waiting to hear you challenge the allegation about the veracity of your royal status, amongst many others involving corruption, ku! What? You think we have IQs like yours? The time for such peurile politicking is long gonelah. Dumbo!
After spending more than RM100 million this is what UMNO-BN obtained.
ReplyDeleteLast Sunday's results as follows:-
BN : 24,997 votes : 51%
PR : 23,272 votes : 47.5%
Spoilt : 731 votes : 1.5%
Majority: BN over PR : 1725
Results of 2008 elections for the state seats as follows:-
BN : 26,264 votes : 55.1%
PR : 20,088 votes : 42.2%
Spoilt : 1,271 votes : 2.7%
Majority: BN over PR : 6176
After that show of vulgar extravagance:-
BN's votes actually decreased 4.1% from 2008's 55.1% to 51%.
PR's votes increased 5.3% from 2008's 42.2% to 47.5%
BN's majority over PR DECREASED from 6176 (2008) to 1725 (Last Sunday)
NOTE:-
I am comparing with the results for the STATE seats because comparing with the results of the PARLIAMENTARY seat where Palanivel lost is not realistic. The results for the parliamentary seat was an aberration. Many BN supporters who voted BN for state seats either abstained (spoiled their votes) or voted for PR in the parliamentary seat because they cannot stand that Palanivel fellow. If BN had fielded someone other than Palanivel, almost certainly BN would also have won the parliamentary seat. This was precisely why, for this by-election, from the beginning Palanivel was not in the picture. Of course MIC put on a good "wayang" when they proposed Palanivel as it's SOLE candidate.
i didn't get the first just du-it. after it was combine, it became very clear about 'money'.
ReplyDeletethese are the peoples money. What these voters get is their own money!! which they have paid for taxes etc.
Well, they just don't realize this.
Dato
ReplyDeleteSatu Old Malaya dan 1 Malaysia Boleh are aware of the Just Duit Tagline.Only those in a state of denial will choose to to be ignorant.
BN won because of The DUIT.They will continue to win because of DUIT.They live for DUIT.They serve the DUIT
They dont give a damn about what the rakyat 1 Malaysia think or feel. They only feel The DUIT.
APa nak buat? Nuthing much actually. You got to live with it until you go 6 feet under.Thats a fact.Thats because only DUIT matters.
Lets change the tagline a bit, no more Malaysia Boleh, it should be aptly changed to DUIT BOLEH!
Peace be upon you dato.
Dato SAK47
ReplyDeleteThe dust of HS should be allowed to settle. No amount of post mortems is going to change the results. DSN and UMNO paid a lot of money to partly "redeem" the face they lost during the GE12.
The real issue for DSN now is to change UMNO since he can use HS to say he is recoverying lost ground for UMNO and the only way to do it is by the real 1Malaysia campaign!
Maybe I am idealistic but if DSN doesn's sieze the opportunity to cut or downsize his enemies in UMNO now, given his awesome powers under the UMNO constitution and his position as the PM of the country. He must change UMNO and on this point I am with you. the point of the clauses of the UMNO constitution are quite clearly national and the concept of "Bangsa Malaysia" in the constitution must be integrated into his 1Malaysia campaign.
Bukan cintakan Du-It semata-mata.
ReplyDeleteRefreshing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAs a observer, honestly, I think you are looking at a lost cause, and you know it deep down too. Your party is too broken to be repaired. Might as well start all over again.

ReplyDeleteA very expensive rate per vote, using our Tax $$$ at the HS Buy-Election....
With more Buy-Elections to come at that Rate per vote...this nation will be "Bankrupt" in no time!
Presently are there any Honourable, Honest, Sincere Leaders amongst them....?
Do our UMNO/BN Leaders, Mini Napoleons, etc understand the meaning of "SHAME" when they are prepared to sell themselves, their families, abuse/destroy our Original Constitution, their religion, their race, our nation & citizens for $$$ including the Stealing of this nation's & its citizen's Wealth ?
Well, what's next in their "Alternative Provocation Tactics" of Gutter Politics & their Law of the Jungle which can only be found in their UMNO/BN Holy Book...
What goes round will come around for UMNO/BN...
Yes, they are already "Trapped" in their own "Jaguh Kampung Ketuanan Political Game" with our Tax $$$, but still not achieving any "Sincere Long Term Credibility" & with no signs of any Political Will" to do so.
Malaysia badly needs “Role Model” established Leaders & Politicians of HONOUR with Calibre, Maturity & Tolerance without Fear or Favour on both sides of the Political divide & NOT Political OPPORTUNISTS...
Further this nation Desperately needs Intelligent, Time Proven Pragmatic Successful modelled, Financial, Economic, Politiical & Social “SOLUTIONS” NOW on BOTH sides of the Political Divide.
To "Rebuild" the Creditability & Standing of the Government & Nation both at home & Internationally.
Do the UMNO/BN Leaders have the Political Will to match those "Criterias & Accountability" at home & Internationally?
Cheers.
For UMNO to return to old ways of doing things, an overhaul to hearts and minds of its members is needed.
ReplyDeleteFor sure when we mean overhaul, the whole hierarchy of UMNO's leadership need to be replaced by someone who hold dear to his heart the principles of UMNO of the old.
We need a leadership to inspire its members to reform and to return to old ways of doing things.
Maybe Dato Sak can be the one. Dato Sak should step up and speak up.
Like you, I am nostalgic for the old UMNO -- the old UMNO that was destroyed by the son of Sikander Kutty. There are still some UMNO members who are morally forthright. I wish there were more people like you. But it looks like you are a dying breed. As the days go by, the more I see the future of Malaysia, the less I see UMNO playing a major role in it. Indeed, by a/l Sikander Kutty's Wawasan year, 2020, UMNO could probably be struggling to survive, if not dead and gone. Sad, but true.
ReplyDeleteYou supported KJ. You are an ADUN during TDM's UMNO. I wouldnt be surprise you write for money.
ReplyDeleteWhy question?
dato, money in politics go hand in hand. CRIME DOES NOT PAY...AS WELL AS POLITICS. lol
ReplyDeleteId like to hear your views on opening umno up as a multiracial party....ive mooted the idea b4 to some loyalists but i get the same answer everytime....and its always the thought of being outperformed by other races....which to me is PONDAN!
im a malay mind you, ive also come across soft discrimination in my IPTS b4.
The HS result tell us that people vote for party, not the individual. Becuz if the credentials of an individual matters, then the BN candidate who runs his campaign by refusing to answer questions should not win. Becuz BN has the big bucks to give out, people choose to stay on the side of money...
ReplyDeleteIf the voters vote in parties, then it makes sense to hve anti hopping rules so that we don live amongst frogs.
As for the chinese electorates, real degil right? The chinese vote for change, vote for long term lasting change... we don need BN to give us a fish at every by-election, but we want the economy, education, social, security and the whole works to change for the betterment of everyone. Watch out, BN, while helping out at Kerling, even some indians are saying that... So the Indian Fixed Deposits may not be around for much longer.
BN or PR, it matters not... my dream is that we will hve politicians who work for the good of the nation.... who will manage our economy, build a bright future for all our children, whether ibans, malay, indian or chinese.... We are sick of the corruption and excesses that has been going on for too long... We can also see that, if nothing changes, we will become a bankrupt nation becuz the oil well will run dry one day, and the talent pool of the nation has not kept up with the times... What will happen then huh??
Dear Dato
ReplyDeleteYes. PR has lost. We lost with dignity. We may have lost this battle but rest assured, we will not give up and we will continue to fight UMNO till the end. We will let the rakyat know that ultimately, that UMNO and corruption will destroy this country. UMNO will and continue to buy vote but I wonder for how many more years. If UMNO members can't even see what is plaguing BN as a whole, that means UMNO members are in agreement and support corruption at all costs as long as they can stay in power.
Salam Dato',
ReplyDeleteSaya teringat komen seorang penulis,
"Peranan dan tanggung jawab pemimpin Melayu terhadap bangsanya hanyalah tanggung jawab mengekalkan kuasa, bukan mencerdikkan bangsa."
Selagi UMNO tidak berubah (forgets mampu or mahu), kesannya akan dilihat pada masa akan datang.
~Orang Jerantut~
Yes Dato...DU...IT. And I quote :
ReplyDelete"If we win this by-election, you can come to Kuala Lumpur the next day to look for me. I will write a personal letter to approve the money and it will be transferred to the school board's account. If we lose, don't have to come." - Najib Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia
Win at all costs? Holding the rakyat to ransom? "Prostitutionization" of education? Is this alright or shameful? Bolehkah matlamat menghalalkan semua cara?
To those muslims who really believe that "rezeki" comes from UMNO/BN and not from God through hardwork by using the brain that He has has given us....I have nothing else to say.
All the best Malaysia. Those who make proper use of their brains has no place in Malaysian leadership as far as UMNO is concern and that includes you Dato. Yang peliknya, di luar Malaysia, tak ada BN/UMNO, tapi ramai yang lebih senang dari kita.
Yes you can Du..it.
Dear Dato,
ReplyDeleteYou are a voice of conscience within UMNO. Much like KuLi and Tun Musa. You speak the truth.
But alas, like Cassandra from the greek mythology, who have deep understanding and knowledge - you are ignored by the UMNO masses.
Look at the reality, Dato - your try to be above these people:
- The president who tries to be everything to everyone
- The VP who isnt accepted by Malaysians
- The gutless VP in Home Ministry
- The pretentious Pemuda Head
- The pretty Puteri Head
- The clueless Wanita Head
- The ketua bahagians who enters the race to enrich themselves (often getting the money from rich towkays)
- The synchophants
- Those who hangs by the coattails of the people in power...
...take these people away. Who do you have that will listen to you?
You conducted the media workshop in UMNO convention. You know the answer.
Your listeners are not in UMNO. Your audience are Malaysians with commonsense. This word is an oxymoron in UMNO.
UMNO has degenerated to a grouping of people with common interest to enrich themselves at all cost. I spoke to a ketua bahagian who said that at the rate UMNO is plundering the country, the MALAYS will be bankrupt. I asked hi mwhy he's doing it - he said so that when the MALAYS are bankrupt, at least he and his family members are not. They know - that the MALAYS will be in trouble. They will not disagree with your opinion. And you want to preach to these people?
UMNO is like a horde of barbaric plunderer. You want to change them?
I gave up long time ago...
Melayu Baru
"This is disturbing to me and all right thinking UMNO members"
ReplyDeleteWhile Just Duit only disturb your thinking, it is disaster for us Malaysians. Dato'- no need to love UMNO but hate what it does - free yourself from it - just do it, but don't join PR. Your other option is to fight for the Presidency of UMNO Baru - Just Do It with Duit
Dato,
ReplyDeleteUnlikely the upper UMNO echelons are that ignorance not knowing the ground feeling and the image problems that you highlighted. They are well educated, travelled all over the world, meeting high profiles world leaders, scholars feeding them latest information and studies, and have war chest to hire required and specialized skills
So what precisely BN/UMNO need to do Dato?
CEST' LA VIE
Dato
ReplyDeleteTQ kerana menyedarkan saya yang perlembagaan UMNO sebenarnya begitu demokratik. Sedihnya, ia sekarang hanyalah kata-kata kosong atas kertas. Pendapat saya, UMNO tak akan berubah selagi memegang kuasa pemerintahan. Kuasa sebenarnya adalah sumbah segala dosa UMNO.
Dear Dato',
ReplyDeleteWell actually is Just Duit such a bad thing?
Consider this proposition. Imagine if the Government were to create a special "Bonus 1 Malaysia" which translates to paying RM 1,000 a year to each registered voter in a BN controlled DUN (after all there are 5 states win back right?).
How much will it cost? Apporximately RM 3-5 billion a year, which can easily be recouped by decreasing the Development budget expenditure or increased debt. (well we are way past the danger signs anyhow, so what the heck)
But just think of the effect
(1) BN will never lose that seat
(2) Voters in Opposition held areas will start to depopulate their areas or clamour their MP to jump
(2.5) Price appreciation in the property and land which translates to greater wealth for the registered voter in a BN held constituency
(3) Moral reason for MPs to jump ship (i.e its for the voters)
(4) Stimulates the local economy. This fact cannot be underestimated, as my analysis has shown, for example the RM 625 injection by the Government in 2008 for the fuel rebate caused the GNP for consumption to momentarily spike up
(5) The PAS machinery which depends on their petty traders may suddenly see the light of day that it is better to merge with UMNO than stick with the DAP. After all imagine what an extra RM 1k per consumer will do!
(6) PM will win a super strong mandate and all this wasted effort on politicking will end
I question sincerely how UMNO can remain true to its founding constitution. The dynamics of society has changed, the levers of power is firmly in the hands of the Malays for Federal Government bodies and in the hands of the Chinese for business entities. Any effort to change the business dynamic so far has failed because it was never tuned to the actual reality of the situation. If Malay business is FMCG orientated then this "Bonus 1Malaysia" will perhaps do much more wonders as the bulk of UMNO seats are in Malay dominated rural areas.
So in a way it will probably go further than any NEP orientated solution so far, and is equitable in the sense that well, if you don't vote BN, thats your personal preference.
What do you think sir?
How we win is of paramount importance!!
ReplyDeleteDo we respect Maradona and Argentina for the 'hand of god' "victory" or Theirry Henry for the plain cheating in France's "win" over Ireland in the final group World Cup qualifying match? Naah, I wouldn't waste my spit on them!
Many may argue that what matters is the trophy in the hand. But the cost must be counted because as sure as hell it will come back to haunt us.
In Najib's "win at all/any cost" desperate tactics using the Rakyat's hard earned GDP as casino chips, I foresee short term gains and long term disaster.
While Mahathir may smirk and talk about "all fair in love, war and politics" overworn cliche, the
truth is we do not want our youth and children to lose track of the moral dimension! And God help us if Najib is being truly mentored by Mahathir!!
dpp
we are all of 1 race, the Human Race
ps
ReplyDeleteThe UMNO/BN of old was something my parents, family members and I voted for election after election, by-election after by-election. The candidate or his race was irrelevant!!
As for the du-it UMNO/BN baru, we wouldn't touch it with a ten foor pole especially with the likes of Mahathir, Samy Velu, Soi Lek and Rosemajib at the helm!
dpp
if najib works in my company (an MNC) the way he behaved in HS will definitely get him FIRED!!!
ReplyDeleteand...ooooh, the chinese !!! they are the clever ones. 3.5M for a school wasn't enough la! low standard la UMNO nih.
they are baiting to get a big one! wait for SIBU...it'd be very very interesting to see how much will najib up the ante.... an advice to najib...RM500 million for the chiness in Sibu...or else don't talk one...
the silly malays well, throw them a few ringgit and a promise of more to come , they will be satisfied and you can lead them by the nose.
the indians! the indians, just give them mutton curry ...they'll be happy enough...
by election or buy election, belakang cerita la.. Mau bising mcm mana pun, BN tetap menang. So????
ReplyDeletekalau btl umno/bn/gov jahat, kenapa dorang masih menang...
Just Duit???? hahhahaa, mmg kreatif :)
Tapi siapa yg harus disalahkan??? Bukan undi tu dari rakyat ka???
Greenbottle,
ReplyDeleteNajib's the PM. You just work for a company. The comparison is incredulous.
I love nike..
ReplyDeleteLantak lah just do it ka atau just duit..
Yang penting aku naik. hahhahahhahaa

ReplyDeleteAmboi, amboi sedapnya mengutuk orang Melayu dan India. Bolehlah cakap yang tak berjawab.
I am a voter there and I did not receive any money. PKR did come to my housing estate and offered me RM200 cash and some kitchen neccesities. I returned it to them.
I told them my family are Umno voters.
We voted for Umno because we love the party and not for the money. We dont need money to vote.
I am sure the Indians voted because it's their race that is contesting. Also the Indians are known to have voted for BN all along.
You cannot just take a swipe at Umno voters by calling them stupid. We are not. We are not greedy too.
We the Malays have the feel of terhutang budi or gratitude. There are many proverbs with regard to repaying the good deeds.
Its in our religion too. We must give back for what we receive.
Yes, the Chinese are ungrateful people. Pocket the money without any qualms.
After all money is your GOD.
I am utterly sure ypu are a PKR supporter. With your kind of mentality, that's why the party lost.
Well said Dato'. It is short term gain, long term pain.
ReplyDeleteNajib will not last long if he continues prescribing this kind of medicine.
Forget economics, he must now look at the organisation structure (which is the same reason why PR narrowly lost i.e by banking on the wrong candidate who by the way has a lot of cash to splash)
And you are also right about TDM legacy... he started the joke by grooming failed successors e.g MH, AI, AAB, now NTR and later MM.
Assalamualaikum Datuk. Saya selalu mengikuti posting Datuk and I find it very inspiring and thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteAs you are, yours truly is also an UMNO member since many many years ago but lately I,m disillusioned when 'DU-IT' played central theme in the struggle. For years I refused to attend any meeting conducted by the party. I simply feel disgusted with the ways things are run.
I have a suggestion though to save this country from going bust ie
Why don't we just employ the whole lot of Singapore's cabinet to run this country for 6 months. Pay them as much as Singapore are paying them. As they are truly professional and play no nonsense I'm sure after the 6th month, this country will be on the right track. You may think my suggestion is ridiculous and absurd, but try thinking outside the box for a second. And we may find it to be the bitterest panacea that our country need.
to protect fasal 3 and ensure its progression, the party has to be in power to ensure that fasal 3 can be protected and progressed..therefore, whatever means necessary needs to be done to achieve bigger objectives..like it or hate it, the ultimate aim is the bigger picture..highways, schools, felda settlers getting their dues..are all those bad ideas and bad for the people? of course the timing is questionable but what is the bigger picture? the people get what they want..so whats the problem?..bigger picture (fasal 3) is protected, people get what they want..
ReplyDeleteDato,
ReplyDeleteYou are one of the handful of intelligent and upright UMNO members left.
The UMNO goons pale in comparison to you in terms of IQ and EQ.
If you stand for election, I will vote for you anytime.
You need to save Malaysia by contesting for UMNO presidency.....please.

Nike-Just do it!
ReplyDeleteUMNO- is just du-it and duit.
All the goings and the comings in in UMNO is DU-IT. Right from the top to bottom.
Just DUIT, the leaders can never lead without it.
Just DUIT, the supporters and voters will never deliver without it.
Just DUIT, the government UMNO leads will not function without it.
Just DUIT, soon UMNO will be in oblivion once there is no more DUIT.
UMNO and du-it is synontmous,
No du-it no UMNO, when there is no UMNO there won't be any du-it.
Conclusively UMNO is Duit and subsequently corruption prevails.
So bro, UMNO=corruption=DU-IT.
"....If we win this by-election, you can come to Kuala Lumpur the next day to look for me. I will write a personal letter to approve the money and it will be transferred to the school board's account. If we lose, don't have to come." - Najib Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia.."
ReplyDeleteIf this is not bribery at its worst by our PM, then, I don't know what is!!!!
The dignity of the Malay race is being desecrated by UMNO.
ReplyDeleteJust observe the following:
UMNO = Malays
UMNO = Corruptions & lies
Therefore, Malays = ?????
A very undignified image of the Malays are being projected by this current crop of UMNOputra's actions and activities.
All righteous and upright Malays must stand up and be counted to defend their dignity. Get rid of those who wilfully tarnish the image of your race with impunity!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in an article/post you wrote prior to the election, you insinuated that Najib was somebody that would bring reform to the country - someone who also deserves a chance to bring these changes. But I take it that here in this article Najib is implied as the one who's perpetuating the old money politics (of course, with Mahathir's instigation).
ReplyDeleteCan't help it, but I see that you're contradicting yourself from one article to another. How can Najib be a reformist when he himself played the same game?
ps. Please be kind with words in your reply (should you choose to reply). I noticed that sometimes when you reply to people's comments, you can be rude (understandably, some comments can be quite annoying).
Right again Dato'. But what can you and the other UMNO members that know something is rotten in UMNO do? Does our excellent leaders read your blog or have you told them directly? The old UMNO had a clear direction and aim but Dr M's Umno has only one motive....to stay in power. There are those that cross to the "opposition" in order to fight against this and there are those (like your self) that believe in fighting from within and do the right thing......unfortunately who listens?
ReplyDeleteMoney Politics=
ReplyDeleteIf there is no demand, there is no supply
OR
If there is no supply, there is no demand...
which one suite?
I support Dato's article!!
ReplyDeleteJust DU-IT.
Very intelligent indeed.
Well, who doesn't love money??
Dear Dato'
ReplyDeleteI have visited your blog a no. of times, but through that time I do not realised you are an UMNO member. You know why?? You just do not sound or think like one.
Dato', I really feel that you are in the wrong party because you truly have soul. Most of UMNO members do not even care about right or wrong, whether it is sinful or not.
However, may god (sorry I cannot use the word for god as in Islam) bless you and family always.
Mei
PAS/PKR campaign got soul ke Dato?

Well, I can only speak for myself. The following is my daily movt during the campaign period:
7.00 am - hantar anak sekolah. check SMS to see if anyone needs transportation to HS, also the meeting points. There are those who prefers to self-drive. I've attended prep meetings in HS so I can lead them there.
8.15 am - We usually leave at this time.
9.00 am - Breakfast with the host
9.30 am - gerak kerja
12.30 pm - End of morning gerak kerja, lunch , prayer and rest
2.00 pm - gerak kerja
5.00 pm - End of evening gerak kerja.
I normally pick my children at 6pm. My family is not picky about food so I either tapau or just prepare simple dishes for dinner.
I was rewarded for my hardwork. A grand sum of THIRTY RINGGIT.
Guess, which party I worked for?
-MAKORANG-
