Blast from the Past- comrade Kassim

Sakmongkol wants to thank a frequent visitor to his blog who goes by the name Walla. This wonderful person has painstakingly uploaded the full poem by comrade Kassim which have left indelible etches in Sakmongkol’s memory. Alas, he couldn’t still find his first print copy of the orangey coloured Kamarau di Lembah.

So, the lines came from the poem, dialogue. The first few lines- berikan aku lidah/aku mahu berkata kata/bagaikan ombak yang menghempas pantai merdeka are yet to be traced by Sakmongkol. If there are anymore kind souls out there, sakmongkol asks for your help. Of course, a visit from the master himself, comrade kassim, is most welcome.

I

Tenteramlah anak
walaupun kebanjiran sawah kita
hujan ini dari Tuhan
yang mencurah-curah rahmatNya

Ada siang masakan tiada terang
dengarlah
si katak sudah tiada memanggil lagi
besok hari panas
padi kita akan lepas!

II

Tidurlah ibu
kita manusia kerdil
siang membanting tulang
malam menanggung bimbang

Ada esok maka pasti ada suria
aku akan pergi
dengan seribu jebat si anak tani
kian lama kita mati dalam setia
kali ini kita hidup dalam derhaka
