People Power

Anwar Ibrahim won Permatang Pauh with a bigger majority. That victory demolished UMNO’s standing, decimated Pak Lah’s credibility and gave a killer blow to Najib Tun Razak.

Everywhere Dato Najib campaigned, he was ridiculed. The official car carrying him was peppered with drink bottles. His audience when he spoke numbered less than 100.

At nomination time, the padang filled by BN’s supporters still provided ample space for any one to run a 100 metres race. Anwar’s supporters numbered in the tens of thousands.

When Anwar presented himself at the court at Jalan Duta, thousands of rakyat accompanied him. No buses, no paid allowances. They came voluntarily. The poor sessions court judge might as well ask Pak lah to try the case.

During the Cuban Revolution, Castro’s supporters were willing to detonate themselves to kill Batista’s soldiers.

What do these tell you?

  1. The rakyat determined the victory at Permatang Pauh.
  2. The Peoples court was the one who’s trying Anwar Ibrahim. And they gave him a not guilty verdict.
  3. The sacrifice by Castro’s supporters? They have the will to win.

The deduction: Anwar can/will win at the end.

Just stating what can be deduced from facts.

So my UMNO brothers, cant you see this? Its leadership that makes the difference. If people from Oxford or Cambridge cant see this, feel sorry for them.

  1. Dear Sir,

I disagree. Having the will to win does not mean that you will win.

Barisan lost because of strategy and execution which was a result of leadership crisis and fractious coalition.

The leadership has failed to direct the troops and boost their morale.

Also internal sabo, maybe Pak Lah wants Anwar to win.

All is not lost yet. Although we must not put our hope in men, a leader will usually help.

Then there is the question of whether Pakatan can defend their new conquests in the next general election.

The people remember Barisan's contributions, despite the bad. And that may be your greatest strength. Yet merely resting on your laurels will lead to eventual doom. It's quite impossible to meet its end so soon.

    God bless.

You may want to consider joining the “Please ISA Me” wave (psygame playing lah) so that they will think twice before handcuffing you.

  5. Pak Lah is a dream opponent to any opposition.

He has committed so many blunders that it's like giving a walkover to his opponents.

Should give serious thought to Harakiri...

  6. Jed,
I beg to disagree. If PKR were to nominate a monkey against the BN candidate, the people of PP will still elect the monkey no matter what.
