We are all behind our security forces! We question the quality of the thinking behind the people who decide the fate of this country.

One bungling act after another from a man with a murder rap on his head.

Now the bastard has taken an ultra-patriotic stance akin to Bush's pre-presidential the dog wag its tail. The only problem, Najib will look damn bloody stupid and slumber-dog incompetent after dispatching 7 battalions (7000), Sukhov, gunships, mortars, APCs to chase after a motley of 100 plus Sulus holding Malaysian blue ICs only to find bombed out empty huts without any bodies. No trace, nothing, zero body count of terrorists.

The Sulus has conveniently disappeared into the 1Malaysia crowd in pekan Lahad Datu or Semporna. Probably, some are joining one of the UMNO's Janji ditepati do or a PERKASA-hosted event waving PAS flag while stomping on DAP flag and burning LGE effigy.

At the same time yesterday he continued to lampoon us with fake Wasatiyyah and Maqasid Syariah that only UMNO will protect kalimah and bashing PAS without mercy. Lest he forgot, in 2010 it was Najib as UMNO PM that signed the 10-point solution letter to Bishop Malaya releasing the Indonesian Malay Bible with kalimah from Port Kelang, no matter it was "FOR SARAWAK - ELECTIONS ONLY". From an anonymous reader.

I have written a long time ago, if you claim ownership over stupidity, you have to defend it stupidly. If you claim ownership over a wrong, then you have to wrongly defend it.
No one questions the dedication of our armed forces or police personnel in discharging their duties. No one can claim they are better at empathizing and grieving for our dead warriors.
We are questioning the government’s ineptness in handling the situation in Lahad Datu. The could-have-been avoidable deaths of our security forces lie at the hands of our incompetent leaders. Please remember this.
Only UMNO people have this kind of thinking, only UMNO Malays are Malays and by extension only those sharing the UMNO thinking are capable of grieving and sad over deaths. Please don’t patronize us with your sanctimonious saintliness. So don't patronize us by instructing us to have more compassion or avoiding the issue altogether by asking us to go to the front lines. Hello- if we have taken the action that we are now taking- bombing and applying long range firepower, who is to say, we could have avoided the deaths of our people?
This isn’t about an issue whether Tian Chia belittles the capabilities of VAT69 or something. He never said that anyway. But our armed personnel had suffered senseless and unnecessary casualties because of government’s incompetence. It’s the failure of this government that has placed armed personnel from our police and military in harm’s way.
So don’t confuse the issue by admitting lies and deceit. We are judging the government capabilities in this case, not questioning the capabilities and dedication of our forces. Of course we need to know, whether the equipment which we provide our security forces are operationally capable. Where are our military transport planes? We are forced to use Air Asia planes to transport out troops so that what? Tony Fernandez may charge the government emergency fees?  That still leaves us with the question- how is the state of our military logistics? We don’t even have troop carriers? What next- troops travel overland in Protons?
The government’s incompetence has spilled over into a failure to safeguard the safety of its citizens. How easy can the nation’s defences be breached. We have sophisticated surveillance outposts on the Sabah coastline, we have expensive patrol vessels and we have F16s and whatever we civilians don’t know which our politicians and army generals have bought.
And the most appalling thing is the thinking quality of those people having power to decide what to do.
We who hit out at the government are no less patriotic than they. We support our armed forces and we grieved too for the deaths of our finest. So far 8 of our warriors have died. We write because we believed the deaths were unnecessary if the government leaders have acted decisively and precisely.
The issue here isn’t about the twisted version of what some people think about the quality of our police commandos VAT69 or what. The issue here is the lackadaisical attitude of our country’s leaders and its incompetence. This is an armed incursion on our territory which must be dealt with by the military. The home minister says the group of intruders are old people, wearing slippers and sarongs, not armed and are all malnourished. The chief of army on the hand- actually praised the intruders saying they had combat experience and were skilled in insurgency tactics. So which is which?
We repeat again- the whole incident escalated because the government is incompetent. Because they have vested interests there.
Mahathir is the last person to judge whether the Sulus acted Islamic or otherwise. He is the last person we must listen when he was excusing the ineptness of government to take immediate and substantial responses by saying the intruders are Muslims. Ibrahim Libya and his followers are Muslims- did the government take 1 month to negotiate with them?  Ibrahim and his followers were armed with parangs and cangkuls, so they were given no quarters. Najib and his government are like the school bullies picking on some people smaller than they.
All of us citizens- less the UMNO paid bloggers who will defend everything like what stupid do should be alarmed by the complacency of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his cabinet about state security. As one blogger puts it, “He is a bumbling Prime Minister who trips from one scandal to another. He is adept at posturing on the world stage, but fails to grasp the seriousness of situations at home”
So we come to the question which Tun Daim said several years ago- does Najib have what it takes to run the country?  Sure, no one is perfect but there is always someone better. Why should we settle for mediocrity when we have more capable leaders?
When the invasion took place, was Najib misinformed by cousin Hisham that everything is under control and the intruders are harmless people. In a classic error of judgement, Najib refused to take a break from political campaigning, preferring instead to get a head start before officially announcing the date of GE-13.
So I ask again like the questions I put up in my last articles, on whose hands are their blood?  Does Najib covet power above all else? Najib’s incompetence has played into the hands of Sabah separatists – both internal and external. With this kind of leaders, we still want to support him? He is capable of only one thing nowadays- when cornered he turns to the usual bogeyman, Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar is a super villain – a friend of Israel, Turkey, the United States and their Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), someone with uncontrollable sexual urges who masterminds fiscal deals, and who is also a porn star. Najib now wants to accuse Anwar of being the mastermind of the invading army.
We may all have some misgivings about Anwar- but as I have said several times before, if more people find Anwar believable, there is nothing, you, I, or Mahathir can do. Najib is of course worse off, what can he be expected to do? A carpet seller accuses him and the wife of massive corruption, he keeps quiet. A private investigator clearly points the murder and execution of a Mongolian lady at the doors of the PM’s house, he keeps quiet.
And what did the bungling and sexually excited tourism minister do? Like the mayor in the Jaws movie did, he pulled aside the marine ranger asking him to keep quiet about the presence of a killer shark. Otherwise the deaths and the shark will scare away the tourists. So Yen Yen says, Sabah is safe for tourists. Why doesn’t she conduct a bus tour in Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna?

Was the government thinking that they are armed tourists who came to visit their relatives?

  5. Bayarlah yang setimpal dengan nilai dollar $5300 tahun 1906, bukan hanya RM5300 setahun.

On 22 April 1903 His Majesty Sultan Jamalul Kiram signed a document known as "Confirmation of cession of certain islands", under what he either grant and ceded or leased additional islands in the neighbourhood of the mainland of North Borneo from Banggi Island to Sibuku Bay to British North Borneo Company. The sum 5,000 dollars a year payable every year increased to 5,300 dollars a year payable every year.

    http://bruneiresources.blogspot.com/2012/08/british-trade-dollar-in-brunei.html

    Kalau $1 tahun 1906 = RM300. Maka $5300 x RM300 = RM 1 590 000.

Setara dengan gaji sultan serta kerabat melayu. Dapatlah mereka menjaga kebajikan keluarga mereka yang besar.

Well,it is no secret that these Muslim militants, insurgents,or guerillas as they are called back in their own country. They have been fighting a guerilla war against the Philippine army for decades. These are all battle hardened fighters.

Surely when they were spotted landing on our shores, military intelligence should have known who they were.Yet our home minister were treating them like girl guides, although they were wearing army fatigues and well armed.

And the home minister were trying to conned the mainstream(Umno/BN) journalists they these militants were pakchiks and apeks.Maybe these journalist have no choice but to have taken the HM at his words, that these militants were actually girl guides, pakchiks and apeks.

No governments will negotiate with foreign militants and insurgents who invade their shores. These hardened killers are not enemy soldiers of a sovereign nation. If they are enemy soldiers belonging to the gomen of the Philippines, then the gomen can negotiate or extend other privileges to them.

These militants are enemies of their own government, and they even dare invade our shores. When they were asked to surrender and refused, the military should have been deployed and blow these killers to kingdom come.In fact our ministers offered these militants special privileges which they would not have offered any other Malaysians.

And deadlines were given to the militants, expired and extended several times.Only when they ambushed and killed members of our security forces, these cowardly ministers have no choice, but to let the military take over. And because our ministers wanted to play politics, eight members of our security forces have been killed and many wounded.

  9. Dear Dato',

I am told that you are going to be a PRU13 candidate. So pls show some leadership as it is leadership that is found wanting. By now I think everyone knows Hishamuddin's crime of omission. You can rehash that on your campaign trail but now, how are we going to resolve this crisis, hopefully peacefully. A reader has already suggested that we should review the cessation money. That is a step in the right direction.

  10. Dear Sak,

When we lost the lives of our 8 finest and bravest men at the frontline, it was not due to the bad soldiering but due to the bad leaders! As they always said, there is no such thing as bad soldiers, only bad generals....

Many people failed to plan but the 2 persons who were in-charged of the whole operations planned to fail the lives of our 8 men in blue bloods.

And they have the guts to tell Malaysians that their political enemies had belittling the sacred sacrifices made by our blue bloods men whilst at the same avoiding their responsibilities and full accountabilities! I'm praying for Allah to forgive these men cause in Mahsyar, they will be asked and held responsible for this.

And when everyhting is over, I praying to Allah that we will come to our senses, and ought to ask for the Home Minister and the IGP to fully responsible and step down in full dignity. The goverment can give them full pensions and full ex-gratia money as they always wish but we Malaysians just cannot afford to put our security concerns and lives on these 2 persons who had failed not just only the Malaysian public but more importantly those men in blue bloods that they swore to protect. Period.

  14. I read with sheer incredulity and utter disgust at UMNO's paid cybertrooper accusation that PR and the rakyat who support them as being insensitive and inconsiderate towards our slain servicemen because we are politicizing the incident. Well, Duh! It was because of politics and politicizing that got UMNO the seat of government and it was UMNO politicizing that landed us in this mess in the first place (project M was a political maneuver masterminded by Mahathir which at the same time was illegal and treasonous).

Therefore is it wrong for us to politicize this issue? Politic has enable UMNO "The Incompetence" to become the government and only with politic can we unseat the incompetence and I should add "the criminally retarded" UMNO! Only by showing the people that politically, UMNO is a clear and present danger to the security and sovereignty of malaysia AND it is our duty, politically to remove UMNO from the seat of the government by voting them out to the rubbish dump in the next GE!

It is typical of UMNO people crying foul when others use political issue to paint them as retards and fools (which is true by the way) when they themselves have been doing the same politically (using the full force of the government machinery and the mass media that they control) for over 3 decades. Typical of "samseng taik kucing and samseng taik minyak", brave and brash when their opponent had their hands tied but went home crying (and later fall asleep - remember Ibrahim Ali, how he spend his time during Bersih 2) when they they we clobbered and bashed in an even fight.

And now we hear that UMNO by way of their media arm (Media prima who own the TV3/4 circus) are trying to show that they are caring and loved our enlisted men by organizing a donation drive for our slain heroes! What sheer hypocrisy! If they really cared, they should demand that those cronies and families of UMNO ministers hand over bribes monies, kickbacks and commission they have gobbled up so that we can compensate our slain heroes act of valor.

Never mind, come GE13 and when a new government is installed, our servicemen can hope for a brighter future! We will ensure that all corrupt ministers and civil servants are taken to task and any illegally gathered wealth be returned back to the nation and to the rakyat and that is a special reminder to mahathir (the master creator of the mess that we have in lahad datu). We will ABUkan UMNO and you will be taken to task!

    Nick.

  15. I believe the lease ( pajak ) is in perpetuality as long as the lease fee is duly paid. Unlike leasehold with tenure ( 66 years, 99 years or whatever the tenure is )ownership will be automatically handed over to the landowner upon expiry of the lease period unless mutually agreed by both parties for extension.

Having deligently paid the lease fee is deemed to acknowledging and honouring the lease agreement. The Malaysian govt cannot say it is " wang ehsan " given that the Sulus are not from Trengganu and the lease agreement is still operative without being officially / legally rescinded.

One option to get out of this quagmire is to rescind the lease agreement but it could only be made possible with compensation. Much to the discontent of readers and Malaysian generally, the government has to pay a token sum to the Sulus. This payment must be held in trust by an independent international body to administer proper disbursement of funds meant for the Sulu people. After all RM5,300 a year is so humiliating.

On the other hand, if the Malaysian govt decides to go for ICJ arbitration at the Haque, our legal team performance at the concluded Pulau Batu Putih hearing will give us an indication of the results outcome.

Now..the Sulu's face off with the Govt...same names appear again.
    The story is sad.
Filled with plenty of reasons....it's complicated...yet so s8imple to understand.
When it is complicated...Umno b cannot handle it.
When it is simple...they make it complicated...in many instances.
This is a mini war....few died from both sides...unnecessarily...can be avoided...it seems....who knows!
8th March......last day for Najib to announce 13th GE.
    Cannot delay...yet must...and so...the proposal for Umno b as the caretaker Govt. for 60 days...after 8th March...is right.
After all...everyone...including Yen Yen and Nazri said...it is a small matter..all are well...peaceful in Malaysia.
Voters need to wait patiently for an extended 60 days...until June.
That's all I am interested to understand....the day I go to the the 13th GE.
Can Najib pull another rabbit from his hat to delay again?

    Bodies start piling up.

For this scenario, i can bet you many of you will be jumping up and down accusing the gomen of not giving peace a chance, merciless, overkill. And later on stories of atrocities mula lah dimainkan.
Then, if there reprisal attacks, you all jumping up and down again, shouting if we had negotiated and settled peacefully this would not have happened.
    B) situasi ini kompleks. I don't think it's as easy as wiping out the baddies like in your computer games as many of the keyboard warriors think.

    Saya Islam. Saya baca Quran.

Apa jadi "dunia Islam" sekarang? Kata nak boikot barang USA, tapi Boeing (USA) pakai juga, facebook (USA) pakai juga, KFC (USA) makan juga, Windows (USA) pakai juga.

Bukan salah USA, kita sendiri kena fikitr apa yang sepatutnya orang Islam buat.

    Nak buat senjata canggih sendiri???

  26. Tactical Strategy
I fell off from the chair when reading the news that F/A-18 and Hawks using LASER GUIDED munitions were used to vaporise the targets followed by heavy artillery with mortar rounds, assuming the 120mm.

What the hell of wastage using 10 aircrafts with costly guided munitions on lowly rag tag bunch of pirates? These people overdose or what? Totally disproportionate.

As for the LGB missing the targets (this is the assumption as no casualities were reported), our bet is the guided munitions just cut through the pondok without detonating (nipah leaves wall instead of concrete/hardened wall) i.e. the fuse are supposed to trigger upon impact but not when the surface is too soft i.e. 10% of VC source explosives were from US Air Force UXO buried inside paddy field muddy surface without detonating, including 500lb bombs.

They should have attacked at night using night vision goggles and flush them out with plenty of smokes first. What a waste of LGBs on few pondoks. Anyway the army should have taken charge after the 3rd day and the government should not have play pussy footing with them. Strike when the iron is hot and make the iron hot by striking! Not after 22 days!

    Politicians
The followers of the ‘sultan’ are more like politicians than guerrillas - armed politicians we would say, otherwise, we can’t imagine such a juicy target of 100 over men concentrated only in one spot @ Tanduo.

On our side, the Najib government is playing dangerous politics by emulating Churchill, Bush or Sadam ways of galvanizing the rakyat and milking for their self interest.

Sometimes as a national leader, we must have a certain element of ‘street-wise gangsterism’ or in plain American jingoism – ‘have the balls’. Look at the leaders in other countries – will they allow these things to happen in their country or for that matter just look north towards us – Thailand. Even the woman PM has got balls. She just directed the army to finish off the separatist movement and paraded them in the army truck to the villagers to put across the point.

But here we showed too much leniency for some runaway unconfirmed sultan to dictate us. Najib is like a one-legged man in a bum kicking competition. C’me on! There is a limit to politics. Our PM has not shown any clear leadership but shown to put his hands on his eyes , ears and mouth each time whenever any controversial issues need answers. Quit monkeying around. Fighting combat is not having your microphone as your weapon and being thousand of miles away from the field. Yes, we question the quality of thinking behind the people who decide the fate of this country!

  28. On Ibrahim Libya, I think he did the smartest thing by sending his deputy, the luckless Musa Hitam to take action, and of course, ultimately the blame, while he sat it out in air-conditioned comfort plotting the downfall of any man who could potentially displace him.

If the number of devious bastards in Malaysian politics are increasing by the day, particularly within BN ranks, this immigrant from sub-continent must be the Creator and God-father.

But Najib must rank as the next most arrogant and devious of all after the old malevolent grouch to believe that because he has Rosmah by his side he owns Malaysia.

The defining flaw among BN politicians is that too often they allow their balls to do the thinking for them while they are having fun - money can buy any mass of human flesh, blood and vaginal fluids, used and unused, while the country go to the dogs and pirates.

  31. True, we have incompetent PM!

Negotiation should take no more than 3 days. Swift action must be taken after 3 days. You don't let your enemy settle down well and get all combat preparation ready to fight you!

  36. (anon 6 Mar23:25)

When someone has lost the plot and the argument, resorting to obscene one-liner will not help reclaim his or her masters' credibility in Putrajaya. Never, not from a population with near 100% literacy rate.

On looks, anon must know he like everyone else never had any choice - we have it as it came some time ago. It would be good that anon publishes his photo so that readers can have an idea how a person who doesn't have his 'dick up his ass' looks like. Even if his face shows blood-shot gold-fish eyes, I wouldn't say it is the dicky's fault, maybe just plain serious constipation because of careless eating habits. God forbid, is it from the real experience?

Malaysians know all too well it is the dick of someone used all too often in the wrong place, at the wrong moment, that has got that someone in a very tight situation.

  37. Lest we forget, there were bombs being let off when Pairin Kitingan's PBS won the Sabah state elections thereby taking the state to opposition hold. What happened on the way to state palace before the swearing in has a hallmark of Kutty filems. His henchmen like Tun Datu Mustapha and ilk were bombing Kota Kinabalu to create huru-hara.
