Vwaishhnnavi, the six-year-old niece of detained Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar, and her mother K Shanti were released late yesterday but opted to spend the night at the Putrajaya police station.
By now, millions of people would have seen the photograph depicting the mother of the 6 year child being carried out. She appeared to have passed out.
Can the organisers tell us whether she has been physically hurt by the police? Or was she being melodramatic pleading all caring souls to believe that she has been brutalised?
These histrionics would later be used by whoever with an axe to grind as proof of the Malaysian Government’s brutality on Malaysian Indians. Pray tell, does this ‘brutality on Malaysian Indians’ actually means brutality on Indians by Malays?
Hello- you Malay firsters out there- why don’t you people appoint some madcap lawyers or some gun blazing QCs to sue the
Then ask ourselves, can these demented tactics further our common interests?
Wow, they bringing bollywood into real life. No wonder Shah Rukh jadi Datuk. :)

Dear Ismail n,
ReplyDeleteIn Malaysia, the Malays are the people who throng down the cinemas, and dvd stalls & oulets to buy and watch Hindi movies. Malays also seem to be more proficient in the Hindi language as you can hear them humming the Hindi songs wherever you go. It's a Malay sultan who is giving out a Datukship to a bollywood star. Should i then, make a judgement call on that? I know better not to. Mutual respect is earned, not awarded.
So, untill unless you were there to witness the incident, until unless you are a medical doctor with profound knowledge in the field of medicine, and then again until unless you were attending doctor of that person, i think it is unfair for you or anyone alike to play god and make judgement calls, especially when it is at the price of other people's misery.
cheers
hey great idea!
ReplyDeletea nation of suers and counter-suers
how about getting the world heritage body to declare the Malay heritage as an endangered culture??
it will become extinct if this goes on
Chinese and Indian culture has its "HOME" elsewhere
how about world funds to protect and preserve the Hang Tuah legacy - takkan Melayu hilang didunia ...
What ever suits you la doc. The picture looks too familiar, where did I see it before? Oh... during court proceeding in one of Tamil movies.
ReplyDeleteDid I need to find out what actually happened, just wasting my time. It's like tamil movie, you know the ending after 10 minutes of watching.
Mr Ismail, watching movies are the interphase between their daily life full of oppression and hardship. While they are not experiencing the cruelty of life here, they are asking for more. Peerah!!!
Sorry Mr Sak if I'm being rude.
Dear Piggy,
ReplyDeleteit takes one to know one, or is it more like "fools seldom differ"?
cheers
Totally agree that the "fools seldom differ", but to hide the foolishness and make it sound more intellectual, they go by the prefix "doctor".
ReplyDeleteHey Ariff
ReplyDeleteI know this photo doesn't tell the whole story.
But the Malays can be very racist lah to "kelings".
Maybe normal to them or some ppl like most Malaysians but quite degrading to Indians.
After all, everyone is God's child. ;)
Happee Weekend.
Maybe I should meet your daughter. Is she politicised like me? I can get her to join PAS. Huh Huh HUh.
;)
Piggy,
ReplyDeletecan't agree with you more. How silly of me. I actually forgot that you and your children were delivered by a person called a waiter. Damn! how could i have forgotten that!

sak mongkol,
ReplyDeletethe lady in the pic is not the mother of the 6 year old child. the lady's name is lourdes mary :)
"Then ask ourselves, can these demented tactics further our common interests?"
ReplyDeleteI love your finishing touch at the end of this posting, Sir.
Hmmm ... wander these particular class of actors are aware of these common interests, let alone to further it.
sakmongkol,
ReplyDeleteI sympathise with the ISA detainees but I find those Hindraf leaders in some way responsible for what happened to them.
What I completely disagree with is the use of children to seek sympathy for their cause.I find it most disgusting and unacceptable.Children should not be exposed to this kind of political culture.
There are more Malay ISA detainess than Indians or Chinese.Nik Aziz's son was once a detainee, did he send PAS supporters regularly on to the streets demanding release of his son and the other Malay detainees.
I really don't want to be rude or sound uncaring and I won't mince my words too, I think the Hindraf leaders deserved what they get.
You are only marginalised if you think you are.
On a per capita basis the Indians have the most doctors and lawyers in this country. These are Indians who strived hard to find better lives and not feel marginalised.
